  • i've been looking for this song and words since i first heard it early 70s in montana. thanx u tube

  • Saw them in Portsmouth in 1974 . They never got any better than this

  • Grupazo poco valorado y con hermosas melodías; up wishbone ash

  • Inspiration for Spinal Tap? Really awful music and lyrics. I'll stick with Zeppelin.

  • @luupyful Led Zeppelin sucks just as much

  • This is great music!

  • Thank you god for the best classic rock band Wishbone Ash. Perfect concert in 2010 in Poland!

  • so beautiful ~ ageless and timeless ~

  • well, now we know what Dale Gribble from King of the Hill did during his college years

  • WA's Argus,EBB's Meat Album and the Pretty Things Parachute the great lost triad of 70's albums. If you want to add fourth maybe Blows Against the Empire...

  • @44elisdad There are a lot of those lost 70's albums. Try Manfred Mann's Nightingales and Bombers, or Kansas " Masque "

  • The reason I play the way I do, & why I got my flying V!

  • Great Gig

  • 日本では、必ずコピーしてたよね。

  • I remember well this band in the 70's. The older bro had every album by them. John Peel loved this band for their English ballad writing and melodies. It was the era of Brit folk rock. This band did it well. But wow those tapestry style shirts.

  • Wow, this is love at first play.

  • Sprawling and pretentious - but that was the style back then. It's atmospheric and makes for nostalgia.

  • in love with 70s!!!!

  • @juliyjacke and the 70's were my college years and first time away from home. Need I say more!!

  • hi there Wishbone fans plizz look at this

GARY MOORE - BLOOD OF EMERALDS, Polish Tribute to the Irish Guitar Legend

  • Wow, now this is music!

  • mag ich sehr...meine jugend...

  • Man I could watch this video forever-takes one to know one...............

    Lord Craig Goldsberry

  • These guys were my FIRST concert. I knew nothing about them, and they BLEW us all away. Everything was amazing - musicianship, sound, energy, lyrics....

    Loved it.

  • it rules! I wish I could of saw them when I was young-now I am 51 and still enjoy them-oh well

  • OMG how i love this sound.

    The LEGEND never die.

They was, they are and they will the legend.

  • Dis is good V8 music,we used too listen to on the road, yes i only know 1 lady who got this on LP,nice music

  • the best

  • The great Wishbone Ash and early-Grand Funk Railroad have always been a great influence in my youth and still are

  • Ted turners playing is just wonderful, so much feeling in it!

  • Killer! Though the lead guitarist looks like a child molester in his hat/sunglasses combo.

  • @ntsmith311 Maybe in your days but not in ours LOL

  • How can I not like a song that was out when I graduated high school, but you had been there was not this mass media we have now to spread the word and get good out there becuase of both the techincal abilities were not out there and the powers in charge were totally against this rebel music. The says that I hate most of all is when the people of my generation now say they never sold out, they just bought in, you don't have to sell your soul to the devil and compromise what is in your heart.

  • Saw this lineup about 73 or so in Bloomington Illinois. Such a great band. Dont recall them having much commercial success here but they did in the UK. Two things that dont get made anymore is land and bands like Wishbone Ash. Long Live!

  • Im searching a song from Wishbone Ash, in which there is somewhat like an electronic voice imitating the sound of the guitar.

    Someone know such a song?

  • @BesorgterSimsSpieler it might be "rest in peace" from the locked in album. kind of a peter frampton thing

  • @smokeymc22

Aweseome! Thats the song, i was looking for.

    Thank you very much. :-)

  • progressive

  • Wishbone Ash was the FIRST band to have DUAL LEAD GUITARS!! Did you peeps know that?

  • @tah2dkajun They were one of the earliest allright, but I doubt if they were the first...(e.g. the allman brothers with duane allman&dicky betts,)

  • @istimewa1x Wishbone Ash formed in October 1969, Allman Brothers in March of the same year. The Allman's rise came in 71 in the US with the Fillmore title, Ash in 1970 in Europe with their eponymous title. I'd hazard a guess that neither particularly influenced the other in their twin lead approach in the early days, but who knows ...

  • @mcleaki Yeah, who knows but,...thanks for the info! You have to agree that both Wishbone Ash AND The Allman Brothers were two fantastic forces

  • @mcleaki I agree totally. I am a fan of both bands. The Allmans were more from the southern rock style, while Wishbone Ash were totally British. I never really associated the two. I still remain a huge Duane Allman fan. Marshall Tucker also had double leads, and I recall Lou Reed's epic album "Rock and Roll Animal" with Steve Hunter, and Dick Wagner on double lead on "Sweet Jane" being one of the greatest duel guitar intros in rock history.

  • perfect performance of an amazing song from a flawless album

  • they make it look so easy.. but to play such simple music in a so fanastic way.. now that's a task.

  • OMG, how i love it !!! I can listen it again and again. Where are now at least similar awesome, beautifull sounds of twin guitars. I am happy it was my time of music.

  • da wurde ich entju...... das stück ist einfach genial...und so traurig...schön

  • I just heard this song few hours ago in my mom's car on her radio. It's bloody fantastic! To think that I just discovered it. Good music was really diverse in the '70s

  • What a luck we have to know Wishbone Ash. I saw live in france a concert in nogent sur marne , 78..or maybe 1979. Andy Powel and hes Flying V not more then 15 meters away from me....that was a great moment, really , only YES was better :-)

May the WISHBONE ASH LIVE LONG !!! Thanks you guys for ARGUS , one of THE GREATEST ALBUM EVER !

  • People nowadays are a disgrace for music! These bands are the grandfathers of music and noone knows them. Instead of expanding their horizons to music, nowadays juvenile is affected by bubblegum pop like Katy Perry Justin Bieber and all this plastic songs with 15 day average life. I really feel sick about this! I just had enough of people that have no curiosity about music! And all these songs they listen to will be forgotten in a few years. This music will remain forever. Because its pure

  • Argus was one of the great albums of the 70's. Saw them live many times always great, twin lead at its best

  • saw this tour in nyc...they were f'ing gr8!

  • If there is a better sounding guitar, let me know. I have got to get this on a disc.

  • Still great! brings me back in the seventies.

  • I see a guitar as a shape of a slim woman and the voices of a woman - it can cry, it can yell, it can call and it can LOVE from deep of her heart.... I heard enough guitarists to say this.

  • kimonos and flying v guitars?genius?yes.where and why the fuck was this band not recognized more than cher?id still bang cher but this is what dreams are made of.

  • Real guitars have wings :-)))

  • Argus is one of the few albums with nowt but brilliant tracks - not one less than awesome

  • @66marlinmike Yep, gotta agree with that. With one caveat. The original vinyl, not the reissued CD. The analog vinyl is definitely better audio, plus the CD was crapped up with the "bonus" track, which didn't belong or fit in at all.

  • Just brill !!!!

  • I had to be a warrior a slave I could not be.

  • 4:45 just epic

  • @Salukemai yep, chills !

  • I wish I could play this good

  • That was British Rock at it's best !

  • Man.. this is great. Argus is one of my favourite albums. Steve Harris of Iron Maiden is a big fan too. There are similarities between the bands. I believe Martin Birch produced both bands aswell.

  • I WAS 1 YEAR OLD ON THAT YEAR .......HMMMP WHOA..

  • yes, this is 70's rock done right.

  • @1iRa You are an idiot.

  • Wishbone Ash is a Band I'll still be listening to when I am shitting my depends at a retiement home. They are the Best

  • sophmore year of high school. Timeless music when you didnt have to play what record companies thought was appropriate. Just so happens all that music was successful. Problem was record execs didnt want to pay big contracts to bands. Disco ruined any chance of quality music continuing to grow. Well thats the instant gratification world we live in. True art will always be underground. I kind of like it like that.

  • My lord, this is SO long ago... i saw them in concert when they went out to New Zealand - must be about 40 YEARS AGO! Their music rocked but they were trailer-trash and wrecked their hotel rooms... i worked for the Hotel at that time!

  • goddamn, this is 'king awesome.. kudos+ to you saintsluggo :-)

  • I haven't listened to these guys in decades. You Tube is the best thing since sliced bread... or sliced money... or slice weed... or sliced ... well you know.

  • WBA was and is one of the top band to be around, no one shall deny that if you are a true rock fan. Thank you dude!!!!!!!!

  • ..Tanxx..Long time no hear..

  • tak tohle je už dneska klasika...kurva kolik nás na tom vyrostlo....super a díky

  • And tomorrow, I'm going to see them live. That's awesome. And nothing else, you pimps.

  • Still one of my favorite albums....Argus!

  • I Lived the scene,,,and Played it ,,it was about making music that could physically take You somewhere unreachable,,,Yeah Some thought it was drugs and for some it was,,but it was more about trying to give wings to Your Music and Your Soul,,, to have Your Music acomplish a physical task through a passive means,,, As You can see anything that hard to explain was even harder to accomplish,,and I really tried until I looked out one day and realized I was indeed one of the people I avoided...

  • Loved the 70's. the days of the really good rock music

  • A lot of great stuff before digital killed the soul of recording, or at least turned music into sterile bits.

  • Live Dates IS awesome. I bought it as a school kid and learned all the songs as best I could back then. :-) A mate of mine, Bob Spencer, later to become guitarist in Aussie band the Angels, put me on to them. We were the 'gun' guitarists in our area at that time. :-)

  • I would suggest to everyone watching this,if you don't have the cd "Live Dates" to buy it. Especially if you like lots and lots of guitars in your music.

One of the best albums ever made. Listen to the grooves wear old !

  • I am so glad I was a teen in the Seventies - so much great music!

  • Thewacky46 there is still tons of good bands rock didn't die in 1974 still tons of good rock bands rush is still making new stuff scorpions wishbone ash genesis is back and u think pink Floyd sucks get ure hearing checked they have the third greatest selling rock album of all time dark side of the moon that shows for itself

  • ARGUS kICKS ARSE IN OZ

  • Shad0wBalrog I couldn't be more wrong? I'll be as wrong as I want to be. So your big

into Dink Void. I suppose you never heard of Soft Machine or Gong, two other bands that emerged from the Canterbury scene along with Barrett and Waters. Musically they were far more superior and Roger Waters would be the first to agree with me.

  • my advice...see w.ash at every opportunity...theyve still got it...(oct2009)

  • This band are playing my home town in March. I'd forgotten how good they are, I think I might go see them.

  • @mcskillby yes you must

  • Hey bearfromalex,

You say Guns n' Roses, I call 'em Cums n' Blow-Jobs

You say Metallica, I call 'em Mentalica Retarded.

You say Pink Floyd, I call 'em Dink Void.

I agree Rap is Crap. But so is the other stuff. Rock has been dead since 1974.

  • @TheWacky46 how can you say those bands are crap? thats ridiculous lmao

  • @TheWacky46 My favorite Led zeppelin's album "In through the out door" was made in 1979!

It's my favorite because it was a tough period for Plant, he had lost his son, and also for Page cause he was fallin' deeper and deeper in drug addiction. But all that sadness and emotions is right there on the album! I'm gonna crawl. man what a song. or In the evening..

You can't say rock has been dead since 1974.

    I can't agree with that.

  • @TheWacky46 And lol. Pink floyd. Man they are one of the best bands. I'm not talking 'bout "another brick in the wall". But listen to the period with Roger Waters. Songs like Perfect sense. Man you can't be more wrong.

  • also an 94 greek fan

  • u say jonas brothers, i say guns n' roses

u say miley cyrus, i say metallica

u say katie perry, i say The Rolling Stones,

    u say high school musicalisayAC/DC

u say pink, i say pink floyd,

u say taylor swift, i say led zeppelin

u say rap, i say CRAP

studies show that 94% of kids prefere rap to any other music. if you're one of the awesome 6% that still loves to headbang copy and paste this to three pure rock videos.

KEEP THE SPIRIT OF ROCK ALIVE

    Also, I SALUTE YOU!

  • Saw the Ash in Portsmouth Guildhall in 1974 after the Live Dates disaster album . However 37 years later , Warrior is the most played track on my I Pod .

There is only ONE Wishbone Ash and thats the original 1969 to 1974

  • A child of 92. A big fan of Wishbone Ash

  • My brother and i played the first two albums until they were worn out--this is music that gets into your soul

  • brilliant, very powerful track and i was singing it last night at work.

  • Mindblowing. Would have loved to see them back then.

  • i was born in a wrong generation!! why?...

  • @DrawMan321

To carry the message to them.

  • Great Guitar Technique! Free !

Better Music than what goes now!

  • I saw all the major acts of the late 60s early 70s but missed Wishbone Ash. I listened to the albums over and over.

Watching this makes me think I should have seen these guys.

  • Why is he wearing a kimono o.o hahaha first time I listen to them, and I love them! :D

  • @FireAssasin

    Because he can...

  • I saw Wishbone Ash on their first American tour, before they were really know. I paid $5.00 for a front row seat. They were awesome!!!!!!!! I have seen hundreds of performers and they are one of the best.

  • woooah... as i listened to that song i shivered for 20s, that music is truly palyed with heart...

    love it :D

  • will done

  • What is with the Kimonos? Who are these guys, Rush?

  • hah thats awesome, not only are they guitar masters but hell why not, give em a voice too!, damn how did i miss out.

  • Wishbone Ash is the best twin guitar band in the world.

Very hard to find thier CDs & DVDs in Hong Kong!

  • Saw Wishbone Ash in Torquay in 1970. They were support for the Keef Hartley Band.

Phoenix was the outstanding moment of the night. Saw them at every opportunity after that. Tightest band I've ever heard. Superb.

  • ha! See you in Gdansk!

  • Wonderful!

  • Fair play... It was pretentious shite forty years ago and it hasn't got any better.!

  • saw them live in dresden yesterday - awesome

  • One of my fav bands. Love this song.

  • Great melodies

  • PROPER MUSIC.

  • Music doesn't get any better than this

  • saw them around 1971 at the De Montford Hall, in Leicester, England where they qriginated from, never ever forgot it, saw them years later without Martin and Ted Turner and Steve Upton, still good though.

  • @caslox It was Glen and Martin Turner, they originated in Torquay

  • @kjclarke56 Your wrong about the name it is Ted Turner unless he has changed his name to Glen, all the sleeve notes on my albums say its Ted.You are right about Torquay though, dont know why I thought they were from Leicester, my mistake.

  • @kjclarke56 Glen Turner who is Martins brother never played in Wishbone I may be wrong please correct me if I'm wrong.

  • @caslox You`re not wrong, Glen left before they changed their name to WA

  • @kjclarke56 i didnt realise glen and martin had formed a band before WA, dont think I ever heared any of their stuff if you can point me in the right direction I would be very grateful, thanks.

  • Heard them live in Bombay,India in the early 80s. They were great!

  • This was the year I first saw them. My favorite line up and man did they rock!!

  • I was lucky enough to see them in the early 70's, when they played, of all places, in Baton Rouge, LA. It was a fantastic concert.

  • lol Clara, that;s quite sad.

Good to see you have impeccable taste in music anyway.

Hope you enjoyed England anyway. Better luck next time.

Definately one of the best bands to come out of my home country, awesome.

  • In my thesaurus, "The Seventies" is a synonym for "Awesome".

  • @Hotstarthefaggot : In mine it adds the 60s through today [except for rap]

  • I saw them twice. Once with the Who, it was great. Once with Stevemiller and they blew him off the stage.

  • hard to believe this is live!

  • i saw these guys last night here in england and to be honest they rival one hell of alot of other live acts ive seen :)

  • i went to england 2 years ago mainly to see them at rockinbeer festival. first thing i did in british lands was buying my tickets. ¬¬ i got pneumonia and couldnt go. i was 16 by then, i didnt want to tell my epic fail to anyone so most ppl still think I saw 'em anyway xP

  • stotina iron maiden?! haha wishbone piss allover them

  • Holy fucking crap, this is awesome! Don't you just love it when you discover a piece of music 35 years old that beats the crap out of pretty much everything out there today...

  • @Outmind01

either you dont know shit about music, or youre another thumb-up-grabber with silly comments, still good music out there

  • @1iRa - there might very well be some really good music out there. The difference is that it's probably stuck inside some enthusiastic kid's garage never to be seen by most of us. WA were a more or less MAINSTREAM band, back in their day and mainstream today is utter garbage

  • @Outmind01

    agreed

  • @Outmind01 explore the seventy's music and enjoy a life time of good music!!

  • @Outmind01 music devolved into what we have today: boom, boom, boom. The best music I have experienced is by little known acts/persons who pursue the music, not fame. Those two do not intersect today much.

  • @Outmind01 Hell Yes my man I saw this great band in Portsmouth UK in 1974. This track has the most plays on my I Pod 37 yearts later

  • @garrington120 I saw them in '74 at crap venue Lane County Fair Grounds. Did Camel open for them on the UK leg?

  • Classic Progr around the sound!

  • Around 4 years ago saw a Friday Night Acoustic show and a Saturday Night Electric show at the Moonshine Theater in Scranton, Pa. I was actually working also as they had a meet and greet and silent auction it was cool, people flew in from all over it was my job to keep them happy [ and drunk ] Not the band, the guests lol

  • such a great bend... in my opinion,as great as iron maiden, pink floyd, led zeppelin and the doors. I cannot understand why are they not recognised

  • Saw Martin Turner with his formation in 2009 in Germany. Jeez, this guy still rox!

  • I have been playing this band for a long time. My grandma bought me WB Argus and Atomic Rooster in 1972 or 73. Wishbone Ash and The Climex Blues band played in Fargo North Dakota fall 1973 they were both fresh from over the big pond. They both put on a great night. I have wanted a flying V guitar ever since that night!

  • Classic song, classic musicianship. Enough said.

  • Just a note to say that there are 2 editions of Wishbone at the moment: Martin Turner's (bass) and Andy Powell's (Flying V). Of the foursome shown here playing in 1973, Ted Turner played with Martin in July at the High Voltage Festival in London and has his own outfit too. Steve Upton has retired I believe. Always worth checking any of them out!

  • These men play for The Ages . . .

  • Wishbone Ash lays @ D'bedrock of Rock Musik in Puerto Rico thanks 2 Radio Zar,Ponce...'70S! The King came & set Me free from the bondage of a conquered mind 2B a Warrior of His ZOE...Thank U Guys for such an Inpired Journey!

    Riccardo/Brasilia/BRASIL

    Also...great concert @ Ribs Fest- Naperville.IL.USA'07-08?

  • Wishbone Ash lays @ D'bedrock of Rock Musik in Puerto Rico thanks 2 Radio Zar,Ponce...'70S! The King came & set Me free from the bondage of a conquered mind 2B a Warrior of His ZOE...Thank U Guys for such an Inpired Journey!

    Riccardo/Brasilia/BRASIL

  • Vastly underrated band in N. America. Almost forgotten now. Too bad. They arrived late to the market, as rock was dying and disco was coming in.

  • saw them a few days ago at the weyfest in farnham u.k still very good live band!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I listen this song ,maybe 15 years old.first time,I was surprise because I heard not yet like this song! Now I'm 48 years .So I find this song this You Tube.

    I remember my young times.

  • i know my music but i miss these guys some where along the way

  • For me this is the ultimate Wishbone Ash line up and I was lucky enough to see them several times in the UK in the early 70's, after this I feel they lost the edge to the orchestral and vocal harmonies, just bought the Argus CD a couple of weeks ago --- and another of Uriah Heep, both have many great songs.

  • think i saw these guys at Merriweather Post Pavilion ...74ish??? been ages

  • Wish these guys were heavier......still great guitar work as always
