  • Hi, my Samsung LN40B500 LCD 1080 TV today begin doing crazy stuff by itself. When I turned on the TV today, the TV began changing channels non-stop automatically by itself. And also the volume went up to 100 and droped to 0 by itself. I cannot even change the channel or switch to HDMI or other resourses by remote or by TV control. May I ask you if this is the also the capacitor probelm????? Or it is something else? Please help me, we have no money to fix TV for $400. Thank you very very much!

  • @Walala2000 I think you have a problem with the motherboard or cpu in that case.

  • I have a samsung 42 inch I got gave to me because the guy that had it spent 400 bucks to have it repaired and guess what it went out again on him so he gave it to me for parts. I did the cap thing again but he bluw a fuze in it as I ched the power board and I replaced the hard to find fuz and it blew again so I had a bad high volt transformer so I replaced the intire power board for 70 bucks and bought a small computer fan to put in it to keep it cool and I have now had it for 2 years.

  • I have a Samsung LNT4061FX/XAA TV with the usual power problems, clicking several times before turning on. At it's worst, it took about 45 seconds to turn on. When watching the TV one night, it suddenly turned off, as if there was a power failure. It would not turn back on. I replaced two 10v 2200uF capacitors on the power supply because they were the only ones that bulged at the top. But the TV would still not turn on. I will now replace the rest of the capacitors. Any other suggestions?

  • HI, CAN I USED THIS 1000uF 25V 130℃ VA SAMWHA Golden Electrolytic Capacitor PET 10X25mm? THE ONE I NEED TO REPLACE IS 10V 1000UF 105'C. CAN I GO UP TO 130'C OR SHOULD I STAY AT 105'C? PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I HAVE A SAMSUNG LCD TV 4065... THANKS YOU

  • @kongo7896 - yes it should be fine.

  • @kongo7896 yes you will be fin even better because now you have play room for the voltage and with the higher temp marking on the cap it will last longer than the ones that was already in the system.

  • @kongo7896 IS YOUR SHIFT KEY ALSO STUCK?

  • Don't go to Radio Shack for caps - you will get the wrong **type** and will be doing this again.

Good sub for 1000uF, 10V caps is Panasonic EEU-FC1E102L.

  • @GPE001 where do I get these?

  • I'm not hugely great at technical things, Whatsoever but my Samsung LE27T51B

a few year old now is just turning on, then I can see whats on the screen ? for like half a second max and its away, it says it still powered up but nothing on the screen, Any help ?

  • @Kukkii1337 - this tv is 27" lcd check for 24dc volt (its stamped on p.s.) powersupply going to logic mainboard if that reads low its inverter or caps (CAPS CAN BE BAD & NOT BULGED) CAPS GO BAD 1ST THAN BULGE AFTER WEEKS OR MONTHS OF USING THE TV . good luck

  • blink 3. how to fix OPF without solder. no caps look busted. tv was shut off while on many times. also no light goes to the gun. the fuse looks perfect

  • Thanks fixed my LN52 750 using this. I found two blown caps and used a single 2200uF 35V replacement since the originals were 1000uF in parallel, and I stole this cap from an old VCR. I was also in my pajamas.

  • @videohost4 - awesome, good work

  • radioshack huh? they always run out. sometimes i think they're just lazy to get them in the back. only finishline and gamestop are not lazy

  • I absolutely loved your comment about your little boys screeches!! Made my whole evening. AND, FYI, generally it IS only little boys that screech like that. Little girls don't get anywhere near that pitch....

  • helloo i got a daewoo television and while watching a tv show it just went off and has not come on since not even the standby light is on but i keep hearing a tick, tick sound coming from inside of the tv

  • I got a problem with my Samsung 46inch, it's darkish half way & there's a green like line on the left abt an inch or centimetre thick (same side as dark side) goin up the side of the screen. U can stil see picture, whts wrong with it? Please help

  • @bodoblaze - powersupply or t-con board, check my blog for parts & boards.

  • @bodoblaze thats easily fixed, thats a bad solder joint. also its nice to see a real tech making a video.

  • @bodoblaze Look at the part number of the powerboard (stamped or printed along the top edge of the Printed circuit board) type in Samsung then the powerboard number and you will find out if anyone has listed one for sale. This is what I did for my LNT 4665 set. I am now watching tennis from the Australian Open in 1080i. My board was $79 including shipping.

  • Haha my wife helps me record my vids too. lol XP Cool vid though, I just learned how to solder and wish I had known this earlier. Luckily, my smart tv was still under warranty.

  • Hi, I fixed my vizio 32" like this, then I found a 50" Samsung and tried... when I turned it back on something nflashed and snapped, I found a burned... something. LOL I just don't know what it is called but if I could email you a pic maybe you could tell me and help me get on the way to fixing it? Thanks!

  • Worked on my LN52630 as well. Saved me $2k on a new LCD.

  • This worked great for my Samsung LN52650A as well. I opened it up and it had two blown capacitors. Less than $15 bucks later (two 35V capacitors and a soldering kit), I had a working TV again. Thanks for your help

  • @Northwood304 , cost of cap kit $5... cost of soldering kit $10... Knowledge of fixing your tv when it craps out PRICELESS. you just saved $300-400 tv repair or saved $900 on a new tv, Now you know how to fix your tv you just extended your tv warranty to Lifetime! you did the research & you fixed it, Great Job!

  • I have a 42" toshiba lcd tv, model number 42rv530u, power supply board pe0546a. The 2.5amp fuse blown. I replaced the fuse, plug in the fuse blow again. any idea how to fix this? Thanks

  • @letmeinz123 , blown fuse.. I think it's rectangle inverter board (about $100- searsdirectparts.cm) perhaps, it's usaully mounted to the back side of lcd tv, but replace fuse 1st then unplug power cable on inverter board so power supply board isn't connected to inverter board then try it again, & see if fuse blows, if it doesn't it's most likely That board & not the power supply board, repeat that process to the other boards connected to the power supply one at a time. Sub.me for more info.

  • @letmeinz123 You most likely have a shorted component in the power supply. If you don't have the knowledge or a friend who can test it, you may want to take a gamble on a used power supply. Check eBay, shopjimmy, discount-merchant, or a number of other sites that sell tv parts.

  • i can stop? haha

  • The small 6.3 amp that blows every time I push the power button is on the sub power board, not on the main power board! So no power to tv, Help!!!!

  • @Surdo13 , follow the trace from the blown fuse and check all resistors or ic or transistors in line of that blown fuse.

  • Someone just gave me a Samsung hl56a650c1fxza, Dont know what year or anything... It powers on with sound, but no pic... Would that normally just be the bulb, or could it be something else?

  • @gravityzsin , most of the time the lamp is bad for dlp's tvs they last 3-5k hours but if the lamp light is blinking on front tv panel is main sign for a new lamp, lamp costs under $200. if tv is over 50" it's worth it to fix but if not sell it broken on craigs list or part it out on ebay the light engine alone is worth about $200 so tv is at least worth about $150- $200 broken....

  • We have a Samsung dlp tv that's 61", model#HLN617W it's an older model tv and we are having a problem with no power! We checked the easiest first and found that a small 6.3 amp 250volt fuse was blown. If we replace this and it keeps blowing, what could be the problem? The lamp looks good so stumped!!! Would this little fuse keep the tv from powering up?

  • @Surdo13 i believe its the light engine part of color wheel, needs to be replace 1st do color wheel, caps won't blow fuses in this case so it's not caps, if it's the light engine that part costs over $400, your tv is around 8 years old for a dlp thats old, if your interested in a great big tv maintenace free from changing lamps get lg or vizio 60" or panasonic 65" all under $1500 at AmazonWholesales.blogspot.com remember 1st replace color wheel, look for burnt resistors, ic's, transistors.

  • @Tampatec Is the light engine the same thing as the ballast for the lamp? Are these two things one and the same? Sorry, but trying to fix this it was given to me and really can't afford to shell out big bucks for a new tv and a buddy has parts for this tv at a reasonable price. Thanks for the info!

  • @Tampatec i got the same problem, i have tv samsung 58 inch i replace x main board 2 times and don't have any bad capacitor but my tv unable to on sometimes can but not all the time i i think my tv have bad capacitor problem and i check it out but everything seems ok my questionis do i need replace y board for it ? my tv have blinking red led and have click relay one time and tv dead but still have respone from remote , plz help me . thanks

  • @MrKoo614 , does it click on & off before it turns on, or not at all? if so that would be caps, sometimes caps look good but aren't just buy the cap kit online for that model tv

  • @MrKoo614 , does it click on & off before it turns on, or not at all? if so that would be caps, sometimes caps look good but aren't just buy the cap kit online for that model tv

  • @Tampatec click sound only one time and tv now complete death but tv still have reaction from remote i push power on from remote to make off (force and led continue blinking ) so i have to change the capacitor again could you tell me which caps i have to replace? and i do have another questin do i need replace the y board? thank's

  • @Surdo13

  • @Surdo13 GET A NEW TV! hahaa if you keep blowing lamp fuses mostly likely your lamp ballast is drawing too many amps overcharging the system replace ballast

  • thx

  • I would test the caps in the video or just change them out with new ones, just to be sure, then let me know if it works or not, you just have to troubleshoot by narrowing the problem down to the source, start by changing the caps which is most common issue for flat screens, then check voltages coming out from the power supply but you need schematics (diagram of tv circuit) so you know what pins should have what voltages. get schematics free on some websites. good luck

  • Please don't try to repair if u not aware of electronic basics. It cud be DANGER to yo life or yo TV.Cap' is an electric charge storage device.what u r dealing is a Electrolytic type which shdn't connected reversely or st, it'll explode.U shuld consider of the temp other than the volt & value. For heating envir like power supplies you'd use 105c instead of 85c which is mentioned on the body. elec caps are punched on top to explode from top always.& Caps arn't the sol for the same fault always.

  • @guitarbridgecleaner you're funny guy

  • "...my eye twiches" LOL!!! Such a helpful video, btw!

  • 0:38

"It might have been due to ... heat or too much voltage going through it..."

Or the board used inferior quality capacitors or became damaged from transient power disturbances (which is why it's a good idea to use a good quality surge suppressor or even a power conditioner if you're so inclined).

  • Hello, I went to your blogspot website but how to I submit a question about my TV? I have this BIG Mitsubishi CS-35503 that works but after a few min the picture starts to flicker and then goes completely off. To get my picture back I have to turn off the TV and wait a few minutes before it works again. I have done some research and it looks like most likely it would be a capacitor that is bad. But which one?

  • @NightPlayer1976 -Capacitors around ic401 vertical out. 2 100uf 25v and 1 220uf 25v around vertical output should do it. change also on 15v source 470uf 16v and 220uf 25v near back of deflection board, upper left corner, 470uf maybe too.

  • I have a Samsung LA40R81BDX/XSA 40" tv which continuously tries to switch itself on every few second to no avail. Before it did this, I found that it would randomly turn on in the middle of the night. Then it wouldn't turn on at all. I replaced the 5 capacitors in the power supply board (2 were bloated and leaking but i changed all 5). Used the correct low ESR ones. Problem still remains the same. Any advice before I buy a new power board for $350?

  • @scardscorp might be the ic then but searspartsdirect has power board for cheaper. :)

  • @Tampatec I managed to fix it last night with some help from a couple of other forums. For this model LA40R81BDX/XSA there is a chip(or eeprom) that was corrupted because I kept using the tv until it just wouldn't work anymore.I found the chip with 24C256 printed on it. It had the code IC1803 printed on the board next to it. This chip was found on the underside of the board, roughly in the middle.

  • @scardscorp - good detective work tech, IC1803 printed on the board is location #'s, 24C256 is ic part #, I.C. is (integrated circuit) where did you find new ic at ? samsung LA40R81BDX is worth fixing it's a great tv.

  • @Tampatec I soldered thin wires to pins 5 and 6( the ones with 100ohm resistors on them) and shorted them before turning the power point on. Kept them shorted for 1 second after power on. Then pressed mute, 1, 8, 2, ON in that order on the remote. After 5 tries at timing the TV came on after pressing these buttons! Another combination aparently is info, mute, menu, ON but this didnt work for me. must be for another model. These instructions were meant for LN4051 but worked on mine.

  • @Tampatec ...i have samsung tv plasma 58 inch have problem with clicking sound and blinking red led and i tried to fix it by order power board on ebay refurbhised and working couple weeks and out again and i order another one and have same problem again so i just want to try to fix it since i saw you guide at you tube and i opened it i check it nothing capacitor leaking or something at top of it so thats why i"m kinda frustrated and i dont know which one parts are failed please help me

  • @MrKoo614 > i got a board on ebay that failed, but you can buy the cap kit for that tv, just google cap kit & (tv model #). it could be ic chip but that's rare.

  • @Tampatec so its only cap problem right? but how come i dont see any bad cap on board? do i need replace them all? my board is bn4400183a plz reply back sorry bothering... thank's

  • I have a bad power supply on my plasma however none of the capacitors are popped or show any signs of damage. Does anyone know what i can do to figure out which are bad...thanks

  • @mets530 - send me the model # of tv, I'll help.

  • @Tampatec its a Pioneer PDP-433pu and the power supply part number is AXY1059

  • @mets530 -Try power supply board found an open resistor ( R133) and a shorted transistor ( Q127) .The tv led indicator send 4 flashes, update is recommened and Always unplug pioneer tv when taking off the back panel cause of the reset trip switch, this will shut down tv even after you fix it, so it must be reset afterwards, it happened to me the 1st time I opened a pioneer tv. to buy any tv power supply board try Searspartsdirect. good luck. let me know if this helps.

  • My samsung currently works fine but has a bad picture quality like the previous picture will be super imposed unto the new one......... im not sure if its the capacitor problem?? as i am yet to open it up what do you think?

  • @da1twista Try playing a dvd then cable tv, if it does it on both inputs it might be the ic on motherboard but it could be bad voltage (leaky caps) to the motherboard so 1st check your volts coming out of the power supply but call Samsung before doing it might be covered or might send/sell you a board replacement. the Samsung tech Support # is on my Tampatec.blogspot.c o m site link is on the right of page. Good luck Tech

  • @Tampatec contacted samsung uk tech support directed me to a local but they weren't able to diagnose the problem they requested i bring it in with a non refundable £80 unless i repair after check up i find that unreasonable. As for you other advice both inputs r messed up like picture retention, how do i check the IC board is faulty??, is it def not a capacitor problem?? and finally do you mean the mains electricity supply? as it has been using the same switch since the very first day

  • I changed out just the bulging ones and it works. Thank you Tampatec (yes ladies, you too can fix your own tv)!

  • @KelskiB -Cool ! good job, now you just saved $200 on a repair and now tv has personal value cause you repaired it.

  • Comment removed

  • my samsung is doing the on/off thing. I watched your video, I've cracked open the back and see that 2 of the capacitors are bulging. Interesting thing though is that they are 25v, 1000uf and 105c. I see 4 of that size and there are 2 that are 25v, 470uf and 105c. Should I replace all 6 capacitors with 35v, 1000uf, 105c ones? Or just the 2 bulging ones?

  • @KelskiB -Just change 2 bulge caps out but if that doesn't fix it, do others but remember neg. and positive of caps when installing, also upgrading to 25v to 35v is ok but don't exchange 470uf for a 1000uf cap, also try to get 105c rating caps but 85c is ok too.

IMPORTANT - CAPS MUST BE REPLACED BY THE SAME "uf" RATING, and the " v " is for max volts the cap can handle and the "c" is the max temp. cap can handle. please subscribe for more repair videos.

  • Old days tubes were the problem; now it's the caps. But old caps lasted much longer. Must be a time shift. :P

  • how do you takee the old ones out??..

  • @hmmme3 - heatup the pins till solder turns to liquid form and wiggle it out, or buy a solder sucker at radio shack, I'll do a video later for you if you subscribe to me, Tampatec channel

  • I can get 35V/1000 but with an 85C degree rating opposed to the 105C degree rating on those factory installed. Will this temperature difference be an issue for me down the road?

  • @QooQooQuran - Try to get 105c for long term reasons but if all you have is 85c that should last you for a few years.

  • Our Samsung TV started the clicking and turning off thing yesterday. I called radio shack to see if they had 25V caps but the guy said they only carry 35V, can you still use 35V or will that be a problem?

  • @Teagm1 - Thats what i used from radio shack 35v but has to be same 1000uf rating, My tv been working ever since march 2010. remember to unplug tv 1st and take your time and double check your work, black side of cap. is negitive, let me know if this works and if it does work PLEASE subscribe to my channel Tampatec, I'll do my repair vids. I like helping youtubers like you.

  • (sarcasm) Satan says repairing your expensive Plasma or LCD tv is stupid and dangerous. Stop emulating independent intelligent human function trying to repair it.

    Scrap it and buy new.

  • @gavincurtis I'm corporate ceo Douchy McDoucherson, and i approve this comment.

  • Thank you, I fixed my TV following your video....

  • does anyone know of any places where you can get your power board fixed? its way to expensive to buy a new one...thanks.

  • @mets530 - go to my blog

    tampatec.blogspot.com

  • Just Google " capacitor plague" at WIKIPEDIA then you will know why they failed, it is not he voltage problem that is causing them to fail. Mkae sure to use PANASONIC FM or FC series which are low ESR type, a must for switching power supply. See more pictures at PHOTOBUCKET, user name BUDM.

  • Hey, about 2 years ago, we bought a samsung 42" LCD TV, then it went off, after checking, there was 5 Capacitors which were dead, but after replacing them with higher Voltage capacitors, the problem still persists. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  • @FMcD if it's the same issue with no effect it might be main board, you can try to send it out to refurb it.

cost $100-$180 for board exchange at some places

  • @Tampatec Hey, yeah it was, i actually rang samsung up to get a quote to get it fixed, and they fixed it free of charge, despite it being 3 years out of warentee, and despite me repairing the power board, the TV is now sitting beside me next to my computer :D

  • Thanks man!!!!

  • If you do this repair it will mostly work I have had to replace the memory chip on the signal board to on occasion.

  • @marklaser131081 cool THX for that input

  • hello ,my probleme is,when i change the blow fuses they blow again when i try to plug in the power

  • @yirdunith still try to change out the caps but sounds like something more like a shorted chip or transistor.

  • you da man

  • @Tampatec ok thank you

  • 3cbf 9 00290 screen doesn't stay on when turned on and it turns back off please help

  • @BrAnDoN182000 sounds like bad caps, type the model # of your tv in fixit website, buy the caps at radio shack or online.

  • @Tampatec I repair warranty samsungs, lg's, sony's etc... you're very lucky you didnt blow anything on your board with static seeing you have carpet and are wearing socks :P. Also know in tv's sometimes they can have residual charge left over. Seen it myself and it's happened to me you have to let the voltage "drain out" before touching a freshly opened tv if its been running before-hand. Always best to have a multimeter handy too in case components like the main pcb have been blown ;o.

  • @Mauler1987 -I'm not lucky, i repaired many tv's this way for years, also with my dad in the 90's, never did that happen, maybe if i rubbed my feet for 30 seconds on carpet then tried to fox a tv it might be bad but i try not to do that. thx for input

  • @BrAnDoN182000 Is your tv in warranty ? if so get it checked cuz once you open the tv you void the warranty. Most tv's use locktight (coloured residue to keep screws in and show if its been opened before). If it's not in warranty then proceed carefully and take all safety measures. Sometimes if it's not the caps it can be the main pcb (the tv's motherboard) not sending signal to the panel/psu and ultimately turns off. Could also be the inverter which is usually located on the PSU.

  • Envision L32W761 32" TV No Power. Help?

  • @TheEldoradosBand try unplugging it for 5min then plug it in, thats a hard reset, make sure your ac outlet is good, if you bought the tv after the 1 yr man. warranty then check the power cord and power supply, the fuse is located near the power plug inside the tv but make sure the tv is turned off 1st then check the fuse, on the power supply board it should read for example> F105, the "F" stands for fuse the number after is the location #, good luck

  • U2 yeah!

  • please use a working desk or your legs can burn.

  • Hi, I have followed the steps and replaced 5 capaciators on my Samsung TV, was doing as reported wouldn't turn on and just kept clicking! put it back together and Nothing still making the same clicking noise, it sounds like its coming from the small boxes 2 yellow 1 blue 1 black about 1" sq on the same board? any help would be much appreciated after reading everyones success i am disappointed it hasn't fixed ! great videos

  • @ThePocketPcMan You have more bad caps, or check your soldering and make sure you have the caps in there right, and also the right caps in the right spots (neg. and pos.), note- the clicking is the relay box turning the high voltage on and off, but its the microchip telling the tv to turn off because the voltage isn't right in the circuit, so the tv doesn't go up in smoke.

  • @ThePocketPcMan Also note use as little solder as possible, you only need enough so its flat like the other soldered joints you see on the board. Voltage runs through that solder and if it's too clumped it can arc out onto the back of the panel and blow the power supply board. Won't hard the panel but some models the PSU's can be expensive to replace as a cash job.

  • @Mauler1987

I ended up putting a replacement power board in, and its still same problem just clicking and wont turn on!

I dont know what to replace next the other board or what!

    thanks for imput

  • @ThePocketPcMan if the caps on the power board are bulge out replace them, or it could be a chip, but maybe when you replaced the board you didn't push a connector all the way in.

  • i got a problm whit my tv its a samsung HD redy when i strart it up i get bluwe schreen (or if pluged in tv) then it turns black and i only have sound. what up with that? (usaly i fix cars not tv´s can i fix this myself?)

  • @manualmaniac1 post a video of the problem, i'll try to help. i think u can fix this easy.

  • @Tampatec ok i will thx, any idea wat te problm is?

  • Ewwww...Radio Shack caps...

  • i used a 25v replacment.

    works like a charm now.

    thanks ;)

  • Good to see people do repairs but do NOT use cheap RatShack caps to fix your TV. Nobody else mentions the fact that these are used in a switching power supply. For these, they must be not only proper capacitance and of sufficient voltage but -MUST- also be low-ESR type caps and 105C rated. Otherwise, you WILL be doing this again. Use Panasonic FC or Nichicon PV or PW series caps. I recommend using EEU-FC1E102L from Panasonic. This gets you the proper lead spacing and is rated at 25V.

  • Pro cut the leads before soldering , if not you can crack the solder job or even fuck up the tracks.

well , congratulation if you fix your tv , you are lucky that the problem was only the capacitor . i have like 3 big LCD with chips problem , it realy sucks ...

  • i am not going to open my tv.

  • dumb question, on the 'hot side' of the PCB, can you get shocked if you wear rubber gloves. Also, you are avoiding the 'hot side' sa as not to get yourself shocked, or not to damage the board?

    Thanks great vids

  • @gst69man no and no if the board is out and unplugged its not dangerous, no need for gloves, but some caps hold a charge, just discharge em after you pull out the board.

  • @Tampatec How do you discharge the the capacitors exactly? i have to equipment...going to radioshack in the morning to buy some capicitors for my samsung....

  • @jayzcc83 Low voltage caps.. you don't discharge them.

Don't buy radioshack caps - you WILL be replacing them again. Buy only low-ESR type caps such as those listed below.

  • let me check i'll take it apart right now

first time i checked it was only the 10 volt one.

  • dude my shit went nuts! it turned off every 30 seconds so i decided not to use it until i got the propper capacitor. and the temperature of a part of the screen was way higher than the rest of the tv screen.

  • @ElMandalorian007 - sounds like a few caps are bad, type in your "model #" of the tv and type " repair" ,at fixya.com or google the shit. if your in tampa i would help you more.

  • @ElMandalorian007 Sounds like you damaged the backlight for the panel. You'll most likely need to replace a tube now.

  • @Mauler1987 I THINK IT´S THE BACKLIGHT PANNEL I´M REPLACING IT AS SOON AS I GET IT OUT OF CUSTOMS LOL

  • Tam, I'm thinking of buying a 32" Samsung LN32350. Any opinion on it? Thanks.

  • @GereDJ check out the open box tvs at bestbuy or walmart great deals. Top TV deals are LG 60" $1299, panasonic 50" $599 at HHgregg or hhgregg.com, the sales rep can adjust the prices sometimes. Also samsung 32" is great but go big if you can. But don't get mitsub. tv consumer reports states high repair rate.

  • Almost did this repair....Until I found out . SAMSUNG IS NOW ADMITTING AND ARE REPAIRING TVs THAT DO NOT HAVE WARRANTY, CALL THEM 1-800-726-7864

Samsung sent a guy to my house in a weeks time. He had it fixed in less than 20 minutes for FREE. Just insist on the capicators being replaced. Say I have no issues except for the Capicitor problem.

  • @ZooSplash cool

  • if i changed a capacitor of 10 volts 2200 uf for a 16 volt 2200 uf then would the performance of the tv be affected? pls help. the changed capacitor fixed the problem where the tv would take forever to turn on but i'm afraid it might be heating it up too much.

  • @ElMandalorian007 - check the temp. specs but it should be fine, my tv still works great.

  • big up this guy, seems to help anyone who asks for it, well done

  • Whats wrong with my TV it is a samsung it makes a beeping sound and tries to turn on but doesn't after awhile it use to finally turn on now it doesn't whats wrong with it?

  • @unfriendly702- u got bad caps, go to ebay for the parts, est repairman $300-400 but

    your cost $5,

  • Whete do you find these parts!!!. The only place I know that USED to sell them was Radio Shack!

  • @starguard - ebay

  • Ok I need your help on soldering. What type of wire should I get? And did you need to put resin flux also, or can it be done without it?

  • @mark0101 just go to radio shack and get thin solder, no flux

  • Any one that wants info on their tv post me.

  • @Tampatec my tv blinks with the res light it has but doesnt turn on at all. can i fix this myself, or how much would i pay to get it repaired? plz reply

  • @delaghetto2009 -1st call samsung to see if its covered , then follow this video, change the caps.

  • I can't take the cage off the back of the tv... i got the back off, found the stupid hidden screw. But now I can't get the cage off. It feels like there's another screw on the cage, somewhere in the middle, but I can't find it. Help! Samsung Series 6 Touch of Red, purchased in 2008.

  • @LSpear76RCN there should be another screw, try flexing it up and see where it's resisting, but be careful .

  • @Tampatec I found it. It wasn't a screw, but the outside screws of the VGA input. I had to take those screws off to get the back off! I got the capacitors in the mail and my friend is going to solder it Sunday. I'll let let you know if it works properly.

  • do you have any idea what to do if my samsung plasma has one chime / one click & still wont turn on? capacitors look perfect, have checked them. thanks!

  • @selektajahmaica I still think it's the caps in the power supply or the volt reg. get a cap meter on ebay and read them out of circuit, must read within about 10% of it's value or else replace it.

  • @Tampatec thanks a lot for the fast reply! that is what i will do!

  • @Tampatec @Tampatec What does it mean when you have replaced the capacitors and your TV just flashes the red led light on and off? Did I wait too long? It use to flash both leds. The blue and red. Then minutes later it will turn on. I left it in that condition till it wouldn't turn on anymore. Not even the leds. Then I replaced the capacitors. The led's now come on again but the set itself isn't working. The blue led is steady and the red like I said just flashes. For real haha wtf?

  • Thank you so much for posting this video. My dad's Samsung had been having several problems with lines on the screen, to taking a long time to turn on, to turning on and off on its own, to finally shutting down and not turning back on. I googled some of the problems and found your link.I watched it, and took apart the tv to find 4 Caps that were bad.I went to Radio Shack, came home and fixed it, while my dad was at work.He came home and was so happy! I will be doing this to my neighbors TV too

  • @burninblueyez21 Cool you are offically a TV tech, good job
