ahhh i wanna be a voice actress so badly, but right now all i can do is make youtube videos of my voice acting. :/ how do you even become one if youre a teenager?
My sister and I want to live in Burbank when we grow up. She wants to be a cartoonist and I want to be a VA. Thing is, I have trouble reading out loud. My brain will add random words into a line or it mistakes one word for another when I'm reading out load but in my head it's perfect. Does anyone know a way of battling this?
@EnvyIsMyPalmTree i have the same problem. try pointing to each word as you read it or put a peice of paper under each line you have to read line so you wont confuse it with another line, or practice what you have to read in your head before you read it. if you know what your going to say before you read it out loud you will be less likely to add or replace words. i hope i helped : )

@EnvyIsMyPalmTree Yeah. Read books aloud when you're at home. When you read signs, "hear" how you would say it in your head. All's you need to do is strenghthen the connection between your brain and your mouth. Good luck :)
This is not for a Japanese anime. It's voice-over work for American-made anime' film layovers.
The production is for a musical...or 'Opera Electronica' called "Paradise Lost: Shadows and Wings". The layovers are projected onto the stage live during the show.
Mostly you send letters to companies or TVstations who air for example pokémon or stuff like that, telling them that you'd like to make a voice test or an audition. You can also send a letter to an agency :3
Most voice actors create a professional demo reel for themselves which can cost up to about $1000. Demo reels are what you usually send into different companies if you want to get hired as a voice actor for a character.
Yeah! and i can get into cons for free! and peopel will say "hey say that line you always say!" and when i do it all the otaku fan girls go nits even though im not even putting much effort into it at all! lol

I like Japanese voices...these people are idiots...no offebce to them. When spoken in english it really sucks. I was hearing Kouga from Inuyasha in english and it was horrid. Kouga's voice actour is dude who does Wolverine from...umm...X-Men right? Oh but yesh. I agree with you. ^^;
It's Eric's opera... He wanted English...Besides, what's the point of having Japanese voice overs then hearing someone different for the real-life counterparts?
The song is called "Butterflies," and it's the from the electronica opera they're making these anime voice-overs for, "Paradise Lost: Shadows and Wings." You can find the song on Hila Plitmann's myspace page (she's the woman who sings the song AND is the lead in the show), as well as another song from the musical. Her husband, the composer (Eric Whitacre) has a few songs from the show as well, including "Sleep My Child", which is actually ALSO Hila singing all three parts. Hope that helps!
Whoa, wait. They stitched three tracks together with Hila singing all of them? Wow...I just thought the singers had really good bleding...heh. Well, it sounds great! That's all that counts.

This is total BULLSHIT. In anime voice acting you dub in your English/American voice to the picture of the actual Japanese cartoon voice that plays on a monitor in the booth. It's done to picture (also know as looping) and there's never more than one voice actor in the booth at a time. They edited out what would have been the most interesting part to people who don't know what this is or how it works. Bunch of Hollywood ass kissing.
actually dude when you actually know what this is all about most if not all of their anime voiceovers are just voiceovers and aren't to characters actually speaking on the screen, know what I mean? they're voiceovers. like an off-screen character talking. idiot. do research before you make such stupidly bold comments.
she really does. she's done vocals for the davinci code and stuff... I could be wrong, but I think she got honors from juiliard too... and I probably spelled that wrong. Yes, I LOVE her voice. Not as much as I love Eric, but yeah, she pretty much owns.
how do these people get started
