No prob man id ask the same thing you did. Thank you for putting this together ill check those sites you gave me. Godbless p.s. id like to try to get him into the hall if at all possible do have any hard eveidence of his club designs the angle and number system he created i cant find anything online. An article we have say he helped design and change irons way way back.
@mrbill33000 Check the 2nd link I gave you and use search function. Lots of articles without pics (that did not interest me that time). Also take a look at golfwithmehlhorndotcom. Stay in touch in case you need any further help.
@h1e2x3 no joke?? its a long story but he really was my granfather. last time i saw him i was 6 or 7 years old parents split i never saw him again. after he passed in 89 i got a few things from him. my mother just passed away she had had a lot of stuff on him. i always knew he was a prof golfer but wasnt aware of all his following or his accompliments as a pro. he was old when when i was a kid took me for some lessons back when i small but thats all i remember of him. i never picked up golf.
@mrbill33000 Forgive me the previous question then. It is a pleasure to meet the grandson of the great Wild Bill. The swing sequences that I used in my vid were taken from efootagedotcom and la84foundationdotorg
@h1e2x3 You cannot mentally direct an action and be fluid at he same time. Keep all your high tech cameras and words. None compare to my dad and Mehlhorn for getting someone to swing the clup beautifully without thinking.
Wow, I've been waiting for something like this on Wild Bill. Wouldn't it be great to find someone who could digitally remaster that overexposed video at the end. Still, terrific! Thanks.
Didn't much like the way Mehlhorn stopped his left forearm at impact (compare somebody like Smith), but he made it work with ridiculous timing, and some of his ideas about certain aspects of the swing are still as relevant today as ever.
@aardvaark069 It's one of the three release types differentiated by Sir Henry Cotton. Cotton wanted to depict the three possible scenarios of how the clubface changes its orientation in relation to the ball in the strict impact zone and, therefore, he distinguished three possibilities:
a. slap-hinge release (vertical change of orientation);
b. crossover release (horizontal change of orientation);

Absolutely stunning that you're taking the time to put guys like Mehlhorn and Macdonald Smith out here. Thanks a million.
