@m00se321 the winners make the history. No chance. My grandfathers were fighting against Soviet Union and their story is untold. Just an example of the history blinds: what do you know about armed anti-communist resistance in Poland and Romania? In Romania the armed resistance was till 1965, which means 20 years after the end of WW2.

@m00se321Here you got a German Vet Story: My grandfather was a german soldier and had to fight in Russia during wintertime. He frozen off his feet because this dammed asshole Hitler only gave our soldiers summer-uniforms! After the war doctors had to cut off pieces of his legs every third or fourth year. He died 1982 after long years of suffering. He once told me: " This dammed war is a monster that won´t let me out of his mouth...it´s eating me up! "

I've talked to former German soldiers from the Second World War myself, they have no disrespect to the allies, as the allied soldiers didn't disrespect their own enemy aswell, it's strange how 2 enemies showed more respect to each other, more than some idiots today do, too many people learn from hollywood these days, how upsetting.

I`m originally from Halle/Saale and this man is right. There were a lot of snipers in the inner city buildings in Halle. My grt-grand father and his brothers were some them, too.

@marcusos1111 I don't know what it was called but there was an interview on battles in France with men from both sides telling there story on the battle they were both in! It was a great story and i know there are a few books out there that cover story's like that just wish i knew the names of them.

I was born '82 and somehow I felt since I was 5/6 years old,connected to this war ( earlier life?).

However,I had the luck to speak with a lot of these veterans.From Waffen-SS to Brandenburger,normal soldiers, tankcrew and a Luftwaffenpilot.There is no native german family in GER those ancestors were not fighting anyway.Just a true story: as the father of my grandfather fight deep in Russia and earned Iron Cross,his wife hided people & got later a Red Star from DDR.

So it is in GER,the nation growed by its situation.I could tell a lot of stuff which I heard in much talking rounds during the 90tys til today,but the space here on youtube is to small.

But this guy from Brandenburger,born in Ostrava(former K.u.K & than GER) spoke czech,polish,german & russian.Told me about operations in August '39

You are a true American hero sir, and i want to thank you for being a an American patriot. I would have voluntered at age 18 to join the forces, but I have diabetes and am not allow to join.
