  • species,

Yeah, it's da bestest......really a Zen Relaxation/Meditation session, when I get down there. Aloha, UC

  • Looks like a Salt water Aquarium, Pacific Ocean aye.

  • Valhala,

Hahaha....I was trying to title it somethng like "diving in my aquarium"...yeah, it's a really great place for snorkeling/diving...

Next time, I am going to venture further out to the edge of Bay, gets really deep blue and bigger fish (Ulua/big Papio, etc.)

  • I do have a ? for you USC, how far out do you have to go for the water to be that clear?

I mean in the sense, I have done some skin diving right off the beach maybe gone out 8 meters deep and it's not to clear off Eastern seaboard of the US.

  • Valhala

Usually it's a matter of depth...so getting to 40 foot depth is good. On the south-east side of island is not so much sand, and a very strong current....so it stays flushed, and it's almost that clear just 100 feet off the beach.

Yeah, Continental beaches aren't likely to have "clean" water....typically due to large river run-outs... That's why Florida (south) has great diving water (no rivers from inland).

    Aloha, UC

  • I live in the Midwest and people dive here. except for people who dive in rivers for working on Locks and damns most of the recreational diving here is in Quarries. Not very interesting unless there is some kind of wreck or equipment in the Quarry.

  • Valhala,

Yeah, that's why I had to move to Hawaii.

I would die without an ocean around me, or I would have to think of very creative ways to make Quarry diving more interesting, and I bet people do.

Yeah, too bad rivers don't usually have good vis, probably could be interesting diving.

Well, I suppose if I lived land-locked, I would always be saving up for the next "dive trip", in the meantime pool-training.

    Aloha, UC

  • You are the man!!
