The reason why the both use blue is because it really makes your eyes POP when you're wearing glasses. That doesn't mean she copied Michelle Phan.

@Veisha2007 dark colors make your eyes look smaller, if that helps... Line your upper and lower lashes with black or dark brown liner. Hope this helps. :)
