This just proves how amazing Sandler is! I have full-hearted respect for the man and I always will. I still cry everytime I watch these scenes. No matter how many times I watch this movie I just cry. Call me whatever you wanna call me but any person who feels this drama is because he can see and go beyond a simply script credits and a soundtrack. This is life guys, this s something that happens all the times in many places, in many hearts. This movie is GREAT. My congratulations to all the people who brought this out.

If you turn up the volume, you can tell it's Roger Daltry's voice, but, more importantly, he tells Johnson at one point in the film that Quadrophenia changed his life. In order to revert back to a life before his family, he's surrounding himself with the things he loved at an earlier time before them -- mainly his music, which was largely what we consider classic rock today.

Just did some research on the internet (it's not just for porn, you know?), The Who's version was used during the film with Pearl Jam's version playing only during the closing credits. Besides...as I said before, it makes sense for him to listen to The Who's version as he states earlier in the film that Quadrophenia changed his life...the Who, not Pearl Jam, changed his life.
