get the rpm's up in first and you won't need to use the clutch, I'm a big lad and i can get it up without clutch keeping the same height is a different story though.
Try going a little faster in first gear, then rev the bike around 6-7000 rpms and it should be better. Remember that slow wheelies are most dificult to do so just try to go a little faster.
when your doing your clutch ups in 2nd, get up to about 55 mph, or around 8000 rpms, pull in the clucth with your index finger only, so you can pull up on the handle bars still, rev it to 12000 rpms or so and slip the clutch as you pull up and you should be able to ride it for a few hundred feet
ill just say this. i was doing 1st gear power wheelies on my 750 a few years back. looped it, lost some skin and money. i can't imagine why people would recommend power wheelies especailly learning. unlike a clutch wheelie the p.w. can go on and on and like me, you could roll back to much once you hit balance just from sheer acceleration. clutching it is much safer since once you find the right power band and settings its automatic.
i really have to clutch in first gear and throttle it at the same time to get it up.. really sucks.. that it needs so much work =S manage to get it up 1-2 times on second gear.. feels like its to weak :S or maybe its just me.. i suck though.. but working on it.. hehe..
i will give you a couple tips... start at around 20-40km(im from canada :))sit further back on the seat remember you want to slip your clutch you do this by bringing it in then rev i would say around 6-7 maybe 8 grand as the revs come down let it out
Here are the principles at work: The lower the gear, the more prone the bike is to power-wheelie. So in first, you'll get the easiest wheelie, it's harder in second, harder in third, etc. However, aerodynamic forces are also involved. At high speed on the freeway, the wheelie reaches a point where the slipstream is helping lift the front of the bike. I recommend you learn all of this one someone else's bike, by the way, and while wearing full leathers and the best helmet money can buy.
get going until you hit power. ease off so you right below were it pulls good. then gas it up w/o clutch (your not ready for clutch ups, dont attempt on public roadways)
never look at ur gauge when ur clutchin it up, thats how u loop out. Do it all by feel, play around with it and get used to it, baby steps is all i have to say
you couldnt be more wrong! You dont want to be doing it off the power for a start, always clutch it,the guy in this vid has got the right idea. As for going too slow,it makes no difference. You can bring it up off the clutch from an absolute standstill if you know what youre doing,i will post a video of that to prove it when i get time as we are in association with a wheelie school.ALWAYS CLUTCH IT UP.
I don't know where my rpms are at when I clutch it but I just give it a light throttle down while the clutch is in. I'm guessing no higher than 7k before it comes up. I've gotten better at it I feel. But I'm not comfortable with it yet.
@ricktryharder Uhmm. Whoever told you that you can only powerwheelie in third, is pretty dumb, not to mention, giving wrong and bad advice is going to get people hurt, very badly. You can power wheelie UP to 3rd gear. Powerwheelies in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, for a 600, is easy. You'll need the clutch for anything 4th & above.
Yes this is all in 1st gear. I've tried doing it in 2nd but its just too hard. Also I don't have a working speedometer so its a bit harder to know how high my RPMS are in 2nd. I get it fixed on monday, and thats when I'll try 2nd gear pops
good job man think im going to nut up tomorrow and learn to pop that shit up

more gas then clutch find the balance point and how the throttle, and right foot cover the rear brake
slidefreak 2 years ago
I've never clutched my bike up. Power wheelies for me have been the easiest method.
johnheather1 2 years ago
@johnheather1 power wheelies are for girls though...not as precise and balanced as a clutch up u fag
born2makk2007 1 year ago
i go about 30 in 1st and tap the clutch and twist the throttle. or 2nd at 55 but that is harder
R6Pimpin 2 years ago
get going until you hit power. ease off so you right below were it pulls good. then gas it up w/o clutch (your not ready for clutch ups, dont attempt on public roadways)
standardgear 2 years ago
if your learning then clutch ups are best ,power wheelies will fuck him up while learning
mrgeneralz 2 years ago
@mrgeneralz your wrong,
when clutching, it transfers more pull and way quicker
hes going to over rev, drop the clutch and it will take him by suprises and he'll try to hold on accidently twisting the throttle...
standardgear 2 years ago
You need alittle more speed.
arispe94 2 years ago
dude, give the bitch some gas....Give it full throttle it comes up and let off, easy.

whats the problem with power wheelies ???
xtmracer91 3 years ago
when i power up my r6 by the time its up im out of power, with clutch you can have a lot more rpms left to play with
danknug121 3 years ago
good point.

I heard you can power wheelie an R6 in 3rd but I don't want to be going that faaaast just to get it up, I'd rather practice 1st and 2nd gear pops.
ricktryharder 3 years ago
yea my boy has an 05 r6s and he can power it up all day in 3rd gear....them r6s come with a 47 tooth sproket stock so them got some power

@ricktryharder dont watch the rpms learn to go off the sound. and to clutch it up 2nd preload the forks and give more throttle

@ricktryharder Pretty sure you need a tachometer for that.
