Do you think maybe the threat that the Taliban and al quada posed to the US homeland was over stated?? In a matter of a few months, the Taliban and elements of al quada were easily eliminated in Afghanistan by mostly covert CIA personnel with some US military assistance. No question action needed to be taken but at this cost, billions of dollars spent on all these government contractors. Government and others prey on the public's fear.
