i have a friend who payed for lessons from broderick and my friend has an 8 string. broderick showed him some interesting jazz pieces by slapping bass registers on the 8 string and plucking chords. he recorded the lesson but swore not to upload. ive seen the lesson and all i can say is HO-LY shitballs!!

Chris does not go completely berserk on Endgame although he could shred it up. There also videos of Chris playing classical and jazz, etc. which means he is not simply a shredder. He is a very versatile guitarist and overall good musician.

BTW, I believe this video is from their live DVD in which the part is called "Chris' Solo". This means Mustraine wanted him to play something cool. Alone.

I find people who use the phrase "wank" hard to take seriously. I mean, Jimi Hendrix would stand up in front of a crowd and play stuff that made people go insane then. Is that not "showing off"?
It's basically an excuse for people to criticize though with more ability, than can play things that they can't, so they have to say they are showing off.

Chris does not go completely berserk on Endgame although he could shred it up. There also videos of Chris playing classical and jazz, etc. which means he is not simply a shredder. He is a very versatile guitarist and overall good musician.
Yes he was rated for more than just technique, because technique didn't really exist back in the 60s.
BTW, I believe this video is from their live DVD in which the part is called "Chris' Solo". This means Mustraine wanted him to play something cool. Alone.

this guy cant really go berzerk. he can play play fast musical exercises that hes been practicing in his basement for years. poland, friedman, pitrelli could whip out some very tasty improvisations on the spot and make them impressive too. plus how sad can broderick get- playing his lick from BETCHA CAN PLAY THIS during a live show. he is a great player i think, but people should not dare compare him to the true masters.

very good in the circus technical guitar hero, but much less good feeling about the guitar, because it is always easier to repeat the school gates, solfeggio by hand, that really be creative in composition with the instrument, it requires an effort of genius, he did not. it is nothing more or less like all the guitarists in the world, very, very loud with his hands on his instrument. ..!!!

In technical terms I would say that he is a better guitar player than marty, but I see him as a robot pretty much, dave says play this and there ya go. but marty was an amazing guitarist because the guy had a tone in which the second you heard it you knew it was him, and a technique that was fuckin amazing. Chris is a total drone in is playing style. he plays like his teacher had a gun to his head while he turned up the metronome in his scale practises lol............

naah, technique doesnt make music...music is an art, and art has the quiality of expressing something...anyone can play fast arpeggios on scale shapes if they practice a lot of time...bout creating nice phrases on the guitar is a total different think...
so stop saying palying the guitar is about skill and technique...yeah, is an important factor, but there a lor of guys who doenst play so clean, or that cant sweep that express a lot more than this guy

Fast and complicated tech stuff is usually a result of exaggeration and a lot of time of practice.
The true genius is about to be a bit simple but not simpler.
Guys like Chris Broderick is not those who got it very easily,but a lot of practice just does its results.Jimmy Hendrix is used to be awesomely talented,and he still the only one.

Yeah. I think playing fast is awesome (and I can't do it) so long as it's applied in moderation. When you hear Chris play for Megadeth, his solos are more melodic than technical (though I still can't play them :P)

i didnt say everyone can play it, and i know its difficult, but alot of people CAN play it. and repeated arpeggios are easy once u have them down. he repeats the arpeggios and calls it a solo. if anything its an exercise. and sure it still sounds cool
