  • interesting, with the US ability to control the weather using HAARP, and creating the earthquake in Haiti...it makes me wonder if this too was created....

  • The rise of native tribes will happen. They will see how to really live, Time to realize ,The only way is the native way"> Love and light all ways

  • This made me nauseous and want to sob my heart out. I am SO TIRED of natives, ESPECIALLY my beloved Lakota being cast aside. I would gather all of the people in my arms if I could.

  • And forgotten as if nothing happened.

  • I am 90% Lakota, and a PFC 816th Combat Engineer in the U.S. Army. From what I've seen, the state has and federal goverment seem acknowledge "major" disasters outside of our beloved country. And no we soldiers are not trained to be hitmen and bullies, more like a friend who will push our problems aside to help. Yes, those problems are the floods in North and South Dakota. But do we ever see or hear of any aide in the disasters that strike the reservations? No, instead they are pushed aside

  • Chupa o meu pal peludo.

Tend poha nem uma desse vídeo faz uma dublagem em português caralho.

  • The problem here is US infrastructure. Those poles are placed about twice as far apart as they should be... and of course the reservation should have its own grid supply. Alot of Native Americans are turning to solar...

  • in montreal ICE STORM i was there- & so many pple decided to switch to woodstoves/oil heat etc- & doubled insulation- they feel equipped now to face another ice storm-big tree branch smashed a car flat-in front of my window- the apple trees split down-but not the crabapple trees native to region-lets build womens longhouses for more organized unified matriarchy values-why sell our lands which keep us employed for life- in exchange for white mans diplomas-now unemployed graduates are LANDLESS-sad

  • @AngryActivist45 lol!!!

  • @AngryActivist you make me laugh :-) lol

  • @AngryActivist45 Their only helping Haiti for monetary gain. The same reason they help any country. So, please don't think the government is doing anything out the kindness of their hearts. America is tapped out of gold, most oil and diamonds. Haiti has been survey for sitting on a gold mine and America along with other countries want those resources. It's only a matter of time til everyone will see what control has been passed over to the wealthy. It's all about money and power.

  • the wealthy elite have full control over majority of natural resources in the world except for Haiti. Haiti has been at war with America for centuries and the earthquake was means to bring them to their knees and make them beg for help in return for control of their independent nation. It was a historical events in our era and needed to be well publicized and documented. The reservations r considered tapped out lands so, there was no hurry to help Native I respect all people and feel ur pain.

  • Wow! Well made video

  • peace my brothers

  • Stenght to the families on the reservation, it will happen again. The governemt, if it responds, will do so exactly in the same manner as America responds to everything: fast and short lived. You will need your traditional ways otherwise you will be able to support yourselves.

  • DEATH TO HAITI DEATH TO ICE STORMS

  • I am Native American and I want to know if you have some Native News on that BP oil spill?

I need the real news so I come to you.

I need to know where I can get fish that is safe to eat.

  • Why are we surprised? Katrina victims, still victimized. They cannot return to a place where there are no schools, grocery stores, mildew-infested homes. Our govt. has continuously failed it's poor elements. Look at Cape Cod and their mistreatment of the poor...for show. Incidentelly, I know someone who lived through this mess up on the Rez. Awful. Better be prepared for round 2 this year...let us not forget this is a possibility again.

  • i think it goes to show the gov. still has angst toward natives. just a theory.

  • @gibsonCat100 I don't think the government doesn't even care about the Natives. Just like African Americans, natives have been psychologically and finacially tortured, abused, miscegenation, and bamboozled for so long, they don't know how to fight, what to believe or how to unify. I'm 44% native American, 12% Caucasian, and 44% African but, Tri-racial Natives with one or two documented ancestors are looked at as outcasts. When we should all be unified and fighting for reparations together.

  • @artruh We do have a common experience here in this land, but experience does not do away with the fact that Africans have populations just like Europeans elsewhere on the globe. We are here this is it, it is our only stand there is to few of us left as is now to encourage any sort of mixing, you may call me names if you so choose. I have one child now I plan more Indian ones and grand children as well your not a outcast unless you choose, but we can not deny reality and no Indian should ever.

  • this is awful. but the title of your video makes it seem as if we shouldnt care about the ppl of Haiti. I luv all my ppl, hispanic, black, native american, etc. I do blame the media for not covering this,bc i had no idea.

  • @bigjalil Haiti had full coverage from the news networks, and we did our part to help. The media however refused to cover this disaster even a little bit and therefor it was being overshadowed. It wouldn't have mattered what or who was in the news, according to media it's not politically correct to mention native american news on top broadcasting networks.

  • @bigjalil it totally doesnt mean that. media just covers waaay more on haitans than natives. look at it like this. the haitans are like a huge ship and the natives are like a sesame seed. yes, a bit of an exaggeration but at the same time it's not. natives have to put up with this extreme weather on the rez's year after year after year and so on. nothing against haiti if anything i hope everything gets better over there

  • God Bless our people and land

  • I was told by my family I am Native my mother is brown skin and says she is Native. I would like to know if I look like it to you all opinions are welcome?

  • This is so sad... I feel really bad about not being there and helping. "/ I hope everything is going well now, and I wish I was older so I could come out and help!

  • NO surprise here, sadly.

  • What a crying shame, I never even heard of this? I am sickened by this nation I once held in high esteem. All the attention we gave to Haiti, a people our government could give a rats ass about, and this was happening right here in our own republic. The media sucks so I guess I shouldnt be surprised, It is disgusting, I will never support them again. Fucking corporate money mongers anyway. My heart goes out to the original natives and my own Cherokee nation, still persecuted for what?

  • it's like no one cares about native americans.

it's like who cares that we took their best lands, destroyed it, made millions off of it and

and left the natives to their little piece of land in the middle of nowhere. out of sight out of mind. god i hate how the world is, sometimes i wish i was born before the settlers came here

  • if the american government cared at all the native americans wouldn't be pushed off to the side and left to fend for themselves.

it's awful how europeans came here took our land and destroyed it and our people and we are still the least cared about people. even african americans have more rights than natives.

  • UNESCO had long identified one of the ten poorest places on the planet as being right here on U.S. soil.....and NEVER have Native Americans made a point of calling attention to themselves about it.

  • I am always amazed at the ignorant government of the US. So eager to be praised for helping another country when its own original people suffer constantly. It turns my stomach to hear about the millions in aid to Haiti.. ATTENTION U.S. POLITICIANS YOUR COUNTRY IS DYING.

  • Come on Rich Tribes and Middle Class Native Americans of America DONATE...I have donated 1,000...Other Tribes in the area have donated and helped the Cheyenne River Sioux...Help our Brothers and Sistors.

  • This is an outrage!! Central Electric Company removed meters from homes where there were sick children and elderly without medication!!

  • i don't what to sound stupid but what is a rez?

  • Record low temps and record snow in Nashville, TN areas..It is Normal for it to be in the 50 degree range daytime here. It has Iced & Rained sleet & snowed.. 2 week + with no school.. rural roads closed. Weird weather indeed..Grandmother Earth is shaking her head at the wasteful Polluting, greedy people that can never seem to get along with each other the way Great Mystery meant for us to live!

  • This is my dad's quote, which I'm using here with his permission...."I don't have a problem with helping those in need, but look in your own backyard first."

  • that is a terrible thing to say, you seem to be saying that somehow they deserved this... come on,,, people everywhere should be treated with respect, and be cared for,,, not just those who YOU think deserve it,,, I feel bad for you.

  • My prayers are with all the people affected by this disaster. If I was rich or lived closer I'd certainly aid in any way I could

  • Unbelievable this happened in our own country yet all we heard about was something that happened in another place!! The USA is great because we can help others, but charity should start at home. Celebrities always going here, there, and everywhere, preaching about this country, adopting that 3rd world orphan. Why not help the orphans, the homeless, the working class people who are losing their homes, and the REAL AMERCICANS in your own country FIRST for once (or at all)!

  • @ddavisj66 So, two wrongs make a right? People off the rez don't get press so people on the rez shouldn't? I bet if the rez got attention while neighboring areas didn't you'd be complaining loud and long. What's with the contempt? You lose your woman to an Indian?

  • Pine Ridge, Lower Brule', Standing Rock, Rosebud, Crow Creek.. you name it.. Since the Major Blizzard on Dec 20,09..Most S.D./N.D Rezs' have been without electric, Propane, Food, Water, Sanitary supplies, Baby supplies & the Basic needs of a Human being to live. This is Americas Shame! & People like You ddavisj66 are the reason it takes so long. I agree with John & shar4tn

  • @ddavisj66 how assuming what you dont see o hear in media your not going to get exposure...many of my people freeze to death come visit some of the rez and youll be so surprise at how''third world'' living conditions are...it'll help remain you of so many broken treaties and why we resisted rez life....wado

  • Did you know that Haitians helped in the civil war? Now they erected an Haitian statu in Gerogia in their honor. It is time for people to stop blaming others and work together for the good of evry one. We are human being not animals. We are God's children. Act like it.

  • Actually, nobody was "immediately" mobilized. The storm was so bad that roads were impassable for a while, that means days not hours. Many froze to death because their propane tanks were not delivered. Water pipes froze, their cattle froze. How do we measure what is more important? I agree we need to take care of our own first. Period.

  • @ddavisj66 Man, you are a bigoted moron. I'd educate you on the facts but you clearly are too stupid or racist to care.

  • this is happening all over the world right now with this dumb snow storms.

  • So I've noticed, this is the craziest winter weather I have ever seen! Did you hear about the tornado in California?

  • @NewSpeakproductions: Did you hear about the snow in Hawaii?

  • Yes it is my friend.

I had no idea this had happened.

I live in the great white north, and have always been in awe of the power of a northern winter, but this is unbelievable.

Our thoughts and prayers are with them.

    Thanks for the share buddy.

  • Subscribed, This video is so important, thank you. I've already sent my donation throught Keith Olbermann

  • Oh my goodness....I've not heard a THING about this. Thanks Dan for sharing. I posted a link over on Facebook as well!

  • Let me know if I there's a place I can send some help for our fellow Americans!!

  • God bless the internet wer can see it all and make a judgement of all the real news!!

    KEEP THE INTERNET FREE!!!

  • where is the Army Corr of Engineers when needed???

  • Yep. I listen to a lot of radio and never heard about this. What is the soundtrack? Sounds epic.

  • The censorship of the news has to stop in this country.

  • I can't prioritze tragedy as both entail human sufering on an unthinkable level, but what I find the tragedy is how this story has been relegated to the back burners. If it wasn't for MSNBC's Keith Olbermann, I wouldn't have been aware of this and now that I DO know, what is it that I can do to help? Please email me as to what my community can do outside of monetary donations and what the most urgent needs are.

Forgotten, ignored, exploited or not, they are our people!

  • Seriously??

What the big deal about this? The tribes have been dealing with this kind of thing for generations, even before European man stepped foot on North American soil. It's just that we have internet now and were able to show people on the other side of the country about it, so people are going to make a big deal out of nothing. This kind of thing happens every single year, so why are people so concerned right now?

  • Hey,, where is all the heck is all those rich casino tribes who can reach into their deep pockets for one day and help the the Indians anywhere who need this help, for one day! One day, folks, Shame on them if they do not do this in behalf of the fellow indian bro and sisters and kids. Because what goes around, comes around and you know what we mean!!!!!!

  • Very Powerful video; great job

  • I live in Cheyyenne River right now.......and though it was kind of hard for me.......I dont consider it a disaster.......But i can see how it would be.....But there is still work to be done and FEMA is doing fu*king paperwork before they help the people.........WTF FEMA dont fail like u did in Louisiana

  • This will be more powerful it you put human faces and emotions into video.

  • I had no idea...

  • From my home in California I've been trying to get a hold of my family (Garreau's and Doug War Eagle) in Dupree and Eagle Buttte to no avail for several days. May help come to our people swiftly! Thank you all that have generously assisted from your hearts.

  • Yes, we must help American's first. We cannot afford to be in an unconstitutional war on terror and go to Haiti.

This is another reason we must all become self sufficient and not depend on the federal government.

I will share this video and spread the message. God Bless!

  • We are idiots not to help our own people, first and foremost.

  • "help our own people"

especially those we stole the land from

  • Living on the Reservation is like living in a third world county. RIGHT HERE IN THE FIRST WORLD OF THE USA!!! WTF???

  • Thank You for bring this to the attention of others. I have made my donation as well..

  • Thank You for bringing this issue to my attention. I have made a donation.

  • YOU are doing a wonderful service. Please help me to post the direct donation link that you have to my facebook site as I am soliciting help for my friends out on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation. I am providing as much info as possible but I believe it would help to have the direct donation link that you have here. Stay strong and Many Blessings to you!!!

  • Prayers and tobacco for the People of the Cheyenne RIver and Pine Ridge. Stay strong. We are with you in Spirit.

  • I have been trying to spread the word on this, it is tragic that it is being ignored...

Please keep this polite so help can be got..

  • Thank you for posting this very important documentation of what is happening on the Sioux Reservation. A facebook friend posted it and I will repost it on my FB page. Wow, I had no idea...I am so appalled and saddened. Thank you to all the brave and strong people who are working so hard to help restore power to this disaster stricken area. Many prayers for all concerned.

  • Let us remember our native people, not just the disasters the major news networks cover.

  • I put this video on my facebook, I wish I would have heard about this when it happined. Im Lakota Sioux and my mom goes up to Sundance in the summer up in SD. I hope all is well and help comes!

  • This is my home and always will be. I am one of the fifteen search and rescue workers out servicing a reservation that is 5400 square miles, that is 360 square miles per person we have been going round the clock since day one and finally got a break today. Thank you to all those who donated and all the hard work that people are putting in to help save this reservation. It is much appreciated in this cold hard time of need.

  • I am a member of the tribe and I also have family there. As I read the comments I am very upset with the language that is being used. Why can't you get your message through using decent language. Please stop with the language you are not helping. We are all upset. The media should focus more. Please use your voices in a polite and courteous way. Who knows maybe we will get more positive results. Is everyone who reads this forwarding it?

  • I am a member of this tribe. I have sent money, I have written letters to my governor, senators, CNN and MSNBC. Not one has responded back to me. I for one am very pissed off by the lack of media coverage about this story. CNN is so quick to remind us about Haiti every two minutes. I have celebrities down my throat telling me to donate every five minutes. I'm going to snap soon if I don't see one simple story on a major new program.

Thank you for posting these videos! Continue the good fight!

  • Where can you send money?

  • @NativePrincesa UPDATE: The phone numbers for the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) have been changed to: (605) 964-1313 and (605) 964-1314

  • omg dude wtf havent i heard of this

  • "Major media have purposely ignored the disaster directing public attention to Haiti instead." wow,That says it all.. My family and relatives went through this... I pray everyone is safe! Thanks for posting.

  • well it seems that this is the only vid on here of this particular disaster... and if it'shad only 680 views, ho much awareness is it goig to raise?? we have to try and get this out there

  • @hallz1226 Totally pisses me off! It's taken me hours to get a Youtube clear link to share on Facebook.

We're reacting in a big way. We just needed to know....

  • @3030indaface Don't be an asshole!

I have too many Native American friends who have contacted me and too many friends of other persuasions who aren't helping.

Don't start this "house nigger" business if you hope to be accepted by those of us who don't give a shit about your race or color or national origin.

I won't stand for it. And, btw: What the hell are you doing, except making people dislike you?

  • Shame on you for using such language and not even written clearly! Truly this is worth attention but words like yours will not help. Where is the common decency anymore?

  • Hopefully this brings awareness to the situation before it is too late.
