land is too expensive in the uk so I'm planning to do this in bulgaria.. even in south bulgaria winters are very harsh so i'd have to work extremely hard to make a project like this livable year round. also the reciprocal roof would confuse me... angles... and also how the beams sit/rest on the top of the wall!
@outofmire yes, but only on the bottom layer. It's a bit of a waste really to use oak, and also the best woods for cobwood walls are light air-filled woods like poplar or cedar or douglas fir etc. We used oak logs to support the floor joists, not shown here, and as additional supports for the rafters round the back.
