One of the greatests violionists ever. The Belgian school of violinists is something. In the past and the present it has produced many fine violinists. And Grumiaux is one of the most important examples.
From afar... greater than perlman, rubinstein, oistrakh, nathan milstein and many other violinists. his unique expressive and delicate sound make of him a very, very beautiful player. magic for our ears!!!!
This is by written by Mendelssohn, this is also the best violin concert ever written, or perhaps the most difficult one(if u want to play really good).
The Mendelssohn concerto is in some ways like the Beethoven. It is not difficult for the fingers, but it is very difficult to interpret. A musicians main goal is to play a piece like the composer would have wanted, but with adding their own personal touch. This piece has been played countless times and every interpretation has been heard already. Thats why it is harder to play than the other concerti.

it's not the hardest, by far. Think about some of these concertos: Sibelius, Brahms, Paganini, Tchaikovsky ...
