  • obviously it requires a constitutional ban since constitutionally they have this right via the first amendment.

im still waiting for a constitutional ban on al gore.

  • Comment removed

  • only problem is that the companies will buy out whoever it is that has the job of enforcing this. someone has to keep an eye out on the politicians to make sure they aren't getting bribes from corporations. buy those people and you're right back where you started. don't get me wrong, i love the idea. i just don't see it taking long for corporations to buy out a few more people.

  • I love you cenk I would die for you.

  • i wish i could help but im a minor

  • I wish you succeed...

  • I love the idea but kind of dislike the army metaphor

  • @jj16947 Same here. I went and signed the petition on their site, though.

  • "I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. . . . corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed."

    -President Abraham Lincoln, 1864

  • Its about time. Dont stop at this one convention either. Lets clean out the government. They liked their war on drugs? Now its our war on corruption.

  • Much love and support from the UK.

  • Cenk: the thinking mans Ron Paul...

He definitely should run for president. I am sure the TYT fans would be happy to donate to his campaign...

  • this is awesome!

  • Great to see you taking things to the next level Cenk! Hope to see you run for public office someday. This comign from a libertarian too!

  • cool. what if you cant occupy a statehouse. where do you start

  • Cenk I agree with your message, it sounds similar to Ron Paul's, ltd gov. Ron got me interested in politics but I am open to all ideas from where ever they come from.Sounds like, the people that are AWAKE are starting to realize that we need to come together to change this corrupted system before it's to late. You and your following may not agree with all PR positions, but the principal ideas are the same, your choice 4 more yrs of Obama or some rep dirtbag NG/MR. I think sooner or later u agree

  • You must make the Federal Government Small and Limit severely limits it's power!!!

Read "Economics In One Lesson" by Henry Hazlatt

  • As long as the Federal Government has the power to regulate the economy and to hand out favors, you are always going to have people and big corporations buying influence! The source of the problem is the government! The first step is Elect Ron Paul as President... and begin the process of phasing out the FED!

The Amendment is good, but the corps. as people thing isn't gonna do much unless you get rid of most of the federal bureaucracies that right regulations by people from those industries!

  • i do not feel like i am an "expert" in any of the fields mentioned on the website volunteer petition form. is there not an option for folks to "volunteer" if they are not an expert in any particular field?

  • i would actually blindly follow whatever cenk told me to do or who to vote for, just because hes right almost all the time, whens hes not he apologises and he has forseen so many political failures. i mean when in doubt cenk it.

  • @buffaloface1 gotta always fight your inner fanaticism and never assume fully about cenk or anyone

  • I am up for it..God, Family, Country

  • @ShutterbugW Fuck that. "God" is part of the problem. America didn't become great by following the examples of religion, it became great by allowing freedom FROM religion. Sorry, but the constitution is pretty clear about keeping religion and country seperate. The founding fathers learned their lesson from the faith mongering tyrants who used God and crown as an excuse for every evil. Religion has quite a nasty track record when it comes to freedom and human rights.

  • We need a constitutional convention definitely. Let's have a constitution that fits the 21st century.

  • CENK FOR PRESIDENT

  • you mean changing campaign finance law? yea I think that's the way you do it.

  • A constitutional amendment that goes above the supreme court? seriously?

And you are going to achieve that by occupying the states? really?

    Dream on...

  • @Ysacoelfua Just freaking wait.... by next year, Occupy will be far more powerful than anyone could imagine! :)

  • am a web developer - how can I help- am in new york city

  • You want 2/3, get a republican to agree with you, some dumbf*cks will not support this only because Cenk is a liberal

  • Wolf-PAC 4life.

  • You're declaring "independence" yet you keep on using your credit card, using the services provided by coorporations, etc.

This is pointless and silly. Not to mention the name of the organization is a joke!

  • @Ysacoelfua He never said we're trying to ban corporations you moron. The goal of this is to state that corporations aren't people and thus cannot influence politicians through money. In fact, he is extremely for corporations, just not the fact that they can essentially control government. If you actually decided to listen to him and watch the entire video, you would understand completely. Also, pointless? That's your word choice? The entire video you "watched" was about the point of Wolf-PAC.

  • @dapancakeprodegy What happened in America was that Coorporations became more valuable than people. And rightly so! Corporations produce VALUE through products and/or services that benefit society, while many americans just don't produce any value. See the logic here? Think about it!

This is not about "the creator endowing human beings with inalienable rights". That's ridiculous! This is about value and contribution to society.

  • @Ysacoelfua Contribution to society? Sure they help society, but what's the point if people, at some point, can't afford it, due to the economic situation. And again, you clearly did not read anything I said nor understand the video. Again I don't DISAGREE with Corporations, nor does wolf-pac. I even stated in my reply that wolf-pac is pro-corporation but not pro-corporate influence. Your reply was literally 100% unrelated to what I said, & I can actually say here that you responded incorrectly.

  • This is a REPUBLIC. The Constitution is fine the way it is. Because our government hasn't been following the Constitution is OUR fault, we didn't hold them accountable. If people would defend the Constitution 100% you would not need to protest or have a Constitutional Convention. This occupy shit can go too far! You may cause many people to die doing just what you're doing. I sure as hell don't feel happy with Cenk leading this.

  • @Everclearish Witch part of the constitution says that corporations arent allowed to make contributions to memebers of congress and the senate? Could you tell me because I am not that familiar with the constitution to be honest. =)

  • @Auraruth8 I am not a Constitutional whiz kid. I have been doing some reading and actually I don't believe that Wolf Pac's Constitutional Convention will be successful. It would take two thirds of both houses (Reps&Senate) and three fourths of all the States. Right now would be almost impossible. Since reading much more I agree that a ban or an amendment "addition only" would be good.

  • @Everclearish So bearing in mind Cenk is a lawer, you dont think he has thought this through? I read somewhere that there has been many changes due to pressure from the buplic or due to the threat of a constituonal convention. And they are popular and have a good reputation. I have faith.

  • @Auraruth8 If Cenk is a Lawyer why does he keep saying we are a Democracy? Democracy never lasts and a Republic is what we must remain.

  • @Everclearish The US is a republic and a democracy. have faith my friend, comparing today with 500 years ago we have come far and we can get even further. We need faith and people like the tyt army.

  • @Auraruth8 Go to youtube and use the search bar and search for ( The Political Spectrum Easily Explained - Basic Forms of Government ) In the results watch the video with the same name

  • @Everclearish Ok so how should america be in your eyes: watch freidman on his ideal society.

I think everyone agrees with what he says but the way to get there is obviously to get engaded yourself. There are many wrongs with america today, TYT is trying to make some of it right. And I am still sure that cenk knows his stuff. But arguing about what something should be called really gets us nowhere ok so It is a republic ok, the fight must still continue.

  • "Regain our democracy"?! Somebody tell this guy we dont have a "democracy" but a representative republic. This whole "Were a democracy" thing is a misunderstanding, but many believe it.

  • OCCUPY the World

  • normally i can't stand tyt but they have redeemed themselves

  • hell yeahh!!

  • 5 days and already $27,000 raised. Amazing!

Operation Occupy America, let's do this!

  • @avarioussire up to $28,615 as of now!

  • DAMN ME AND MY LACK OF 18NESS!!!!

  • cenk you're a fucking boss

  • guys need a photographer in north eastern PA area?

  • Cool Video.

  • Give'em Hell Cenk....You Rock..!

  • LOL, if you go on the wolfPAC site, the video's thumbnail looks fucked xD

  • I can raise billions and create thousands of jobs.I will share my ideas with Mr. Cenk Uygur only, that way he'll know that it is MY idea.I am not delusional.I am waiting.

Have a good day. Jim K.

  • This is gonna make Rush Limbaugh have an epileptic attack, a heart attack, and a brain- infarction, all at the same time

    xD

  • Cenk, you should seek office! But first you'll have to teach the public how to pronounce your name! Those of us who love you can pronounce it but everyone else pronounces it in hilarious ways!

  • that 300,000 $ mark seems like to muchh

but i hope we reach it i dont have much but every little counts

  • Legal? Cenk...don't you have a J.D. from Columbia? Haha jk,.

  • I'm up for it.

But the problem isn't that corporations have free speech like a person, it is that people in general can donate to politicians.

It should be that nobody, individual or corporation, can donate money to politicians. Otherwise they will just go around it and have individual people donate millions.

  • @endplanets Both are problems.

  • well, shittyfagg is on board, sign me up!

  • is Cenk a wrestling fan or what? here comes Sting in the red face paint to beat up the NWO with his bat! (just saying)

  • @Jcuel2 the below comment is for you. forgot the tag.

  • you, sir, sound like an educated idiot. you speak with the words of others and honestly the only point you have is, "we shouldn't cause no." i understand you are aprehensive. change does that. but there are no rewards without risk, and a great many of us are willing to bet on america and it's people. so what's your excuse?

  • My God. Watching this TYT video makes my skin crawl, not seeing the Twin T owers in the background, especially with the way the economy is going right now.

  • It used to be called Bribery ....

    Now It's called Campaign Contributions.....

  • @Bauks it's always been both, always.

  • Where can I sign up?

I am willing to donate whatever amount,to help fight.

This is why I fucking love The Young Turks.

  • If we can do this in statehouses, the Senate and House can't stop it.

  • If corporations are people, I would have strongly suggested abortion.

  • Baby Boomers: get off the couch. We are the largest growing population. We have the life experience, wisdom and time. We've lived through much and know when to pick our battles and this is our turn to make a difference for the next generations!

  • You Need New Art

    And New Artists

Time to start the New Millennia

  • @vh9network aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhh du du du dadada

  • This guy is a model for all of you mainstream fucks, this is what patriotism is! gettin off your high fuckin horse and makin it happen.

  • hmm wolfpac stable eh? seen that somewhere before

  • This guy is going to end up black bagged. "Against all enemies, foreign and domestic." He just declared himself an enemy of the state.

  • MAKE THIS VIDEO VIRAL NOW!....SEND IT OUT FOLKS....SEND IT OUT NOW!

Believe me....The whole world is watching OWS....& I know because I'm living in England!

  • Citizens United Ruling was 2010, your problems are clearly much older than that... therefore if you achieve everything you want - a full constitutional amendment (as unlikely as that is) that overturns the Citizens United Ruling - you achieve nothing, you have simply turned back corporate political power to 2009 (when clearly the same game was going on).

btw corporate contributions to candidates was banned before and is still banned (if you didn't know).

    You have misdiagnosed the problem.

  • @jordan567890 Not true. The amendment will revoke personhood to corporations. It would overturn Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad, Munn v. Illinois, and Dartmouth College v. Woodward to name a few cases. This is the ONLY way we're going to fundamentally get our democracy back.

  • @jockt967 Don't you mean "uphold" Munn v. Illinois? As that case's ruling established a constitutional precedent that private corporations could be regulated if it was in the public's best interest.

  • @jordan567890 I thought that that ban was struck down by the Supreme Court. Am I mistaken? Please let me know.

  • So are there any counter points to the fact that it is our corrupt politicians with special interests that will go into the convention and give even more power to the wrong people when they change the constitution however they see fit?

  • Sounds to me like Cenk wants Ron Paul supporters to lead the charge. We know how enthusiastic about their constitutional rights they are. Who better get this ball rolling?

P.S. RON PAUL NEVER WAS OR WILL BE BOUGHT BY CORPORATIONS. (That means vote for him in 2012 if you really care about this issue!)

  • Is the name for this based on the arrest of Naomi Wolf the other night? She's my kind of patriot. youtube post rnv_PrZxELg

  • yes!

  • Never mind I saw his older comment and understand why.

  • And wouldn't you prefer a collection of WORKERS having more influence than a collection of CEOs and shareholders? But anyway elections should be publicly funded so we all control society together.

  • Wow I hate when people talk about unions vs. Corporations the unions are WORTHLESS AND INSIGNIFICANT right now in the corporate owned society. Unions member ship has astronomically fallen in the last decades and Corporations out spend unions seven to three. They have historically given money to democrats but right now corporations give democrats much much MUCH more. That's why many union leaders and democratic politicians absolutely hate each other. Soros is poor compared to the combined Corpor

  • This is awesome. Thank you for taking charge CENK!

  • Tried over 20 times to go to wolf-pac.com, but receive the message that the page wasn't loading properly. ?

  • I am a Hungarian , but I would like to help you !

  • how about unions buying politicians as is the case with Obowma and his administration? How about ordering george Soros out of America?

if we take away corporate rights lets make unions illegal too. When has the union "right" to collectively withdraw labor services as with strikes or make contributions to politicans who negotiate with them been endowed by our founding fathers???

as for a state Convention Cenk had better study the electoral map and learn to distinhuish between blue and red

  • @genie0390 And what has that got them, there is one group who is profiting in the era of cut backs and lay offs of workers. I will give you one guess who is cleaning up and who is vaporizing. The only ones who should be able to have the kind of protected speech is people. Under that scenario unions will retain influence anyway as they represent many as opposed to the corps who represent very few. Attacking unions is attacking the middle class to give more to the 1%.

  • Cenk count me in! I'm a US citizen but live in Europe. I am a licensed attorney in New York (and Brussels) though I'm specialized in non-US (WTO and Trade Agreement) law. HOW CAN I HELP FROM BELGIUM/FRANCE? I'd be more than happy to try to organize Americans in Europe. Petitions, votes, fundraising, demonstrations. I'll check Wolf-pac now.

  • @BlackLabelSlushie As a lawyer who works with multinationals, I want people to also address a GIGANTIC issue that is never mentioned bu is equally critical in taking back our democracies: The back-breaking, impenetrable COMPLEXITY of income and corporate tax laws, as well as laws allowing corporate structures that are so complex (with parent companies, subsidiaries, related parties, shell companies etc.) that no one can understand them. (See part 2)

  • @BlackLabelSlushie (Part 2). I am NOT talking about deregulation. I am talking about CLEAR regulation. Why? After 11 years working with big and small corporations it is clear that massively complex tax and corporate rules are one of THE biggest tools used by the legislators to avoid oversight and slip in the sleaziest breaks and favors to large corporations. At the other end, complexity ensures that ONLY the wealthy can hire the lawyers to work every loophole while the small fry pay to the hilt.

  • BAD IDEA

    DO NOT DO THIS

    YOU'RE GOING THE WRONG WAY

  • @Richardgwm from the guy who types in capitals.

  • @Richardgwm Ok so tell me why creating an amendment that keeps big business and special interest out of our government is bad. I'm serious I want to know because I can only see it as a good thing and would like to know your reasons. You never know you might sway me. There might be something I'm missing in this.

  • @xzen667 If at this stage you still need someone to explain to you why having bought politicians is bad then there is not help for you

  • @bwrecks No I understand that bought politicians are bad I right now I am all for creating this new amendment. However I would like to know why this person is against it. Maybe I missed something? I'd just like him to explain why he thinks creating this amendment is the "Wrong way".

  • @xzen667 I support the amendment. In fact we need a natural persons amendment AND a paper ballot amendment.

The problem is the Constitutional Convention. This is a TERRIBLE idea. Constitutional Conventions have unlimited power to rewrite the Constitution. They are not limited to amendments.

Even worse, any convention will undoubtedly be controlled by big money. We could very easily end up with a Constitution that eliminates Congress and the courts and appoints a king.

    NO CONVENTION

  • @Richardgwm I've been looking around and pretty much came to the same conclusion. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

  • Bad idea. BAD idea. Bad, bad, bad idea.

Amending the Constitution is a great idea, but holding a Constitutional Convention is a TERRIBLE idea. A Constitutional Convention has complete and total power to rewrite the Constitution. They are not limited to amendments. They can decide to change any and all of the Constitution. They would have power to eliminate Congress and the courts and appoint a king if they wanted. And you know big money will control this whole process.

    BAD IDEA

  • @Richardgwm, I have been trying to explain that to no end here in comments. If you'd liketo, please check out my comments and add your own perspective. You are right. It is NOT a good idea at all. It's a horrible idea. It's a dangerous idea. It's very dangerous, especially in today's political landscape.

  • Fantastic. Then, we need JUSTICE. I'm sick of them getting slapped on the wrists, giving back the equivalent of a nickel tip, while all the criminals hiding behind the corporation get off scott free. There isn't much time to pull this off, but it has to be done and FAST.

  • Im all in

  • Any chance of a UK division?

  • All in, Ratigan,Unger!!!, kidding me? In the words of that idiot Palin,,,, U BETCHA!!!

  • If Cenk raises his fist, I will raise mine!

Thumbs up if you will raise yours...

  • let me replay this ,, I think I'm going to cry,,

  • This is great everyone with some expertise sign up youre not only saving the US but the world if u change the world will follow.

The people always have the power we just let the bought politicians take it from our hands.

They are all corrupt on both sides who cares left or right we wanna go with the true and honest way and if u want something right u gotta do it yourself.

  • Don't like TYT inserting itself into the OWS. Don't co-opt OWS, this is not about Cenk.

  • @TOURSGMD No one "owns" OWS. Its a movement for everyone against corporate greed. Either help out or shut up.

  • @bwrecks I will not. :D

  • Oops, typo correction... "put to test" should read "put to rest".

  • TYT needs to pick a slow news day sometime in the next week and distribute a press release about this. If it gets picked up by at least some of the mainstream media it will put to test a lot of the "they don't know what they are protesting about" nonsense.

  • Comment removed

  • Awhh the site is broken D:

  • The problem is not so much corporations, it is politicians i.e. they do indeed tend to be immoral if the price is right.. and so, I think the answer is to make politicians as irrelevant as possible.

The problem is therefore systemic.. and while outlawing corporate person-hood might help, this step has gotta be seen as only a transition stage to a complete overhaul of the entire electoral system.

  • A Constitutional Amendment is hard to get. The Supreme Court can be circumvented by a simple Bill in Congress. Although passing a progressive bill in Congress right now is also very hard. Its happened before, like when the Court said that the military could ban religious head coverings for Jews and Muslims. Congress passed a law that said that conservative ones could be worn with the uniform.

  • I'm in England...so I'll just support quietly.

  • Lobbying should be illegal.

  • So the amendment is to outlaw corporate personhood or to outlaw corporations giving money to politicians?

  • @RKAddict101 They are allowed to give unlimited money because they are "people" and have 1st amendment rights. So both.

  • Notice how the OWS movement, has supporters from around the world!! EPIC support from everywhere!!

  • Start wearing a bullet proof helmet Cenk, and godspeed!!

  • WE'RE COMING FOR THEM!!! AND WE AREN'T JOKING!!!

  • Attention, Attention, This real, Not like SARAH_PAC, which was fake & phony!!

  • Too bad I'm from france, GOOO GET THEMMM

  • Not a US citizien, but my heart is with you guys. Go and get them!

  • TYT ARMY!

  • Man, I have been waiting for this, I'm in Jamaica and I'M READY CENK...!!! I knew you had it in you CENK...."The more you know the more you owe (to teach the people)"..: Thank you CENK....!!!

  • Maybe I've misunderstood the plan but this sounds like it'll be a 50 year campaign

2/3 of the states legislatures to call for something .... bleh

  • This is so awesome! It almost look slike Cenk is changing the world single handedly!

  • @OldSchoolSkill I understood that ;) But same goes for... lets say... Hyaenas. But they don't get any press :D My comment was not really supposed to start a discussion but I like it that you took time to explain. All I was getting at is that Wolf-XYZ is really overused in my opinion. Why even make animal refrences in a political debate at all? Why not just call it: "People that are pissed off because of corruption -Group!" ... Ok yeah... thats not really "catchy" is it? Anyway... :D

  • I LOVE this idea but it occurs to me that once you open the door is it not possible for the very folks we are fighting against could use a constitutional convention to rewrite the whole thing in their favor? Couldn't they potentially get rid of abortion rights like they've been trying to for years?

Is it possible to hold a constitutional convention that would consider ONLY this idea?

If anyone knows the answer to these questions please let me know.

  • @TheStevenmatherly No, it's not possible to limit the scope of a Con Con. That's what happened in the first con con. They has a specified scope and limit and they walked away with a brand new government. The very same thing can happen again.

  • Need Australian version of TYT :-)

  • Don't missunderstand me - Im all for this... but why is it ALWAYS WOLVES? Even when the Nazis where losing in 45' they "founded" the (Wer-)Wolf-pac's ... Anyway! Its always the "cool" carnivors who get all the attention! Its never something like: The Parrot-Pac, the Slug-pac & co :D So discriminating towards other animals! pfff! (Don't take this toooo seriously please ;) )

  • 1 man on a mission, the people leading the fight, man I hope this goes a long way, I hope Steven Spielberg makes a documentary of this with Cenk as the lead

  • Concerning all American citizens,

This is hopefully going to create all sorts of buzz nationally and possibly even internationally.

Sign up. Show your support. It's about time.

  • I went to wolf-pac and read your constitutional amendment.

it sounds like it was written by a child.

i suggest you hire a decent constitutional attorney before you try to go any further.

  • @charbroiledmonk1033 Good writing is writing that makes the point clear and concise without ambiguity. What would be the point of re-writing it to make it sound more academic if it does not change the meaning or reduce ambiguity in any way? You would actually be making the writing worse.

  • Not my problem, but... I would be careful if I were you, with this aggressive talk. TYT-army is one thing, because it's just a word, but this time you sound like you're threatening someone.

Yes, I get it, you're a "tough guy". But I am unsure about the tone.

  • @QueenTox

No, this is the very right tone to have.

  • That's good news!, BAIL OUT MAIN STREET, we bailed out corp. America, now it time for them to bail us out.

  • Damn skippy!

  • i am going to toss this out right now. the corporate top 1% will be able to hack into the account and get all of the names. these people can easily be targeted by the government and they will face opposition that they have never seen the likes of before. be very careful about whom you give your name too. i think this is a good idea, but it should be ran in an anonymous fashion. supply false names, false addresses but real expertise. use a public computer and don't allow yourself to be traced.

  • @greycloud24

"People should not be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people."

    - V for Vendetta

  • :( I am a US citizen in Canada... can I sign up?

  • FUCK YEAH!

  • Awesome. Definatley has my support.

Too bad there isn't mch we can do from the UK to help out.

  • Classic tag should be used more in videos relating to OWS.
