I am so proud of how far the people of Laramie have come...and proud too of the many thoughtful and supportive comments I read here. Your death has not been in vain Matt!
Studying the original Laramie project, and currently writing a small paper to it, I truly think this is a fantastic play, and docudrama. The fact that we were able to experience what people thought and the multiple perspectives that were portrayed really made me think, how could someone do this, HOW and WHY could people just hate this much? The play may not have moved me on the outside, the inside was somewhat broken. If this play can do this to me, then I have learned something. Thank you.
I am a 15 year old english secondry school student and i am currently 2 weeks away from performing the laramie project. I has been such an honour to do something of this magnitude and we have had people such as ian McKellen give their best wishes to our group! This is such an overwhelmingly emotional story that must not go un-heard of. Thanks to the tectonic theatre company for producing somthing that i know will stay in peoples memories for a very long time.
I leave for the Harvard Debate Tournement in the morning...
I'm doing The Laramie project for my Dramatic Interpretation in Debate this year. I play Jed Schultz, Sherry Johnson, Andy Paris, Rev. Fred Phelps, and the Judge....I can't even begin to tell you what kind of connection I have with this piece...or the effect it's had on me. All I can really say is thanks. Thank you to the interviewers, thank you to the people....thank you, Matthew. You inspire me every day.
how can i make contact whit you STAGEBOY83 cause i am writing a book of this case. please write me at cami.single@hotmail.com Im From CHILE. I know about mathew and here happen a similar case.
omg...its the actual rebecca hilliker. i just played her onstage in my school production of the laramie project tonight. and its really her. i feel so much more connected to her. i was portraying her for opening night, not 5 hours ago. whoa....
The only performance in Nevada is at Green Valley High School in Henderson, Las Vegas. I'll be in that performance, so if you're interested in coming, please do! Any support is great. :)
I was a member of the Cabrini College production of "The Laramie Project" in 2007, and am currently a member of Cabrini's production of "10 Years Later". I just want to express my honor to be a part of it, and how excited our community is to hear this story.
Thank you for continuing Matthew's legacy, and thank you for saying it correct.
Wanted to clarify my honor of being cast in "The Laramie Project" last season at The Western Stage in Salinas, CA. Again, I am honored to be part of the reading of "10 Years Later" on October 12. Bravo/brava Moises and company!
I'm part of the lincoln nebraska cast for this show, and I've never been more excited to participate in a play. I hope it helps to get a message across to people who haven't been willing to hear it before.
I am so glad to be part of this show!!! This show helps people understand so much about some of the struggles that not only face the GLBT community, but people in general!!!
I have seen The Laramie Project performed several times by different companies, each time I've been so moved. I look forward to hopefully getting a chance to see this new play one day. Thank you.
i'm doing this at my high school drama class
