  • Britain didn't start the war. The USA had invaded Upper Canada & burned the Parliament building in York. Washington was retaliation.

Ironicly Francis Key Howard grandson of the poems author was imprisoned in Fort Mchenry for 16 months for writing an editorial critical of President Lincoln.

The USA got spanked for being naughty.

  • in march 2011 a new visitors center opened at fort mchenry - try telling this fiction at the fort and be laughed out of the state

  • It's sad that the real story of the Battle of Batimore was been warped by idiots who dob't tell the real story, who have to embellish what actually happened to fit their agenda. I angers me to no end. Whi is this guy?????

  • @PaMairi Sent him an email and correct him.

  • The speaker is not even able to distinguish the War of 1812 from the Revolution. Look elsewhere for a factual telling of the story.

  • Total baloney. This guy is telling a very wrong story of a great chapter in American History. This bull should be removed as it is even close to the truth. I ask that you research the true story so that this story and othere like it on U tube and e-mails stay off line.

  • @stevroll Sent him an email and correct him.

  • Fictionalized, error ridden, dramatic sermon style telling of the story of Key's writing of The Star Spangled Banner. Entertaining BS!

  • @firemandavid46c You must be a failed product of America's public schools. I suggest you sue the NEA under the product liaibility laws which state: Knowingly releasing a flawed product on society. Did you know that all 50 states have God in their preambles? Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish. Proverbs 12:1

  • @BereanBeacon1 Doesn't change the FACT that this telling is in great part fictionalized. So sad that you feel the need to put out nonsense in place of an already inspiring American event. My argument is not with your obvious Christian Nationalism as much as it is with your passing off fiction as fact! My education was good enough to have exposed me to the actual story not your Christian Nationalist BS.

  • @BereanBeacon1 Amen brudda, I'm sure dis fool learned how to put on a condom in our government schools, let's just hope they don't break!

  • Armistead, commander of Fort McHenry, commissioned "a flag so large that the British would have no difficulty seeing it from a distance." Sept. 13, 1814. 5,000 British soldiers and a fleet of 19 warships attacked Baltimore. The British were unable to penetrate the harbor after 25 hours of constant shelling. When the attack ended, the battered flag still flew above the ramparts of Fort McHenry. Key, held on a British ship on the Patasco river, composed a poem that became the Star Spangled Banner.

  • @nsdtr01 History clouds or even changes memories. But, with your help and mine we can renew and bring forth this story of our past for America's future. By the way at @ 2:32 he calls it Fort McHenry and he call them American's not colonist's at @ 3:30.

So will you stand up and spread the word or will you condescend and belittle our history, the choice is yours. God made my decision when I was born an American.

  • @nsdtr01 Tell me really,is that all you got from that story? If you did, I have nothing to say to you. I cannot even think on that low a level.

  • @xtaxplayer from the story I got some inaccuracies - there were only 16-19 British ships involved with the bombing - the fort was defended by approx 1000 troops and Key was released sept 19 to Baltimore - it is a great story about the second War of Independence - Maryland resident and former history teacher

  • @nsdtr01 I can, as I said earlier, understand the inaccuracies. We, you, other posters and I, can clear that up. But I hope you agree this story needs to be told and it should be a part of the U.S. History taught in our school's.

  • Wish I could find just the audio from this recording... the background music is really annoying!

  • Remember the terrible price that was paid for this country to be free. There are traders to our country plotting to deny you those had won freedoms and kill or enslave you. In memory of those who pied the ultimate price stand up for your freedom and let no one take it from you without a fight. Over the next 15 or so years you will see that I am right.

  • I heard this first on the local radio station, WPIG, and had to stop and listen... I am proud to say that I am blessed to Know those who have served our nation and protected the flag and the freedom we hold dear... I say thank you to all who have and who are now serving this great country home and abroad!!! A personal thank you to Cathy L. Donaldson-Peck (wife), Cecil J. Peck (son), Samantha Moser-Peck (daughter-in-law), THANK YOU!!!

  • Is it true that Francis Scott Key actually stole the Lyrics of the English Song "To Acrenon" to make "The Star Spangled Banner"? Who cares anyway, everytime I hear this song, I will never forget the days of WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm. And also, in between all of this, September 11, 2001.

  • From the beginning, Americans knew that Freedom is not Free. This is a touching story that tells the story of our servicemen's heart that should be known by each child in school. Jim a 100% Disabled American Combat Veteran

  • O.K. Deutchlander, I'm sure you'd be so much better still under East German, or Moscow's rules. So go try living in bread lines, and lines for toilet paper. The great Peoples' revolution will take care of you from cradle to grave, but you can't speak out, you can't confront your accusors, you can't be presumed innocent, and you can't ever demand MORE than the government gives you.

  • God Bless the United Kingdom of Great Britain too. Though it's a real shame that my nation doesn't honour it's flag so patriotically as you guys do.

However, it gives me and my nation great pleasure and appreciation for our everlasting allied ties and the history that has strengthened and sealed our unity us over the years. God Bless the UK and USA - UNITED AS ONE!!

  • how can you be proud of Britain we let terrorist go free because they have cancer and we feel sorry for them were WAY to soft we need to toughen up were a laughing stock because of political correctness. were overrun with immigrants there is no England anymore just an island overun with immigrants, if the BNP are not voted in in the next 20 years im moving to USA because im not living in a muslim or african country, if you want to know why we dont worship the flag look at the labour party.

  • What a great reminder of how precious and valuable our freedom is. Thank you for bringing us back to a time when freedom was regarded as an action and not a right. I am humbled at the sacrifices presented so I can be free today.

Thank you to those who gave their lives and shed their blood for my family to be free! God bless America!

    blessings,

    Wendy
