SLAYER/ THE EARLY YEARS /WOW /I WAS A YOUNG DUDE BACK THEN / I WAS LISTENING TO THEM ABOUT A YEAR LATER THOUGH IN ABOUT 1984-EARLY85 I WAS JUST TURNING INTO A YOUNG METALHEAD TEENAGER..
They were just getting started when this show was filmed no one knew who they were then but word spread like wildfire about the band and in a few years they were popular as hell. Just check out everything from year 1985 on up, packed houses.
Yeah Slayer wrote this song to be similar to Metallica's Hit the Lights. Hit the Lights was on Metal Massacre vol 1 and Aggressive Perfector ended up on Metal Massacre vol 3 but it was kind of like Slayer's attempt to emulate Metallica a bit who were also rising up in the underground with a similar type of music.
@MetalUpYourAss4life Oh we don't have that in LA! Tha LA scene has so many live bands, they've been spoiled. Go to Orange County where these guys are from, and you'll see that enthusiasm.
Thanks to SPEEDATTACK69 and Reivilo666 for the clarification about "Aggressive Perfector" and "Dissident Aggressor". It's been a long while since i watched this video (on this page). Peace everyone.
in 83 there were real moshes, it's just this particular concert that there seems to be no one there. Slayer were one of the huggest things to hit the underground scene in '83
yes, but of course, it's remarkable! i remember that this song is originally from judas priest. well i really like Slayer's rendition of this song. I remember that this has two types of speed. The speed on this live one is the one from the "Haunting the Chapel" 12"EP. The faster versions are from "Live Undead" i guess, and from the expanded version of the "Reign in Blood" album.
And not only ONE of the frikkin bastards in the audience knew or recognized that they see the birth of a fucking legend!!!

intro sounds like hit the lights, cause they wanted to surprise ppl, with way heavier stuff, than hit the lights on metal massacre album

HAHAHA - that feeble audience were utterly out of their depth !!!
Two guys attempt a bit of fist bangin mania but that's about it !
There was even a waitress wandering around with a tray of drinks...SURREAL!!!!
How times have changed. Pity the hardcore punk scene hadn't discovered Slayer back in 83- theyd've brought a bit of action to the pit.
I think punks really didn't get onto en masse Slayer until Chemical warfare came out.

Slayer was never that big in LA until after they joined the Thrash movement in San Fran.

this song was written by hannemen and king
its not a rendition of a priest song
SPEEDATTACK69 4 years ago 3
dissident aggressor is a rendition of the judas priest song, but aggressive perfector was a true Slayer song.
Reivilo666 4 years ago 3
I made an excellent Dissident aggressor video. Judas Priest with Slayer.

neoknivez youre wrong. ITS WRITTEN BY JEFF AND KERRY!!!. the original is from HtC/MM3 and the faster one without the cool intro is from RiB.
