This is really a great scene. I LOVE supernatural, and have watched all episodes up to season 7 ep 10. And THIS is defiantly one of the best parts of all the episodes.

When I watch this I think to myself. That wasn't a fluke, death didn't just walk into that guy and kill him because he didn't give two shits, otherwise he'd end up killing everyone in the street. He's probably known exactly who he was going to walk into centuries before this, heard from Lucifer "Go to Chicago and reap", and thought "Ah, well while this little bitch of an Angel is in control I may as well keep the natural order for a little while longer, tough break child. I need a theme tune
If you notice when that guy bumped him, it was as if some of "life" had gotten onto Death, and thats why he had that look, stopped a sec, to brush it off, thus killing that guy.
oh death by jen titus or if you would prefer the original as i do then listen to the original by Ralph Stanley. i think he represents the words of the song better but both songs are good either way.
instead of the rapture i would love this to happen......where creatures not meant for the human eye roam in the darkness and demons killing humans leading up to a war which is the 7 year war described in the bible or whatever....what im saying is that i would love to live in the world of the supernatural series world.....where you can team up with some people to hunt down demons and monsters.....that would be a kickass job

A little addition to my post below (Sorry, ran out of space); God has the ability to resurrect basically everything, the archangels have this power too (up to a limit) - Death was imprisoned by archangels aswell, and his inability to claim every "soul" proofs yet again that is he not all that powerful.

God was never chained to a simple binding spell cast by a (in comparisson) weak archangel. I think we can safely conclude that Death is bluffing.
Death stronger then archangels? Well - he's immortal. (All other horsemen are immortal aswell.) That's his luck, but he cannot "kill" archangels. He can only reap them, after they have been killed by something else.
Death cannot reap War, Famine & Pestilience either.
@Eolath You're taking "evidence" too seriously -- this is just a TV show. Kripke intended the show to run for 5 seasons -- that was the original Supernatural ... the last thing he would do was give Death, the only, most awesome character intro for the first time in the series, then have him bluff. The music, the subtlety, the hypothetical representation of his power was what he used to display it, instead of wasting the show's budget.
@Eolath It's not a 'simple' binding spell -- it's cosmic "and you think, I can unbind you?" "There's your ridiculous bravado again of course you can't." Notice how in Season 6, "God's Weapons" are introduced -- it's clear there are certain weapons and imbued objects that contain God's power -- Lucifer may have used one of these or something similar to bind Death. Apparently 'spells' are the ultimate power in Supernatural.
@Eolath Based on this new obvious 'evidence', we can easily conclude that Death was telling the truth, because it's ridiculous to believe he wasn't, at the second-to-last episode of Kripke's reign when he gave the character the ultimate intro.
I personally think the reason Kripke made Death so powerful was to slightly distance the heavily "Christian" themed finale with something a little different, by using Death as a mysterious "Antithesis (Direct Opposite) of God". Life(God)/Death.
@Eolath "I'm more powerful than you can process, and I'm enslaved to a bratty child having a tantrum" - Why this is true: It's the second-to-last episode to the big finale and the end of Kripke's reign/the original plan for the series - he gave Death a colossal intro. He made him mention he can Reap God, and that he's probably older. Dean looked terrified of him, much more so than Lucifer. Subtleties and visual/verbal representation along with a significant episode - Death was telling the truth.
That has to take the most hardcore award for being so undeniably distrubing...yet peaceful. Damn that one gives me shivers Supernatural is absolutely wicked best portrayal of death in a movie ever...
I love this scene too, the music with the slow motion is awesome and so powerful! I can watch it over and over again, it is just so captivating! Don't mess with Death!
It's worth a note. Other than the Cadillac in place of the pale horse in revelations, the square piece on death's ring is white. In Asian culture,particularly china, the color white is always symbolic of Death. Very fitting.
I'm going to use this song as my entrance theme for my next fight. it's so intimidating I wish they would make complete version of the song maybe in the future but you got to love it the way it is right now

Kripke intended the show to run for 5 seasons -- that was the original Supernatural ... the last thing he would do was give Death, the only, most awesome character intro for the first time in the series, then have him bluff. The music, the subtlety, the hypothetical representation of his power was what he used to display it, instead of wasting the show's budget.

@Eolath It's not a 'simple' binding spell -- it's cosmic "and you think, I can unbind you?" "There's your ridiculous bravado again of course you can't." Notice how in Season 6, "God's Weapons" are introduced -- it's clear there are certain weapons and imbued objects that contain God's power -- Lucifer may have used one of these or something similar to bind Death. Apparently 'spells' are the ultimate power in Supernatural.

@Eolath Based on this new obvious 'evidence', we can easily conclude that Death was telling the truth, because it's ridiculous to believe he wasn't, at the second-to-last episode of Kripke's reign when he gave the character the ultimate intro.
I personally think the reason Kripke made Death so powerful was to slightly distance the heavily "Christian" themed finale with something a little different, by using Death as a mysterious "Antithesis (Direct Opposite) of God". Life(God)/Death.

@Eolath "I'm more powerful than you can process, and I'm enslaved to a bratty child having a tantrum" - Why this is true: It's the second-to-last episode to the big finale and the end of Kripke's reign/the original plan for the series - he gave Death a colossal intro. He made him mention he can Reap God, and that he's probably older. Dean looked terrified of him, much more so than Lucifer. Subtleties and visual/verbal representation along with a significant episode - Death was telling the truth.

It's worth a note. Other than the Cadillac in place of the pale horse in revelations, the square piece on death's ring is white. In Asian culture,particularly china, the color white is always symbolic of Death. Very fitting.
