i saw this tour. when they played los angeles at the roxy, they had some dude running videos behind them, a collage of star wars clips, exercise videos with weird trails in the motions, and other stuff that was oddly synced to the music. if anyone knows who was making the video collage, please respond. was it only in los angeles? did they have it at the toronto show? it made the show extra awesome.
@weezadam Great idea weezadam, think more likelihood of a Ride reunion, Rachel was on Facebook while back, her hearing is all fooked up (all those live gigs took its toll), she's not sure she could hack the noise again, real pity.
I am a die hard Slowdive fan and sadlt never saw them live (was too young), I do however hav this video in its entireity and two others. Let me know if you want a copy.
"yeah... thats true.... i was thinking the same... :( its pretty bad when u hear an artist that sings lower than the original song.... maybe an studio trick" - Obviously never properly listened to the track before. She does a harmony on the album version which would be impossible to replicate live unless she had two sets of vocal chords. She's chosen to sing the lower part.
do you have for any reason the ticket of this show? I am doing a Slowdive gigography project and looking for any info about every concert they gave, thanks!

@Alfisus Unlikely. There are several layers of vocals on Slowdive recordings. She's just singing one of them. Another explanation could simply have been that she couldn't hear herself...Slowdive was one loud band.
actually - the melody she sings on this live performance IS present on the studio recording, it's just mixed lower than the higher melody. . .listen, it's there. i actually prefer the vocals her to the studio version (if i had to choose, that is)
Gosh, I'm glad this live performance is still here. This track actually manages to sound just as good live, but chillier and breezier than the album version.

never lose hope! it's not outside the realm of possibility. First MBV, maybe Ride, and just maybe, Slowdive

If Ride ever reforms, there's a chance Slowdive will come back as well. MBV recently did it. It's only a matter of time...

I love this song. I'm really getting into this band. In some ways I find it superior to MBV.

I have noticed that also. I like the live version more though.. She sings like this on all the live versions of this song.
