To the guy below don't get this bold. The bold touch 9900 (Dakota/Montana) is supposed to come out in august. 1.2 ghz (plenty for bb os 6.1) 756mb of ram. 2.3inch (?) touch screen and a keyboard more similar in size to the tour. 5mp camera hd video. For more info and probably more accurate you can search it on google. It's looking real good and some say the specs should actually be better than what has leaked.

ich had a Curve 8900 (i am from europe) and ordered just a 9650 from USA. Why does the 9650 have these slits on the left side near the comfort key? The 8900 didn't have it.

@RicePwnzer I own a Droid X, the regular battery lasts about 6 hours with moderate use, so I switched to an extended battery it lasts 12 hours, so a full day. However one thing that bugs me is that the email system on it, for Microsoft corporate is buggy. I go some days where I have to manually check my email and others I get it quicker than my BB friends. It's just I'm a college kid and I got the phone for internet and email primarily. This might make me switch to a BB.

@sammygod2 better apps are good, but its the basics on the phone you want to work like email on a constant basis which the corporate email on the droid x doesn't, which is why Motorola is handing out free touchdown accounts.

Oh another thing...if you're worried about the data on your smartphone? It is way easier to hack into an iphone or android phone than the secure servers of a BB...just a thought.

I had the BB Curve 8330 for a long time it was magnificent...then I got into trying all the "fancy" android phones and even a palm pre...Now, I'm back to a BB Bold 9650.

Nothing beats a BB for "real" straight forward, honest to goodness realible phone.

It may not have all the fancy games and apps that the iphone and the android phones have (which is really mainly for wasting time), but its the BB is the easiest to use.

I'm way too busy to be wasting my time playing "angry birds" anyway

@hd883low17 I just got the Samsung Epic..Takes some time getting use to the touch screen although it has a slide out keyboard. But what you just said is so true! I mean, don't get me wrong, I like a lot about the Epic but some things I don't. I'm still under a 30day trial so I'm still thinking about checking out a BB. Yeah, my Epic has all the whistles but I'm just not sure if I'm really diggin all the extra fancy stuff. So I think I'm gonna check out a BB to see if that fits me more :)

I got my bold the other day, but im having some doubts. I honestly havent had an extreme amount of time to dedicate to playing around with it, but ive already noticed that I have no MMS option, so im unable to send multimedia files, and I have Wi-Fi at my house, but cant connect on my phone. Why is this? Other than that, I dont mind the phone. Would these things change once I get email set up?

I just got mine on the 21st and it is a very handy phone. Those wondering about Youtube, it has no problem with any of the videos Ive watched so far. My only complaint is the web browser is not as fast as my girlfriends iphone 4, but I knew that before I got it.

I needed a phone that would be durable and handle work related stuff, and IMO this works better than a droid or iphone for that.

@luth9515 yes. on the curve you can barely hear the person you are talking to and its a great phone but blackberry built this phone for their younger crowd and first time blackberry users but the bold is the new version of the tour and the tour was the best phone i ever had. i might be getting the bold soon also.

@Xylitoody i was wondering this too. i personally like the 9700 better because of its look, size and the backdoor (i would be new to the "blackberry world"). but they are pretty much the same phone from what i understand. the only thing is that the 9700 is on AT&T and T-Mobile (in the US) and the 9650 is on CDMA carriers like Sprint and Verizon. so i guess it depends on your carrier but they're practically the same thing.

I can't stand that the space bar doesn't work well. I have to push it hard and then often times it will act like I've pushed it twice. Same with some of the keys. I'm coming from a Curve 8330, and although I don't mind the switch from the trackball to optical trackpad, this keyboard is driving me nuts. I feel like sending it back and switching.

Still, BBs are fast and have great battery life and when you're on the go every day, that what you really need.
