This is definitely Impelliteri, but with a Morse-ish feel, until the solo section, that feels kinda Borislav Mitic-like...the rhythm work and main riffs are very Morse-ish, this is better than I remember Chris being, as far as melodically. Everyone improves eventually, I guess. Cool!
@DifferentPhases Morse not this fast? Hell, half of this is ripped off from Morse's "Tumeni Notes". Suggest you go listen to it. Morse didn't win Best OVERALL Guitarist for 5 YEARS STRAIGHT for nothing. How many times did Impellitteri win?
@jspartacus I know Morse I've got almost every cd. But still he isn't as fast as Chris Impellitteri. a Little reminder check the spelling it's double L double T. Goodluck...
@jspartacus Steve Morse is a real good virtuoos. Have got almost every cd. I like his style and everything, but still he isn't as fast as Impellitteri. a Little reminder for the people who still write/wrote his name wrong. It's double L and double T haha.
morse is perfectly capable of doing this, why he cannot be? because it's not his style? a good guitarist can play any style, not just his trademark style, then tell me why malmsteen can play voodoo child? it has nothing to do with his style, but makes a good cover, even with something his's
Yep, definitely not Steve Morse. Morse's stuff is far more intelligent. This is just someone's idea of a scale exercise gone wrong. There's none of Steve's trademark 'out' phrasing, nor any of his fabulous chromatic runs, nor is there any creative composition or chord work. It's just someone who only hears the most superficial aspects of Steve Morse's playing, and tries to copy it.
Now some people on YOUTUBE have graduated from not Knowing what the fuck their talking about to not Knowing what thier LISTENING to.............seems like a logical progression.............LOL
JensHappe - I don't really care who's faster, this song is 17th Century chicken pickin by Impellitteri - It is not a song by Steve Morse! By the way, Paul Gilbert is KING!
This sounds similar to 'tumeninotes' .. nice tune.. always thought of playing that stuff on saxophone.. the agression of the alternate picking technique doesn't translate very well though lol..
How many Guitar Player of the Year awards has Impelliteri won? That number is zero! Steve Morse won it 5 times in a row and was inducted into the Guitar Player Hall of Fame so it would give some of the other musicians a chance to win it once. Once C.I. wins it 5 times straight, then he would be in Steve Morse's class of guitar greats. Until then..... he's just another speed metal guitarist which are a dime a dozen

it doesnt mean if you win awards your good guitar player it only means your recognize coparing steve morse songs to chris impelliteri's song C.Impelliteri's song is more much difficult to play, faster and lot more creative. than a boring type of steve morse's playing!!
Sounds like Steve Morse tone and lead inflection, but clearly Impellittens song Race In to the light. Is this Steve Morse performing this song, because the tone is in the spirit of Morse. Certainly Morse is capable of this speed chromatic pentatonic stuff.
yeah, the chord progression, it obviously at least begins with root, 5th, then sixth, and sounds a lot like D-A-B-F#-G-D-G-A, but it changes like once or twice, so it's not /exactly/ the same. but yes, I hear canon.
It was quite obvious it wasn't Steve, I think. But Impelitteri? Really? Because I think it sounds pretty neat but I've always thought of Chris as nothing but a wanker.
well, you're obviously wrong in your in your assumption.
This is 17th century chicken pickin' from the Screaming Symphony album by non other than Impellitteri who is one of the cleanest players around when he wants to.
It may be Impelliteri, but it is a Morse cop, big time. The quarter note root pedaling on the bass ala 'cruise missile', diatonic harmony, and crap loads of palm muted 16th notes with a bit of a celtic flair a la 'tumeni notes'. Clearly a nod to good ol uncle Steve..
I said it "sounds like" Yngwie. I didn't say it was him. Repeat after me,
'soooouuuunnnds liiiiike".... c'mon, you can do it! That's a good boy.
I have no idea who Chris Impelliteri is. And please keep your profanity to yourself. I've always heard that people that use that kind of language don't have anything better to say.
To play like this, all you need to do is master the picking patterns, do wrist curls, and drink protein shakes. And practice. That's it. Do that for a couple of years. This is not steve's style, is it?
Well yea it does sound a lot like steve because theres a lot of alternate picking, and steve usually backs his guitar with a piano similar to this one.
