  • 1:11 In correct German, it IS Deutsch-Unterricht and not Deutsch Unterricht. I said "should be" by mistake.

  • @Hardy30680 Es heißt doch aber Deutschunterricht, also ohne Bindestrich.

  • 1:11 In correct German, it should be Deutsch-Unterricht and not Deutsch Unterricht. It doesn't seem to be a big mistake but this mistake shows that the teachers don't understand their language perfectly. 3:52 Does she know why it's Ich lege eine gelbe Karte and not Ich legen einen gelben Karte? Do the students just copy phrases or do they learn the structure of the language? People should know why they say what they say.

That's german...its easy ;)

  • I can understand how someone who practiced intensely can learn to play cards and talk about the weather in a weeks time. . . but does that really pass for "knowing the language?!"

  • @Meier1821 what is this, google translator? haha

  • What's your next topic? Understand the quantum theory in a week?

  • Dude, I've been learning german in a school every saturday for 5 years... I can barely say a sentence, I know plenty of words but I'm terrible at the "Artikels" and putting them into a sentence in the correct order as well as grammar. A.k.a I suck at speaking german and I have no idea how I'll ever graduate from the school that I go to (I go by force, the teachers are terrible so I hate it)

  • @piratelovergirl101 Thank you for your input! I would like to visit Germany someday and so it goes that it would also be nice if I could speak some German as well. At this point that goal seems to be almost impossible but I am willing to try. Take care and good luck!

  • @bwild61 Yes, I've been to Germany once already and I did learn a lot of new vocabulary. I try and study as much as I can too, so good luck to you as well! Thanks :)

  • i only know a few words in german like fuck you and things like that.

  • Deutsch sechs tage lernen?? Das ist sehr lustig lol,die deutsch sprache ist schwierig..im not even sure if i just made sense and ive been tryn to learn german for about 3 months

  • @bayareaboss1000 It makes sense, tho its grammatical not correct

  • I barely understood their english!

  • They need to conjegate their nouns better- Wetter is a neuter word, they should say "das Wetter," not "die Wetter"

  • @MegaKrispy123 Yeah.. after only 4 days of learning. Impossible! :D

  • German is the easiest language for me, don't know why - it may be due to the fact I like German underground music!

  • After watching this video 5 months ago, I told my German friends about it and they told me it was impossible to learn German in a week. I have been attending German classes 3 times a week (3 hrs per class) for 5 months, and I am a living proof that my friends are right. U could argue that I am dumb, but 20 persons from 11 different nationalities should represent an average intelligence. Some have quit the classes, most are at the same level as me - very poor. German is a difficult language.

  • German basics is different than the entire German language. Yes, Im sure they learned a lot, but i bet they would not be able to speak to a fluent German speaker and be able to keep a conversation after just 6 days of learning the language.

  • so, when are they gonna learn to speak English?

  • I would love to learn German but non of my local colleges and universities offer it 

  • in 6 Tagen XD

  • I can teach English to a chimpanzee in 6 days..money, burger, beer, women, Nascar and Football.. Done!! How about that?!

  • German in 6 days???? I'm German and I've been speaking this language for 16 years and I still don't speak it well... xD

  • @FunnyPhantom13 its about the basics

  • @FunnyPhantom13 aber dein englisch ist gut!

  • @Uber400s Haha, danke! :D

  • @FunnyPhantom13 try english its lazier

  • @FunnyPhantom13 It says Basic german...

  • @panmetallica123 Lol, guys this was just a joke, I know what they say ;)

  • If you already learned english - it may be possible (lowgerman and basic english share the same ancestor-language). If you dont = learn chinese in 5 minutes

  • 3:52 she says Ich lege eine Karte. but does she know why it's ich and not mich? or why it's lege eine and not legen einen? i doubt it. i think it's important to know why you say what you say.

  • @ElectronicLover80 i think it's important to know how many times you write "what you say"

  • Some German that speaks English please please translate how we say ''Have you send my item?'' in German! It would help me very very much! Thank you!

  • @tsakistikeopaulis if you mean sent then "Haben Sie mir das *** geschickt?" <- *** for the name of the item as we dont say "Haben Sie mir den Gegenstand geschickt" , we are more used to say the name of the item

  • @tsakistikeopaulis i think it would be "Haben Sie meinen Artikel senden?"

  • How are you gonna master German if your English sucks like these two Indian women?

  • @verbotenco It's just an accent. Their English isn't bad. And furthermore, an understanding of English doesn't effect the learning of another language.

  • I would love to be fluent in German...

  • @lyricistgirl

*lol* most Germans aren't fluent or perfect in their own language.

You just need to learn the right faults to sound like a native.

  • @HesseJamez

Good point. I try extremely hard to avoid slips in my native languages (English and Portuguese) so I suppose it's only natural I would do the same in any foreign languages that I chose to learn. I'm a bit of a nerd in that sense :)

  • @lyricistgirl Practise

Besides my tipp for you: listen to german movies with german subtitles (those are to read, of course)! If you do it over and over, again and again, day by day, your mind will store all the repetitions and phrases - you have to educate yourself in grammar and vocabulary basics, thats obligational - but: thats the way, a lonesome stranger would slowly come into any strange language after a while.

  • @lyricistgirl me too, the german language sounds so bad ass!

  • @lyricistgirl and i would love to be fluent in english ;)

  • @lyricistgirl and i would love to be fluent in english ;)

Hoffen wir mal beide, dass wir jemals Deutsch beziehungsweise Englisch flüssig sprechen können ;) Okay i am near to the fluent english

  • it's Spaß and fließend

you write it with ß and not with ss

  • @Lara9296

  • The fastest way to learn a language is to travel the country for a month.

It's mostly important to get the feeling for another language.

  • und in 12 Tagen wieder alles vergessen....

  • Deutsch in 6 tagen???

  • There's a German band that I listen to called Tokio Hotel. Just by looking up what the words mean on a translation site really helps! I can say 2 and 7; zwei und seiben. Hallo is hello and yes and no; ja und nein. Pretty cool in my opinion! : )

  • well......i am german but....when you want to learn german and you want to speak it like the germans does it you can't avoid going to germany because there are so much words that usually no teacher teaches you (and i don't mean dirty words) and these words makes your german perfect ;)

  • @WC2010GERMANY >>But that is the same in every other language...

  • in 6 days <<-- thats the most funny thing i ever read !!

  • but i think, the thing is, that thay ll forget it soon in future.

after a week they cant remember anything

  • in german there are so many people cant speek german in germany

  • @franKruleR

  • This is an advert it does not teach you anything.

  • they can speak better german than many of the americans who lernt it for years in school...

  • wow u travel from india and iraq to get to germany to learn a language

  • fucking pakis

  • at 1:30 it looks like the girl on the right is shooting up heroin lol

  • Interesting method!

  • If you wanna learn german, you'd better not start in Bavaria *lol*

  • oha das haut mal rein...

  • I wish i could learn this language and live in germany for good.

  • @EpicUnreal

Do you know what you wrote? (:

Ich habe einen grube Penis = i have a pit penis Grube = pit

Hast du also einen grobe Penis = Do you so have a rough/raw penis grob= rough/raw

You meant to say großen Penis (groß=big, tall), didn`t you?

    Sounds funny (:

  • I´m looking for people from the USA, becausen I want to improve my english by writing with him. In return I help him to improve his german. I can also speak and help him to improve turkish, spanish and latin. I´m waiting for your answer

  • ich bin in berlin < that's all i know

  • @ForbiddenProfile

    Ich komm auch ausm Ruhrpott!

In whole Germany are different dialects, but I think the Ruhr area dialect is not that strong like others, especially bavarian.

If you want to learn German, never go to Bavaria! :D

  • I've read that an 800 word vocabulary is about the minimum of what it takes to be functionally fluent. So 900 words in 6 days is a real deal! As those two Bengali women live and work in Germany for several months, inevitably they will pick up more German and become more confident with their speaking skills. I'm envious!

  • 900 words in 6 days? Wow, I wish I could attend something like that. I wonder how much it cost.

When you learn a foreign language in school you would barely learn 150 words in semester or year. The slow and ineffective pace causes many students frustration.

  • Sign me up! They're saying sentences I could only say this term (my second semester learning German)!!

  • Wow,Thats impressive.Sign me up! i'd give my left nut to learn new languages in 6 days.

  • @82spoon82

I don`t think you can learn a language in 6 days without beina a savant.

Mark Twain once said, a talented human learns english in 3 days, french in 3 months and german in 30 years. He also said that german should become a dead language, because only the dead have enough time to learn it.

  • LOL!

  • is bavaria the best place to learn high german or standard german?

  • @Rico8458 Munich isn't bad for Hochdeutsch, but once you get outside of town, it's all Bayerisch. :-)

  • @Rico8458

No, you really shouldn't go to Bavaria. the Bavarian accent is in my opinion the strongest one in Germany.

  • english is ver easy but germann ohoo

    speech differences

    the car - Das Auto

    the man - Der Mann

    the flower - Die Blume

  • Hard to believe both German and English come from the same family.

  • Yeah english is like the black sheep. However, almost 60 percent of english words come from french. Strange stuff indeed.

  • The Hause - Das Haus

    The mouse - Das Maus

    The Mother - Die Mutter

  • Why is flower "her"? because it is feminine?

  • What's in English -' dit war schon am anfang klar'' ?

  • @gekkomatic

it's "Das war schon am Anfang klar" and that means something like "That was already clear at the beginning ... "

    I'm sorry if something's wrong

  • i die to learn german!!!!that would be my goal,,any help?

  • try playing games in german, or listen to german radio, or watching german tv etc...

i think its best to learn it by hearing a lot, also by a little practice in writing

  • wanna learn it? lolz haha =) wanna be your teacher xD

  • I agree with what MysticDragons said, try to get exposed to the language as much as possible. If you have an MP3 player, put some German songs or videos on it so you can take it with you anywhere.

  • the problem with it is that many germans speek really strong dialects like in bavaria or in eastern germany. its not easy to understand that even for a german (like me). if you hear a bavarian speak you wouldnt think he speaks german.

  • Hi i would like to learn germany language..........can u any one please help me..........

  • Wow, echt krank..

  • Right now im using Rosetta Stone, and it's not really helping me..does anyone have any suggestions on ways to boost learning?

  • I am also using Rosetta Stone, combining that with a book called "Learn German Quickly" and an audio course called Pimsleur. If anyone wants to work on German over the web with me or write in German, message me on my account.

  • hi, I want to learn German quickly.

  • congratulation

  • listen to it while you asleep your brain can learn without being awake

  • i listion to german music almost constantly every day even as i go to sleep i keep it playing i think its working great im not trying to learn it real quick though my grammar sucks lol

  • Can you please give me a big list of awesome (non-explicit) German songs? I'm looking for some good German music, but everything I find is crap.

  • there's nothing like that I can find in the states... I would do it. Rosetta stone is kinda annoying.

  • i can teach you german. ask me any question :D

  • How do you say "excuse me" in an informal and formal context? Excuse me as in "get out of my way" and excuse me as in "I want your attention."

  • if you want to push yourself through a crowd or if you ask for somebody's attention then "Entschuldigung!" always works fine - formal and informal

btw: if you jostle somebody then say "Tschuldigung" or "Sorry" or "Tut mir leid"

  • engschuligung

  • Why do we say "Ich verstehe" but "Ich kann mir vorstellen" and not "Ich kann vorstellen" why the extra "mir"? I've done very basic German courses in Stuttgart but I'm not able to practice speaking much other than in the class because I don't have anyone to speak to despite living here :) Thank you.

  • there are reflexive verbs to have a different meaning without the reflexive pronouns. Ich stelle die Uhr vor (I set ahead the clock, no reflexive pronoun) Ich stelle mir eine Uhr vor (I imagine a clock, reflexive pronoun "mir") i think that is why it differs from each other. hope you get it :D

  • I want to learn Swiss German,Swiss French,Swiss Italian!

  • thats so cool

  • It's easy to Learn German Live in the country for about 4 years like I did . Also it does not hurt to have my wife speak fluent German.

We now teach our 3 yr old daughter.

  • @tccompaq I know exactly what u mean, im polish and i've lived in US for 6 years and it was the best course I could ever take - people learn a lot faster under pressure of being "different" or simply because they want to be understood. Everyone has their own trigger but it is much easier when you have "no choice" but to learn it :).

  • @tccompaq What if we don't have 4 years to spend in Germany? =P

  • @tccompaq

if your from another country, how can you live in Germany for 4 years?

  • @acidfriend47 What?

  • @shizsnapple Oh i ment that message for "tccompaq" cuz he was talking about living in a country for 4 years.

  • I wish that I could take this language course.

  • Yea i want to learn german, creates more job opertunities, looks good on your resume, and would be a nice place to work, and most likely live!

  • Utterly fascinating technique!

I'm learning my first semester of German, and I've been learning random words I since was 10. I must say the German language makes a lot of sense. It's like putting together a puzzle, everything has it's place.

Also, if anyone of you saying that German is too hard, try Slovenian! It makes German look simple. XD

  • i cant imagine that, because i am from germay...

and i have no problems with this language

by the way; how is my english?

    write me a pm!

    apropo:

    wie ist mein englisch?

    schreibt mir ne pm!

  • your english is actually really good..

i am trying to teach myself german,

    but its pretty hard:P

  • Your English was pretty good.. I couldn't even tell you speak it as a secondary language.. Good job! If i could only speak German Fluently!

  • Wow, I need that for the Polish language. Gosh, is that hard!! ;)

  • you don't have "ü,ä" and "ö" on your keyboards but you can easily replace it with

    ue=ü

    ae=ä

    oe=ö

it's correct and better than writing "fur" instead of "für". so just write it "fuer" (=für) ;-)

  • aaaahm

    and wheres the joke?!???

  • It's not learning words that makes the German language impossible but its ridiculous rules of grammar. Separated verbs must have been invented by a fan of Monty Python's, while there is simply no making sense of genderisation (DER bikini, would you believe!). God created two genders, German has THREE! That just about sums it up, as does the rule that whenever feminine nouns are expressed in the genitive (possessive) case, they all become male (i.e., 'die' to 'der').!! It's a crazy language.

  • no, its all logical.. other languages are just simple

  • i have to agree, german is a very logical language

  • No one is saying that German isn't a complicated language. But people who claim that it is illogical have little knowledge of the language itself. Your comments are actually a good example: the feminine article doesn't become masculine in the genetive, it is declinated. The rules pertaining to declination always remain the same, a very logical aspect of the language. (By the way, the masculine article is not declinated "die" in the genetive, you don't know what you're talking about.) As for

  • your claim that there is no making sense of genderisation: again, uninformed. The patterns regarding genderisation are very consistent within German linguistics; the gender of a word has to do not with its current social connotations (as your outrage that bikini is masculine), but with its etymological formation. As for separable verbs, they're very logical and central to the linguistic construction of German. Of course they appear confusing to non-Germans. But that doesn't make them illogical.

  • "Etymological formation" my foot! It isn't us who calls words "maskulin" and "feminin" - it's you lot. For your information, masculine and feminine are words that denote gender in the sense of something being male or female. Separating the main and prepositional parts of a separated verb by the usual 48 words of the usually horribly long German sentence is, of course, entirely logical - NOT!!! Just simplify your stupid language and maybe people will then want to learn it (possibly).

  • I didn't start making progress in learning a foreign language until I stopped arguing with the things I didn't like about it and decided to try to make it feel natural to me.

You get nowhere pouring your energy into fighting reality.

  • You're 100% correct. My failure to learn German was almost solely due to my resentment from the outset of its arcane rules of grammar that added no value or clarity and constituted nothing more than complication for the sake of complication. I have the same problem with people who are awkward for the sake of awkwardness. Germans complain that no one wants to learn their language, yet they resist the need for its reform.

  • As regards the wholly unnecessary changes required in the genitive case, you are right in saying that I got mixed up, which just shows how far wasting nine years of one's life trying to learn this horrible language gets you! I'm not saying that German grammatical rules are inconsistent but that they're more often than not completely unnecessary. So, perhaps we can agree on their being consistently unnecessary? The UN won't touch German with a proverbial bargepole and I go with that all the way.

  • take spanish take Italian take togalo.. masculine feminine and neutral isnt uncommon....

  • I can't say I'm too familiar with "Togalo". Do Spanish and Italian in fact have a neutral gender? I'm not saying that genderisation is uncommon but that it is wholly unnecessary, adding no value to a language but rendering it much harder to learn. The great American writer Mark Twain, who spoke fluent Geman and was the son of two German immigrants, long ago wrote "The Awful German Language" railing against its illogicalities and unnecessary complexity. I'll e-mail you a copy of the text.

  • what is your problem with the neutral gender?

it´s just a characteristic of the german language- the same like roman languages (e.g. french and spanish) have two genders.

i can understand, that it is hard to lean for english native speakers because there is no gender in english.

but it`s just a question of practice. no one in germany will be angry if you use the wrong gender.

reading german textes could help to practise the language.

  • After years of trying to make some sense of German grammar, I gave up and did my own bit of rationalising, using "der" for everything, using only formal personal pronouns and refusing to separate the two parts of separated verbs (e.g., I would say "Ich anrufe Sie".). Everyone understood me and life became happier. I would advise anyone trying to learn German to adopt the same approach. Incidentally, the Angle and Saxon tribes who removed gender from the English language were from Germany!

  • i supose if you really want to learn something enough to teach yourself you obviously want to learn it but if your stuck in a smelly classroom at school thinking about the PE lesson that you have to go to next and wondering whether you are going to be doing your fav sport you obviously don't really give a flying f*** about learning a language at school, so far i am in top set for my language and in year eight and i can't even remember the french and spanish greetings/colours/shapes/ well nothing

  • belive me its not, this system is real!

  • It's not impossible, people do it all the time. That barrier has been broken years ago.

  • Ehm. its not in Munich.. Its in Kirchheim. Its near from Munich.

  • That's why the narrator said, "Kircheim, near Munich."

  • Das Stimmt!

  • The alpha state is a bunch of crap.

The best method for learning a language fast is the Berlitz method: native teacher ONLY speaking their native language from day 1!

It takes 3 months to have any real kind of fluency. And if you want references, NASA rellys on Berlitz to teach enough Russian in 3 months to go to Mir in Soyuz.

  • I agree, no other language just German speaking and all the time practise practise!

  • Deutsch lernen ist nicht leicht...das stmmt
