No, this is American, in the comic, thompson and tomson could also be Johnson and jonson and dupond and dupont. In the comic, American, it is Thompson and snowy, and tintin has an American accent

Both are correct. In the original Belgium version the detectives were Dupond & Dupont while in the English translation they were renamed Thomson & Thompson. Likewise, Milou was renamed Snowy in English.

This is my first experience with Tin Tin and it is far more intriguing than I expected. It reminds me a little of Rupert except a bit more grounded. Hopefully the movie will be even better than what I've seen of this cartoon.

@Persona3Yukari the comic is the original. the movie is based on three tintin stories: The Crab with the Golden Claws, The Secret of the Unicorn, and Red Rackham's Treasure. check them out, it's fun to see ow they made one story out of the three :)

kinda different to what happened in the comic...the first thing is when tintin opened the captains door it wasnt tintin alone he had with him a locksmith....the second when sir francis haddock and red rackham fought before a block hit sir francis was hit in the head it wasnt red rackham he fought but another pirate named diego the dreadful and of course while telling the story captain haddock was drinking

In french the "Unicorn" story takes place in 1698 and it's a ship of Louis 14; why is it in 1676 with a ship of Charles 1st in english?

Just for export... to charm the british pride. But the book of Haddock is in french, seamen wear french caps, and the flag of the unicorn is the old french flag! Unfortunately this will be the case too in the movie of spielberg... just a shame!

I strongly oppose a new movie related to Herge's character. It is double suicide because:

content of the comics must be merged and edited for "concerned" audiences

and makes the comic to be seen as an all-american thing focused for naive people rather than a complex comic catering for audiences seeking such content.
