i think its funny has hell i live in N. E. where they want to put up wind power and yet all types of people complain that the wind mills are too ugly to look at and they dont want them but yet you come on here and put all this effort to stop coal. how about this put all this effort to change people's minds about wind mills and coal would then start to get weaker till then coals to strong to die CLEAN COAL POWER but then again hippies are useless GO COAL!!!
i live in dulap tennessee, blowin up the mountains to make roads to the valley, has made it to where we had to go to city water, because the wells were contaminated. so now this small town, where everyone had delicious well water to drink,we now drink water that you can smell, that comes out of the sequatchie river. its a shame. the creeks are almost all gone. i used to be able to throw a rock in nay direction to hit a creek, and now i have to drive an hour just to find one to swim in
mtr is cheap for coal companies but if mtr was baned coal companies would dig mines instead wich would create more jobs & the environment wouldn't become as damaged & peole are also often diagnosed with lung diseases around mtr flooding results from run off & the ground not able to absord the water reclamation is just planting grass and shrubs and not much else grows rivers are covered and polluted with sullfate fish are poisened and then then the animals eating the fish are poisened
you people make me sick, constantly complain about mtr and coal, yet you all still use it.what do you think runs your computers.hey someone needs to step it up for this cause,be a trendsetter larry,or maybe the loudmouth woman on here saying were under attack(very stupid by the way) shut you power off,its simple, get some solar power, maybe a windmill, but untill then shut your damn whining.
unfortunately, it doesn't look the same afterwards at all. It's hastily planted up with one or two sorts of green shit where there used to be hundreds, and there's no topsoil so hardly anything will grow, even years after it's done being mined. Also, the toxic coal slurry doesn't go anywhere, it just sits there in massive impoundments forever. The biggest argument against it is that unlike logging & other types of minig, it will never, ever regenerate.
10 problems with mountaintop removal 1. its puts underground miners out of work 2. it ruins the drinking water for millions of people 3. blasting and dust drives Appalachian people out of their homes 4. bad flooding (no trees to soak up the rainfall) 5. coal sludge spills (watch the whole video) 6. it destroys mountains permanently 7. kills animals like bears and deer 8. kills miners 9. kills nearby residents like 3 year old Jeremy Davidson crushed by a flying boulder 10. ruins fishing
10 problems with treehuggers1.wont work2.constantly complain, yet still use what they are complaining about3.wont bath.4.dont have a clue about reclaimation5. wont put up a solarpanel or windmill at thier home.6.have WAY to much free time on thier hands7.think they have all the anwsers.8.dont have any real leaders to show alternative methods, why? coal electric works fine9.couldnt make it a week WITHOUT coal power. 10.worried about fishing and hunting when they NEED TO GET A JOB. go coal
Mountaintop removal doesn't seem that bad. No miners get caught underground that way. plus the explosions are way cool. What's the biggest argument against it? Cause while they're working things aren't green? y'know, after they leave they plant all sorts of green shit. so it looks the same just flatter so it's easier to build a power plant or some other useful structure where a big dumb mountain used to be.
so we cant bomb taliban on cemetaries, but we will blow up a mountain with our own people buried in them?
