  • Haha, this is like John McGuirk commenting on chess. "I put a X over the bishop that's on F7. That's pretty much a...piece a' candy sitting there. Ya wanna eat it, but it's... uhhh... that's parta the plan. It's a trap..." Hilarious! Pretty entertaining actually.

  • His uncle sucked at chess.

  • Morphy is a legend, but the opponent does not know even the principles of chess :)

  • Wow is all I can say. And he was 12. Unbelievable.

  • Paul Morphy was a great player for his time, and had some of chess' most interesting games, but the games you've shown show Paul playing against fairly weak opponents...

  • do his uncle know how to play??

i mean like even i can see most of the moves

i find out what he going to do when his uncle take his queen

  • What the fuck. You can't castle if your king has been in check. Those are new rules??

  • @InkosiDeVinyl wrong! as long as ur not in check or castling through check ur good only thiing is ur king a rook cant move before castling

  • @InkosiDeVinyl his king is not in check anymore when his uncle took his pawn

  • @InkosiDeVinyl

No that isn't right, you can still castle, just not when in check, or if the king or rook has moved, and you can't castle through check, but the rook can go through an attackers line, say when castling queen side.

  • At 2:50 isn't Nf6 or even f6 better than Bf8?

  • @Penguincw2 i dont think his uncle know how to play :D

i mean like his uncle make soo many wrong move

  • Thanks so much for putting your time in to make this. Paul was pure genius.

  • good videos... better when you mute the sound ;)

  • Paul is a crazy calculator. Yes, this maybe a weak opponent, but the mate is still beautiful. The King was mated by a knight in a very open position. His escape squares are guarding by two long range pieces and the knight. There are no wasted moves if you noticed. Every developed pieces are either sacrificed or contributing to the mate.

Maybe we should add more video with other lines that the opponent can make and still be mated.

  • chess was so awesome before opening theories

  • @Master8laster Agreed, I pretty much quit playing because of opening theories getting so ridiculous. Chess960 is the way to go in my opinion.

  • @Ratd0g28 lol

thats all ive been playing lately, im kinda scared ,because since ive been playing 960 i feel standard chess is stale.

  • @Ratd0g28

Forget opening theory and study the end game, You only need to know the basic concepts in an opening.

I've found studying loads of openings a waste of time compared to time spent on the endgame.

  • @Master8laster

I know dude. It was a free flowing battle of creativity. Now every opening has been analyzed to the point where you have to spend a day to set up your pieces

  • This transposed into the Danish Gambit..

  • Cheers! Interesting video!

  • please try to speak more fluently

  • @KanoneUnteralle

Lets thank the person who gave us the video instead of trying to belittle him. Thank you

  • Black simply doesnt adequately defend the position. This honestly ISNT amazing chess by Morphy. He just happens to be playing an incredibly weak opponent.

  • @Fenrisulv987 Keep in mind that Morphy was a newbie.

  • yeah, black didn;t develop, too slow, against an aggresive player as Morphy;black shoul of moved the queen out;h4 outpost

  • Wow.

  • wow thats crazy i didnt see that pattern, lol 5/5
