Thanks for posting this one! Reminds of our family trips to Long Beach.... We'd leave early in the morning, and not go home till late.... Mom would make hotdogs on her little grill, and we'd eat watermelon.... Sand all over the stationwagon, fall asleep in the back and roll around like tamales in the back... You put a big smile on my face! Thanks!
@mustafahajj Mustafahajj, yup... your long trips sure did beat mine.... and your Dad sounds like mine! We'd drive from L.A. to Port Lavaca TX straight through.. How he did the driving all by himself and get us there in a day and a half, I'll never know! We're lucky! And Thank you 60otaku3san, again for this wonderful post!
great music.. take me back to the the good old days when music was. our younger generation could learn deal about this beautiful music .thanks for keeping old school alive for our children to study what it takes to be a true artist of there craft. thank you my brother.
i dont know to say. when i here this type of music. i try to picture all of our parents jamming to this. my parents your parents and whoever is readin this parents. by the way i am twenty six
I remeber back in 1998 when ABC premiered Motown 40 and i was 11 years old at the time and Diana Ross was the host and by the end of the program this song came on, and it wasn't until earlier this year that I found out who was the artist and the song and I haven't stopped listening since then. I always was soulfully inclined with great music and i wasn't immune to Motown,I'm just thankful that this song came to be.
Reminds me of Phillies baseball in the 80s because in between innings they would play this song at least once a game heading to a commercial...Took me years to realize the name of the song & artist...Doesn't get much better than "What Does It Take"
To everbody_san. The whole world needs more songs like this; after all, it's been over 40 years since this song came out, but there are no new songs to compare.
THIS was back in the days when girls and guys did something called "hand dancing"...today's dances look like mortal combat...and you need to be a gymnast to do them! If you were to ask today's kids about "slow dragging", they would look at you as if you came from another planet!!
I tried, I tried in ever way I could...to make you see how much I love you! Untouchable music from back in the day.. no music like this music ever..A time of some of the best music that ever was and ever will be! I miss those days!
great music, memories, friends and awesome times!
Thank you 60otaku3 for posting a great classic and memory!
@2009Denisem Oh, this is quality...reaching for the hankies to dry my eyes...a song full of emotion...what we missed over here in the UK does not bear thinking about.
@useverlastin Hmm I thought you understoood...-the jam- Those were indeed the days well the nights in the basement lol..how about the block parties...starting early in the am and ending late late late playing the 45's until grooves wore out.. open the johnny pump (fire hydrant) to cool off...and hang lights from the trees and sides of the house... OMG what happened to those yesterdays! Peace my friend.. and cherish those fine memories...never 2 B 4gotten...
Oh my god, this was the song back in the day when I was in love for the very first time...I can still see his face, damn, I didn't know I missed him as much as I do until I heard this again.
my song for today

@tiranchula Talk about listening to this song on long trips.
I heard this record more than 1000x via a trip from Chicago to Long Beach.
My pops refuse to fly anywhere, so, 3000 miles we traveled.
I believe I can sing this song in reverse if i tried!
