I love how whenever someone covers a song you will invariably have a throng of purists who feel the need to bash the artist who is covering the song as ripping-off of the original artist. ie. "The original is so much better, Feist is a hack."

When I am really in love with a song I play it for my friends and anyone who will listen so that maybe they will in turn fall i n love with the song and be open toa new artist. Why should it be different for someone who simply has a larger audience?

Don't look at this video as a stolen thing from Sarah, I knew Sarah a bit, and I'm sure she's cool with it. She would be flattered by Feist doing one of her cool songs. That's just the way she is. Sarah is a pretty cool-cat, so stop with the comparisions. They are different people. Let them be different. Absolutly 100% correct. Sarah and Leslie are both super talents but compring them is like comparing apples and oranges. Be happy for the variety. Many singers have broken into the mainstream using other peoples stuff, it's the way the music world works. Patsy Cline's signiture song was written by Willy Nelson. many of The greatest composers are dead, should there music have died with them?
