  • I like the Burg better with the new configuration, it was kinda too small for my taste. Now I rank it right up there with Tri-state for a nice facility and puttin on good races. I ran a fun fest, it was about 6 years ago and rainy drizzly all weekend. the track was slimy and seemed so small. I miss Barren County too, and Anderson was also a lot of fun. Banks are what make a track fun to me, screw flat parkin lot places. I'm 60 and would still like to give a sprinter a twirl,

  • my first time in a sprint car i was turning 0.5 sec slower than the pro was turning there. Never had driven any dirt racing in my life before that! Sprint cars are crazy machines but all you need are big balls and a lot of money, and youll do fine

  • damn its slick!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, that's the FunFest track. It's a three day event and they water the track Friday afternoon and then don't touch it the rest of the weekend. By late Friday/early Saturday it's an Ice Rink! That's why it's a good event to give someone an opportunity run one because the speeds aren't that fast. Nice hearing from you!! Craig

  • is that a midget or a wingless

  • it's a 410cu. in. non-wing sprint car

  • its a tq....

  • ????

  • I get to drive one for the first time next summer, i will b 17teen, boy i am going to be shaking like a leaf in that car, i got racing experience on dirt but nothing with that much HP

  • You will experience nothing like it in your life. it is intoxicating!!! ENJOY and good luck, GoKartingkid!!!!!!

  • i use to race dirt track gokarts so i got some dirt track experience and i have watched it my hole life so i hope to go out their and show them what i got. Thanks

  • 78hdshovel if you ever get the chance to drive one do it, My first time it took 2 weeks to get the grin off my face. It's one experience you will never forget!

  • holy cow. that track looks slicker'n scum on a louisiana swamp, and FLAT! glad he enjoyed himself. always something i've wanted to do, but never got the chance. nice!

  • Yeah, the track is always very slick for Funfest. It's a three day event with about 500 to 700 race cars. They water the track Friday morning and once the racing starts, that's it. It's a great venue to give someone their first shot because the speeds aren't that high yet, they still get the sensation and the thrill. I hope you get to experience it someday, hdshovel!!!!!! Good Luck!

  • man i love those dry slick race tracks talk about your pedal control good job first time out

  • Thanks smallblockman, we were pretty proud of Bret. The funfest track is usually very hard and slick so it's a great event to start someone out in a race car because the speeds don't get too terribly high and, like you said, it teaches the newcomer that he has to use good smooth throttle control.

  • lol, did he start racing weekly lmfao

  • no, we didn't have the money to run two cars. He got to run a few races in 2007 but, eventually wadded the car up (not his fault). We still have hopes of putting the

    2nd car back together.

  • ye, me and my dad did the jimmy sills deal, those things are so much fun, its rediculous, i race go karts on a weekly schedule, but nothing compares

  • you're right musicmasta! i did it for 10 years and there is absolutely nothing like a sprint car. it's great that you and your DAD got to experience that feeling! everybody should!

  • hell yeh, too bad the economy is so bad no1 can afford to try anyhting lol

  • dont forget your headsock dude, is ok i was prety rattled first time out too

  • nice job for the first time!!! like yeah its more dificult than it looks! i just started this past summer for the first time and holy shit man!!! i mean i'm only 14 and it was a blast of fun but way different!!

  • then you know exactly what he was feeling the first time that thing fired on the track, right EWSC37??!! LOL thanks for taking the time to write and good luck with your racing!! Craig Stevens

  • i can imagine that :) would be nice to test something like that in the future :)

  • doing real good for a first timer :)

  • thanks, LakseNN. He was told to stay on the tail and follow! Due to circumstances he wound up 4th on a restart so his brother rode out on the track on the quad so they would penalize him back to the tail. After a couple of laps he started feeling a little racy and wanted to get up in there and run with'em. He had fun, though!!!
