I know this video is now classified as aeons old in terms of technology, but I have an older Macbook Pro (2007, running OS 10.4) and use iMovie 08 for my videos. I've tried everything to improve the quality of my videos (recorded with iSight) but have found my camera resolution to only be 640x480. No way I'd be able to get HD videos out of that. I've already uploaded very low resolution videos in the past (I suck at video!), but I guess what's done is already done.

I don't get any errors at all. It exports just fine and I did it exactly as you do in your example. The quicktime export is NOT in HD. Neither is your video explaining it. Your example can only get 360p. This does not work, please any input would be helpful. And please post an actual HD vid proving it works

I have a DSLR clip and would like to adjust the audio. How do I adjust/trim the audio please? I would like to cut out part of the audio.

If I hit the audio button I can adjust various audio effects but cannot find a solution to trim/cut parts of the audio that I do not want.

It seems easier to add and adjust a sound track to a movie clip from the Imovie library or Itunes than adjust a simple audio file that is attached to a video file!

hey nice video. Ive seen similar ones on youtube and most of them recommend export "movie to quicktime movie" and file format " H.264 " ... but this ultimately makes my 6-10 minute videos 40+ minutes to export (usually end up 1-2 GB in size) to my desktop and then another 4-6 hours to upload to youtube. What Im asking is: is exporting using MP4 and using file format "MP4" faster than the current method Im using? Cheers.

so when you export it to quicktime... it doesnt go straight to youtube does it? do you have to import it back as mpeg and then export to youtube?

Rather than doing that, once you've exported it to quicktime, manually go to youtube and upload the file there - if you try exporting to youtube through imovie 08, it often limits you to 640 x 480 resolution, so it'll remove the HD stuff you've just done!

I have imovie 08' and i made 2 videos but one day randomly my imovie wouldn't work for like a week so i updated it and it was back to normal but my videos were not in that box on the left corner of the screen, so i went to my finder and then to movies, and click on imovie projects and both of my videos were in there, but when i would click them to get them to playy it would just open up imovie but wouldn't play the video. what do i have to do to get those videos to play again.

Both actually. The options are in different windows but set them just like Jon says and you get an HQ or HD option on the video once it's uploaded. The video I just uploaded gives the option for HQ and it was a 198MB size file.
