The insurance companiies demanded that the wording "all" people are required to have insurance, otherwise they wouldn't back the health care plan, the Pres orig planned it voluntary. Before Pres was elected he stated he would match the insurances'premiums, so the premiums went up . A few years back people said you couldn't be democrat and be christian, now you say you can't be a christian and be republican. Bunk!

No offense. Health Insurance companies are businesses and they are supposed to make profit.. So they could stay in business. Business is the same no matter if you are a pizza shop to an insurance company. You have to make net profit (profit after expenses and wages) in order to stay in business.
A public health insurance company would mean that your taxes would have to be spent in order to make it profitable. If its not viable then you would have to raise taxes and that doesnt help anybody.
