ive got the xs engine in mine, but its only been rebuild and a k&n filter on the carb...ive bilsteiend and gti subframed the suspension...but i need good cheap effective ways of upping the power abit?:)

Big fan of 205's but an RS Focus would own one on a track. I know 205's handle really well but the RS's diff is just amazing.

205's aint for drag racin, there for a quiet country lane at night or a twisty rally, ive only got a 1.4 with abut 95bhp nd i kept up wiv my dad in his 180bhp diesel leon, twice the power!! plus i was havin alot more fun aswell!! i hate it wen people say they have a really quick car and go on about it for ages wen i know theyve never had as much fun as i have in mine!

Who gives a shit about straight line speed? Really? Anyone can make a 205 go quicker than pretty much any car. The focus would nail the 205 round a track, again, who cares?

205's are so much fun, as are Focus's. Both ledgends in their own time. I own both (ST170 and Group N 205gti Rally Car) so i'm not biased, both awesome cars. You cant have fun in a car without turning the steering wheel, these cars should be driven sideways to get the most out of them!

ehm, well the 205 have been known for there extreme reves and how good handeling thay have, so on a track thay have come out so good.

nice. do you know what the differace if between the gentry (and CTi) engine is, compared to the GTi?

the gentry makes 102 ps, and the Gti 122.

Is it restricted, or is the ecu differant maybe?

The Gentry has 105 BHP & the GTi 122 but the Gentry has higher torque, you notice the difference in HP when you go topspeed. I think a GTi can go 200 km/h +/- but topspeed of my Gentry is 186.

@testacorsa150 its something to do with 16 valves, and the biggest inlet valves in the buisness! high compression, and with the right g/box u can get 0-60 in like 6.8s and 45mpg at 70! im halfway through my 2.0l mi16 conversion. wish i had the 1.9 tho. they are like hens teeth in the uk!
