  • We got this on Chile, I wanted one so badly but my parents couldn't afford it. This was also the price if you were one of the first 5 to complete the gijoe album. I was about to complete it, only 8 stickers left...

Agh the price was about $160 USD

  • lmaoo i had like six of these back in 86, took our butler wilbrook

five hours to put just ONE together......discontinued in 87,

and haven't seen them sell it since. funny thing is, i haven't

opened the rest so i basically have 50,000$ chillin in the garage....now

that I think about it, we could've opened the other five and somehow

connected them all to create a Mega Ultra USS Flagg

  • As a kid I asked my dad for one. He could not afford such a monstrous toy. He made me one with a couple cardboard boxes and duct tape. Close enough

  • shit!!!!!!!!! i still want one

  • i had this , it was so damn big!!!!!!!!!!

  • I had this monstrosity complete with box in the closet for 25 years. When my son was born 3 years ago I placed it on eBay and sold for $485. Others selling theirs got about $150 less for it. My wife was on 6 months maternity leave and needed extra cash.. :( . This thing was longer than a queen size bed. At least I have plenty of pictures for memories.

  • God i wanted that thing so bad !!!

  • @ardeasofdentarg On ebay for 10 $

  • I've always wanted the aircraft carrier as a kid I saw it at Toys R Us assembled huggge!!! When I was 9 had this circled along with some Joe's, & Transformers in the Sears Christmas catalog didnt get it but got the Air Striker,Flint some Transformers on Christmas morning. Any kid that got the air craft carrier was lucky & the most popular kid in school.

  • I wanted this like Ralphie wanted his b.b. gun. I guarantee if I got it it would have been my first orgasm &, yes, it would have shot my eye out.

  • Nostalgia at it's finest.

I wonder what it does when you put the batteries in it?

  • I got this for Christmas 1986, it was the BIGGEST pain in the ass to put together. I used a board to place it in the basement so it could be moved around

  • you had to be a real spoiled brat to have one of these.

  • @digz1590 AMEN !! This thing is fucking huge !! I'm 35 and i don't remember this thing. It's a monstrosity lol. I'm surprised i don't remember it. It's so big i'm shocked right now. lol

  • Does your mother still hang out at dockside bars?

  • Any one know where I could buy one of these things aside from ebay?

  • This was the biggest pain in the ass to put together when I was a kid in 1986. Took me 3 days to put together. To move it around we built on a 8 foot board, however once together it was so much fun to play with

  • wow! I never knew this aircraft carrier even existed! a must-have for fans!

  • $110 back in 1985 is $216 today. So this baby was really expensive.

  • @Vebinz

  • I had one! Must be the coolest toy ever and boy it was big...

  • greatest toy ever made. too bad they don't make them like this anymore.

  • geez what a bigass piece of plastic lol

  • There were only two kids in my entire school that had this and both of them became instant heroes in the eyes of my fifth grade classmates and I.

  • the plane are really oversized but the aircraift seem huge!

  • the aircraft carrier was one of those toys from my childhood that put you in the elite if you owned one. I had an extensive gi joe collection as a kid, but did not own the big guy.

  • 7 1/2 feet of toy insanity....and all for $109.99

  • This thing was a nightmare to put together....I got it for christmas when i was 8, I had to put it together....took a month

  • Ah the Holy Grail of toys as a child. The one toy I always wanted and never got.

  • my older brother and uncle entered a contest and won 2 G. I. Joe - U.S.S. Flag Aircraft Carriers we had all are gi joes and one of the aircraft carriers at my grams house and when my cousin moved to Florida they took everything i was about 8 we went from a bedroom full of gi joes to nothing

  • That would have been fucking terrible, if it was me there would have been some kid at school who didnt believe all the stuff i had, and by the time a playdate was organised, old cuz had taken off with all the stuff.

  • i had this thing. shat my pants when i walked into the front room on xmas. it was a hard year too but the folks knocked it out the park with this

  • I got this too for Christmas and remember walking into the living room and seeing this box....taller than I was......awsome.

  • @twifofi I busted a gut reading your post bro !! lol Love it !!

  • My husband said he used to TRY to step over the thing, but he had to just walk over it, it was SO huge!

  • oh snap!! I had one of those! then they made the shuttle which was just as huge! why aren't toys as cool then are weak sauce now?

  • I had one of these! It was so big I used to sleep on the deck at night! If memory serves it was right at $100.00, and that's why I never had any jets for it.

I love how the kids floor just happens to be ocean blue :P

  • that thing is huge they don't make toys like that now

  • 7 ft long, took up half a bedroom.

  • Holy shit , we didn't have that in the Netherlands....

  • well, I remember the box in a store in belgium wilrijk. so i imagine it to be impossible this wasn't available in holland.

it was 10.000 BEF, 500 NFL or 250 EURO

  • Nice toy i remember this ,but i thought Lego Carrier would be coo l if ever made.

  • There is a lego carrier out there. Don't think it's lego brand but it's lego blocks or some shit. Def bought myself one for my 20th birthday. I miss my childhood so much...

  • Damm that is a big MOTHERFUCKER!!!!

  • I remember a kid who had the aircraft carrier. It rocked!

  • This was the holy grail of toys for a good year and a half or so.

  • This advert must have been every parents worst nightmare! Oh no jr saw that advert an wants me to throw out the coffee table for some over priced hulk of chinese plastic. plus it dosent even come with the the fighters so ive got to shell out for them too!

  • The cost of the Sky Strikers weren't so bad, $15 then (dunno what it'd be adjusted for inflation, maybe $25-$30), but problem was that they could be tricky to find because every kid had to have one!

  • the sky strikers were not 15 back then DEFINETLY more expensive than that

  • Wrong. According to the YoJoe! website, they originally retailed for $14.95 in 1983. Adjusted for inflation, they would be more by today.

  • Wha??? 14.95? ARE YOU KIDDING MEH?

  • SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED?? i have this thing and is a LOT of friggin assembly ! i spent a whole night putting it together...but it was worth it

  • In the 1985 Sears Catalogue, this was listed with a $109.99 price tag. I really want to get this someday, but boxed versions run for $3000+ on ebay. :-(

  • i bought 3 auctions with missing pieces that gave me enough to build one carrier total cost 285$

lol i remember when i was a kid i thought i could put it in my pool but its just a series of plastic beams that the launch deck rests on.

  • The Sears Catalogue was the coolest. I'm sure a lot of Christmas list were drafted using that book as a reference.

  • I know mine was crafted from the sears catalogue, plus the old montgomery wards catalog!!

  • lol!

  • yo nunca ude tener uno y a mis 18 años al final navegue en el de verdad...jajaja gijoe

  • this was the biggest and best gi joe item you could buy, i agree, only the most rich and spoiled kids had it.

  • SOME assembly required!?!? Screw that, man. My buddy got one for his birthday one year when we were in Grade 4 and it took 6 of us something like 3 hours to build it and put all the decals on. Totally worth it, so super sweet.

  • Only the rich kids in our town had this. It was massive.

  • lol "where is the admiral?!" "he's at the wheel!" i love how toy commercials are ridiculously fast paced so that its hard to realize they dont make any sense

  • I used to think that you had to be one super spoiled ass kid to have one of these, it was like over $100 if i remember correctly. It was the equivalent to seeing a Ford GT on the street nowadays to me "Cool, i wish i could have one of those..but who am i kidding" Lol

  • whatever kid had this was gawd.

  • Jesus Christ, that was huge. I don't even remember the toy :O

  • This was it!!!! This was the best G.I. Joe toy ever!

  • Hah, i remember this...my parents refused to get me one:)

My friend had it though and it was truly massive.
