All “peaceful protest” does in a situation like this is force police into a no-win situation.
If they are legally told they need to disperse because they are breaking a law, then locking their arms together is resisting arrest. Plain and simple.
Yes, resistance and protest may be necessary at times, but these people need to realize that when you are revolting, it is never peaceful, and it is never safe. You *are* taking up arms against the government, and if you aren’t going into the situation knowing that you may be hurt in your pursuit, then you are living in a fantasy world.
Most of the time Peaceful protests don't result in illegal activity. I've been to Wall Street The government the police are full of shit. I've seen people getting maced in the eyes for no reason, beaten for no reason at all...only because they wanted to speak their mind. Fuck the government....I am not governed...I am not going to the FEMA camps. Some Wall street people are there and 9/11 truthers....There are no terrorists there....just the people...The people are terrorists.
While I don't condone what the cops did it looks like the protesters were blocking a path. It was something I noticed Occupy protesters doing a lot, obstruct traffic to provoke a response. And it does that much at least so good for them.
It's often said that my rights stop where yours begin. Does blocking roads and doors constitute a violation of someone else's rights? And where do property rights come into play?
