Great song from a great band in great musical times. The drummer john stanier is also in many other bands including Tomahawk, Battles and an Aussie 3 piece called The Mark Of Cain(TMOC). They are abloody good band and very underated, as is helmet.
@AngelsOfSilence6 Haha... good man, I love what you did there.. excellent bit of racism, wrapped in a hilarious stereotype. I'm going out on a limb here, but seen as you are exhibiting impotent rage over my "goblins and satan" comment, and your miss-spelling of 'drunk' and 'wife' , I would guess you're a very serious metal fan from a non-English speaking country... with this and your username, i'll guess you are Nino Drejer from Denmark...? @Geekman333 I didn't already know man, thanks for the education... @RiverOgemahgeshig haha, I was laying a heavy jedi buzz on ya buddy... seen as i'm Irish, getting ya to speak like a British dude is particularly cool... strong is the force in this one...! good day to ya sir....!
@fatguyaaron Bollocks is an English swear word meaning testicles. When someone says something stupid or nonsensical we say "You're talking bollocks". Hope that clears things up.
Helmet fit right in during the 90's. Their look was different from the norm, but they played heavily distorted hard rock. I've read that they were the East Coast's answer to Soundgarden. Fitting description I think.
Their early stuff was AMAZING & influential. It was angst-ridden noise rock with an industrial feel. Then they changed & now the music feels redundant, formulaic & subdued. I suggest fans of their early stuff seek out a band called Pore, who released 2 great albums called "Dorsale" & "Rotation" which are both early Helmet meets Godflesh.
Dude music these days sucks I barely ever listen to it because it is just whiny bullshit. I love listening to songs like this where its bad-ass and you don't find that these days.
I'm sick of people bashing the 1 or 2 % who dislike and getting thumbs up / top comment ratings for saying actually nothing at all. Why not even talk about some famous pop kid here? So pointless and stupid.
Now for something completely different: Helmet! Awesome!
Fuck Nirvana as well as the Deftones ( I imagine that's where your name comes from). I went outside the venue when the Deftones were playing with Mastodon and Alice in Chains because they were so awful.
@roh00002 yeah as for the gay bands hell life, n cant sync, backstreet garbages etc whatever the fuck are like the jonas sisters.... music is getting worse now adays its not even worth calling it music not to mention hip hop and sub genres of that total stink pile garbage
In the 90's I had a couple of friends playing in some bands and back then it was sooo hard to get even listened, there was no mp3 or myspace or fb or shit that would help you spread your music through the world, and I think that is the reason why now there are no good historical bands anymore, because there is so many stuff that you can listen and not everything is good, back in the 80's and 90's started the music genres and it was like 5 genres and that was all.
@extmalcolm boring... your lack of debate capability is making me yawn. But I understand, you're just an 11 year schmuck who likes limp bizkit. ;D have a good day! or at least a good reply! hahahah
@extmalcolm So, you've being sniffing into my profile, good, hope that you learn some good music and at least I had one good response from you, I don't understand why am I stupid when in the first place you were the one putting blahblahblah instead of something constructive and bullying around everyone like I read on your profile too. ;)
@armandozapata Because people get so mad when I say it's stupid to put comments like "so and so disliked this 2131 times". Also I've known Fugazi for a while. I knew about them before I knew about Minor Threat and Rites of Spring actually. I was just saying that okay, we know there was no internet in the 80's and 90's. There is now and thees great bands that have myspaces and facebooks. Also it's not that it's bad it's that YOU don't like it.
@extmalcolm Dude, this is a free comment share website, I can say whatever I want and you can say whatever the hell you want, I just laughed about your blahblahblah careless comment but you took it wrong. Being an "old" age listener, I like punk & HC music since sooo long, I just like to put good comments about things that had happened in my point of view instead of bullying around, you should try it too, I see now that you're not a schmuck or a limp bizkit listener, Orchid fucking owns man!
@armandozapata But there are plenty of great bands now. The internet helps them get out. There is a lot of shit out there. But theres a lot of great bands. Also Will Killingsworth is in a new band now called Vaccine if you didn't know. They're not really like Orchid but still good.
@extmalcolm one good band that I like so much is United Nations, shame that is just a side project of Thursday's singer Geoff Rickley who also accepted that he had lots of Orchid influence in this band, other band that I like is The sound of animals figthing, another side project, but good one, good shit around those guys, I've heard Vaccine but not my kind of taste really, but good thou
@44eelz you're right! I really like movies just the way they are, not HD shit, also I personally hate 3D movies, that want to make all 3D nowadays, Spiderman 3D, Avatar 3D, Alice in wonderland 3D, shit, even Yoggi Bear 3D! Maybe I'm just old haha
@armandozapata Nah there was more than 5 genres, in fact some genre's go back farther than ya think. Industrial music gets its roots from bands like throbbing gristle back in the seventies, and even some techno-oriented music existed in the seventies like Jean Michel Jarre, who you never got to listen to, because without myspace and youtube and other media sharing sites to share songs for the express purpose of just sampling, you weren't ever exposed to anything but the radio.
@Mduenisch yeah i know, it was just a saying, i mean, in terms of rock there were so few genres that you could count with one or two hands. i also liked techno and industrial like nitzzer-ebb :)

@armandozapata pop music f'n media machine discriminates against more agressive forms of music because they fear the truth.
