  • Marvelous, Alex! A really, really nice version of one of my favorites, too!

  • @wajobu

I'm very happy that you liked my version wajobu.

  • Has very special meaning for me this one. Very impressed that you played it so well,.. and I'm guessing you worked it all out yourself again?

I have to learn this piece before I leave this Earth - simple as that ! ( So thanks for showing us how it's done...)

  • A lovely piece of music indeed, and very well done! Thanks for the beautiful moment...

  • My favourite Hackett acoustic piece - very well done!

  • Great!

  • Excellent playing Alex. I also love this tune of Steve Hackett's.

  • You're giving me no choice but to fall in love again and again and again ;) It's marvellous.

Great audio mixing job btw, sounds perfect.

  • I wonder if Mr. Hackett has seen your channel? He has a YouTube channel himself (hackettsongs), and I think you do his music proud (as well as the other composers you perform!). Not long ago, Keith Emerson gave props to a young lady who does a smashing job on his music (particularly the technically challenging Karn Evil #9 2nd movement), so at least some musicians love to hear other people's interpretations of their work.

  • @artgoat

Thank you! I don't know about Steve Hackett, I guess he's much too busy to be watching videos on YouTube :P

It'd be incredible though. The girl you're talking about, yeah, Rachel Flowers. She's so wonderful, no wonder why she got props from the master!

  • Utterly masterful playing and a top collaboration ! One of your best (in my opinion). I like the commnet about copyright....got the same with one of mine within seconds of posting it -although that was a Zep track, not SH, in my case. You wouldn't mind, but you then get pop-up ads on the vid for some things that you'd rather not be associated with.....if you know what I mean !!

    Cheers,

    Jim

  • @jimguitarfan

Thanks a lot Jim, yeah I wouldn't want to have any ads at all, it's a bummer getting your videos targeted anyway. I see YouTube is working now more than ever as guardians for the record companies filtering any kind of possibly "suspicious" activity. I'm sure they're all just doing it to protect the author from any felony against the musical integrity of their original works ;) Arghh!

  • Asombroso. Deberíamos hacer alguna colaboración :)

  • @frankibio

  • @bernab

A ver si consigo grabar esos temas y subirlos a youtube.

  • Fantastic!!!!

  • a real master class Alex to learn and play such stuff from ear to this level is a gift

long may you continue to share your gift with us

  • @centralscrutinizer9

hey Russell, yeah I'll keep sharing as long as they'll let me of course (another copyright warning when I posted this arghh). thanks to you for collaborating on bringing this to a completion. Cheers mate.

  • Congrats to you and centralscrutinizer9. When you listen to Steve's music you can enjoy all the wonderful imagery and melodies. However, studying and performing his music exposes all of the subtle phrasing and techniques, that for me at least, exposes the true artistry and uniqueness of his syle and his music.

There are a few of us out here in youtube land who are virtual students of a true master and teacher. I hope you all continue your endevours and the posting.

  • @TheHacketteer

Hello TheHacketteer, thanks for your comment and for subscribing. I have to check out your channel thoroughly , it's not easy to work out and play some of these tunes as you must surely know. Always enjoy when someone posts this kind of material. Thanks for posting as well.

  • Very nice music. The collaboration is excellent and well balanced. I am unfamiliar with the composition but like it very much.

    Ron

  • @13crickets

Glad you liked it, check out the album there are some great tunes.

  • Really nice. You've the maestro's touch...very inspiring.

  • @hrmerr

  • ONNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEE

    TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

    FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUR

  • A Real Beauty!

  • Fantastic. And how the hell you figured out that picking pattern in the end section I'll never know. I like it better without all the reverb of the original. Brilliant.

  • @troubleclef

    Thanks so much Maestro!

  • How do you learn all this amazing stuff?? :D

  • @nicklassayshi

I learned it by ear as usual, lot of patience and a bit of luck, you know ;)

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Awesome rendition of a great tune! You rock.

    Guy

  • @guyeylon

So glad you liked it Guy!
