@stingercrufts If they can't afford them then why do they actively remove animals from shelters and put them to sleep? They actually go to shelters and offer to adopt them out but they never do. And like I said most of the animals are adoptable. Did you know 2 PETA workers were going around and offering to help people find homes for their pets and as soon as they are in the van, they are put to sleep and thrown in a dumpster. Yeah, sounds REAL ethical.

@thesomebody3 YOU CANT TEST ON CELLS. Animals are not made up of the same type of cells. Theres skin cells, bone cells, all sorts of stuff. To properly test diseases you'd have too see how the immune system would react and how THE WHOLE body would recover. Cells are no where near as intricate as the whole body is. Scientists can culture cells and test on that but that only reveals the basics of the reactions.
@craftbrosify you CAN, of course you can, it's true that they are not as reliable, but the first stage of testing is testing on cells, they test on cells that have to do with the medicine/ whatever, and they obviously test it on liver cells. Animals are very different to humans; so all the experiments are pointless, whatever reasons you will find to justify animals testing; it is cruel and should be stopped, just think of the pain an animal has to endure, and most test are for new products.

All shampoos, cosmetics etc. are tested on animals. Even though it may say on the bottle "not tested on animals" it is because they didn't test the FINISHED product on animals but the ingredients have still been tested. Companies can legally put "not tested on animals" on their products as long as the finished product was not tested on animals. If you can find a product that is completely free of animal testing it will say that the are not responsible for any serious reaction. Just a fact :)

You are highly misinformed. I am vegan and the reason I support animal rights has nothing to do with my own ego, at all. I am not a member of PETA, though, so I can't really speak for them.. but I think 90% isn't quite right. Most of the people that care about these issues, such as myself, have one main concern.. and it's about animals and needless suffering. Have you ever cared about something so deeply? It can get very frustrating when people dismiss what you are saying.
I'd also like to add that this business about picking out the worse stuff, since I hear it often in regards to these kinds of videos. So what? This is terrible stuff, and it doesn't matter if what you see here is the only times these things have happened .. a lot of this stuff is hidden camera footage which isn't easy to come by anyways, so there probably isn't that much filtering. They get any footage they can, so people can see the injustice and maybe have empathy.

Animal testing can be cruel, but if humans were tested on people would loose their freakin minds. And it happened before (especially during the holocaust). And I've seen a video of a families' emotional turmoil of a love one who took an experimental pill and died. Either way it's bad, but that's life. As much as I dislike seeing animals suffer like this, I dislike seeing humans suffer even more. Given the choice between human children suffering from AIDS or cancer and animals suffering to provide cures for such diseases then I'd rather the animal suffers. I'm loyal to my own species first, unless my own species kills people and animals just to be cruel and not for self defence or research, and then I'll value animals over that particular person, but not humans in general.

And like I said most of the animals are adoptable. Did you know 2 PETA workers were going around and offering to help people find homes for their pets and as soon as they are in the van, they are put to sleep and thrown in a dumpster. THEIR BIOLOGY. What´s the point of testinf cosmetics or medications on reptiles, K9s, dolphines or what have you? Animals will always react differently because they have a different biology.
Take for example skin cream tested on dogs or reptiles. Dogs don´t have sweat glands and reptiles have scales. What if you give a cow or a bear an overdose? They might get dizzy but a human will die for obvious reasons.

To properly test diseases you'd have too see how the immune system would react and how THE WHOLE body would recover. Cells are no where near as intricate as the whole body is. Scientists can culture cells and test on that but that only reveals the basics of the reactions.

@craftbrosify you CAN, of course you can, it's true that they are not as reliable, but the first stage of testing is testing on cells, they test on cells that have to do with the medicine/ whatever, and they obviously test it on liver cells. Animals are very different to humans; so all the experiments are pointless, whatever reasons you will find to justify animals testing; it is cruel and should be stopped, just think of the pain an animal has to endure, and most test are for new products.

All shampoos, cosmetics etc. are tested on animals. Even though it may say on the bottle "not tested on animals" it is because they didn't test the FINISHED product on animals but the ingredients have still been tested. Companies can legally put "not tested on animals" on their products as long as the finished product was not tested on animals. If you can find a product that is completely free of animal testing it will say that the are not responsible for any serious reaction. Just a fact :)

what would you want to do instead of animal testing? potentially lethal products being released to humans? testing on humans? or how about using a different type of test that doesn't work as well? why don't we look at all of the laboratories that do animal testing with full painkillers, minimal permanent damage, on products that do have the same results on humans that they do on the animals? lets look at all the humans lives saved because of animal testing, and all of the achievements we have.

You are highly misinformed. I am vegan and the reason I support animal rights has nothing to do with my own ego, at all. I am not a member of PETA, though, so I can't really speak for them.. but I think 90% isn't quite right. Most of the people that care about these issues, such as myself, have one main concern.. and it's about animals and needless suffering. Have you ever cared about something so deeply? It can get very frustrating when people dismiss what you are saying.

I'd also like to add that this business about picking out the worse stuff, since I hear it often in regards to these kinds of videos. So what? This is terrible stuff, and it doesn't matter if what you see here is the only times these things have happened .. a lot of this stuff is hidden camera footage which isn't easy to come by anyways, so there probably isn't that much filtering. They get any footage they can, so people can see the injustice and maybe have empathy.

Sometimes I just get really frustrated with people when they respond to stuff like this with misinformed, ignorant, or just rude remarks. I don't understand how someone could not care about this and also claim to be a human with empathy and not a psychopath.
This whole experimentation thing just makes a complete mockery of life itself. We have no respect whatsoever. Like, imagine if the creatures in this film were human and that's kinda how I feel when I see it.

animal testing is done for legal reasons. In the ideal world, we should bypass this and go to human clinical trials directly. But we need this because ppl always sue for money whenever things go wrong. If we just change ourselves and stop suing, the world will stop testing on animals.

Animal testing can be cruel, but if humans were tested on people would loose their freakin minds. And it happened before (especially during the holocaust). And I've seen a video of a families' emotional turmoil of a love one who took an experimental pill and died. Either way it's bad, but that's life. We live in a world that is full of unfairness, and there's not much we can do about it.
