I was wondering what Ross was thinking or saying when Arnel nailed the first few stanzas . . . or maybe it's just me.

I think he was in disbelief by the way Arnel ended the first chorus with such restraint and softness to his voice...open arms, he turned away from Deen and extended his arms out to Arnel while looking out at the crowd, with the expression of " can you believe it?".

yeah, I think he is saying, "boy, I can't believe he nailed that!" with the arm out to him giving him the thumb up and the sign of approval. Don't think I've ever seen any of the band members extending their arms to their previous lead singers like that! That give Arnel a lot of credit.
