When you upload a video, you're given the option to allow or disallow external embedding. I always disable it. That means the video cannot be played from any source other than exactly where you placed it. As a matter of fact, even if I add it to my favorites, it will say you have to go to it. It won't play from the favorites.

So the only way it can be played elsewhere is if someone used a download tool to remove it from this location and place it elsewhere. Which means they're now violating the copyright. And I am the one would have to pursue the violator, not You Tube (typical). I did find another one of my videos somewhere else and e-mailed the offender. I now have to fill out a form that indicates that I am the owner of the copyrighted material, to get them to take it down.

As for addressing it with You Tube, you can complain until you're blue in the face. They pick and choose which of their Terms of Use they want to enforce. Someone here on You Tube has used a couple of my videos in a manner that violates the Terms and You Tube has done nothing. The only account that is trying to address problems, and You Tube has said they'll cooperate is YourTubeAdvocate. But so far that doesn't seem to be working either.
