I loved the Alice in Wonderland movie, but I'm not sure about the huntsman thing. I'm sorry, but Kristen Stewart can't act. It looks interesting, though, so I might go see it, but I want to see Mirror Mirror. It looks funny, and Julia Roberts is a great actress.

also, scripts can take forever to be approved and supported by a company. Then they have to attach a director and it's a long process. Both of them were probably in the works without any knowledge of the other

Totally different movies, but I think that although "Mirror, Mirror" is obviously more family oriented and goofy comedy, it has a fresher and more imaginative look to it. I like my Snow White with a lighter, fairytale touch. I've seen so many Lord of the Ring type rip offs that I'm much more likley to go see "Mirror, Mirror". Who cares if she has a swan on her head - it's for fun.
I don't think you can compare them. Snow White and the Huntsman is a dramatic and serious movie with fights and wars, and Mirror Mirror is more like comedy. But Snow White and the Huntsman has the better queen and Mirror Mirror the prettier Snow White. I don't like Kristen Stewart's as Snow White, that doesn't really fit
My vote is for SW & the Huntsman- for Charlize Theron's truly evil queen and its look of gritty reality. I just don't buy Kristen Stewart as a threat to the queen- she doesn't hold a candle to Ms. Theron's beauty.

I'm personally looking forward to seeing both. It looks like, by the trailers, that the movies are going is very different directions as to how the story is told. It's sort of like seeing the kid's version and the adult version of the same story. I can't wait.
I reckon the 2 films are working together but making it look like they're competing...This will force more audiences to view BOTH films so they can decide which one is better...therefor raking in the profits from both ends. If they came out a year or 2 years apart, they wouldn't have that 'rival' buzz that encourages people to see them. After all, Hollywood is 1 community.

'Mirror Mirror' since KS isn't in it. I have seen her other movies, sadly, & she always plays the same type of sad/emo teen (type cased often?). Maybe it's her 'style'. I'm over her, & I'm sick of people trying to defend her 'acting'. Watch her interviews. Her natural demeanor is the same as ALL of the characters I've seen her as (4 in counting). That's not acting; that's being yourself. Real actors make you believing they are someone else. In every movie, I still see KS as herself.

The one thing about Snow White and the Huntsman that rubs me wrong is the casting of Kristen Stewart. I just can't buy into the idea of her as Snow White. She does not have the features that strike me as a beautiful girl that the queen is supposed to be threatened by, especially considering the queen looks like a friggin Swiss model. It seems like poor casting. Regardless, this movie has the most interesting looking story and I certainly have no qualms about Chris Hemsworth playing the huntsman

Basically, Snow White and the Huntsman is going to crush the other. I say this as someone who despises Kristen Stewart's acting. I will grant that I haven't seen her early films and after witnessing first hand the insulting performances of the Twilight series I have no desire to do so. Back on topic, with the excellent and visually appealing trailers and the fresh new premise, not to mention Chris Hemsworth, this movie will attract a wide range of audiences. I only hope Kristen proves me wrong.
@marihuana141 I saw speak when it came out. Amazing work by kristen. And yes she does play Bella exactly like Bella in the books. I love Kristen and she has a bad rep for her acting skills. And cheak out The Cake Eaters. It's another early indie film of kristens and she's awesome in it as well :)
All everybody knows kristen from is the twilight movies. If they had seen her in speak or the cake eaters (her early indie films) they would appriciate her acting skills more. She's amazing, and I truely believe that all she needs it this movie to pull her out of the judgement that she can't act. She takes the characters she plays very seriously, I love her. Never been a big fan of the saccharin sweet Disney Style fairytale's .So it won't be "Mirror Mirror".Everything about it looks very old fashioned and dated. 'Snow White and the Huntsman' on the other hand looks AMAZING! !!!!! I l LOVE the darker look of it. Charlize looks fantastic, and don't even get me started on Chris Hemsworth as "The Huntsman" (OMG!) ....even the soundtrack, based on the trailer sounds brilliant <3
I think i'll see both and make up my mind after.. at first glance at both trailers.. i like the darker version (huntsman) mostly because snow white is really a dark fairy tale.. its pretty dark that your stepmother would you assassined and when that fails poisen you with food..so darker is better.. a little worried bout kristen stewart playing the part, her acting obviously, but also, there is no way she could be more beautiful then charlize theron... but i'll see how i feel after watching both

btw, her real potential is fully shown in 'Speak', where she actually speaks very little, so she just has to 'play' the whole movie. Then I read the 'Twilight' books and understood that she plays Bella perfectly.

YAY more adult fairytale movies!!! Until this vid I had never heard of the second snow white movie to be released in 2012, only the Huntsman one and I'm nervous about that. K-Stew's characters are all the same (She did an amazing job in The Runaways tho) and I hope she changes up her acting style for this movie so it's watchable. It looks absolutely amazing. The other one I'd like to see aswell. I like movies with no big names. Makes it seem like they're more about the story.
Huntsman looks like it has a more impressive plot, while Mirror Mirror is prettier & more comical. I'm not a fan of comedy, but I like comedy more than I like Kristen Stewart. I would be happier if they switched the actresses playing the title character - or if they combined the two projects into something both aesthetically pleasing & action-packed (& starring a better actress). Besides, when they use "hair black as night, skin white as snow" in the trailer, shouldn't the actress reflect that?
Mirror, Mirror has a more fun, colorful look to it while Snow White has more of a darker look to it. I think that Mirror Mirror will sell because of Julia Roberts. I like the darker version more. First of all I love the idea of more fantasy/fairytale movies, so yay I'm excited. Looking at Kristen play Snow White, I can't help but think, "The make up artists are shit." Can't even add lipstick to give her the red as blood lips. In "Mirror Mirror" the makeup is nice. But watching the trailer for "Mirror Mirror" I'm sitting here thinking it's a comedy. Personally, they BOTH RUINED Snow White, not talking about disney, (although done fairly well), but the real fairy tale. You know queen eating the heart, the 2 tricks before the apple & the queen dying in the wedding!!

@kipolem53 There are many versions of the story. In one the queen eats the heart. In the other she feeds it to the king. In another she doesn't ask for the heart but her lungs or liver instead. I have read a few versions; I used the one where the queen herself eats the heart because it is more symbolic to me: the queen's thirst for beauty.
I think the reinventing fairy tales is cool, mostly because I am a big fan of "untold story" stories. But I hope they stay away from cinderella not because I like but because there have been too many Cinderella remakes. Anyone agree?

Totally different movies, but I think that although "Mirror, Mirror" is obviously more family oriented and goofy comedy, it has a fresher and more imaginative look to it. I like my Snow White with a lighter, fairytale touch. I've seen so many Lord of the Ring type rip offs that I'm much more likley to go see "Mirror, Mirror". Who cares if she has a swan on her head - it's for fun.

I don't think you can compare them. Snow White and the Huntsman is a dramatic and serious movie with fights and wars, and Mirror Mirror is more like comedy. But Snow White and the Huntsman has the better queen and Mirror Mirror the prettier Snow White. I don't like Kristen Stewart's as Snow White, that doesn't really fit

I'm personally looking forward to seeing both. It looks like, by the trailers, that the movies are going is very different directions as to how the story is told. It's sort of like seeing the kid's version and the adult version of the same story. I can't wait.

I reckon the 2 films are working together but making it look like they're competing...This will force more audiences to view BOTH films so they can decide which one is better...therefor raking in the profits from both ends. If they came out a year or 2 years apart, they wouldn't have that 'rival' buzz that encourages people to see them. After all, Hollywood is 1 community.

The other one... eh... it seems to want to be to much of a comedy and I find the Queen....annoying..... and Snow White...annoying...... 'Mirror Mirror' since KS isn't in it. I have seen her other movies, sadly, & she always plays the same type of sad/emo teen (type cased often?). Maybe it's her 'style'. I'm over her, & I'm sick of people trying to defend her 'acting'. Watch her interviews. Her natural demeanor is the same as ALL of the characters I've seen her as (4 in counting). That's not acting; that's being yourself. Real actors make you believing they are someone else. In every movie, I still see KS as herself.

The one thing about Snow White and the Huntsman that rubs me wrong is the casting of Kristen Stewart. I just can't buy into the idea of her as Snow White. She does not have the features that strike me as a beautiful girl that the queen is supposed to be threatened by, especially considering the queen looks like a friggin Swiss model. It seems like poor casting. Regardless, this movie has the most interesting looking story and I certainly have no qualms about Chris Hemsworth playing the huntsman

Basically, Snow White and the Huntsman is going to crush the other. I say this as someone who despises Kristen Stewart's acting. I will grant that I haven't seen her early films and after witnessing first hand the insulting performances of the Twilight series I have no desire to do so. Back on topic, with the excellent and visually appealing trailers and the fresh new premise, not to mention Chris Hemsworth, this movie will attract a wide range of audiences. I only hope Kristen proves me wrong.

All everybody knows kristen from is the twilight movies. If they had seen her in speak or the cake eaters (her early indie films) they would appriciate her acting skills more. She's amazing, and I truely believe that all she needs it this movie to pull her out of the judgement that she can't act. She takes the characters she plays very seriously, I love her. Never been a big fan of the saccharin sweet Disney Style fairytale's .So it won't be "Mirror Mirror".Everything about it looks very old fashioned and dated. 'Snow White and the Huntsman' on the other hand looks AMAZING! !!!!! I l LOVE the darker look of it. Charlize looks fantastic, and don't even get me started on Chris Hemsworth as "The Huntsman" (OMG!) ....even the soundtrack, based on the trailer sounds brilliant <3

btw, her real potential is fully shown in 'Speak', where she actually speaks very little, so she just has to 'play' the whole movie. I did not like her as an actress (as a model sure, she's gorgeous, for me at least) until I stumbled across 'Speak'. Luckily it was the 3rd movie I saw with her. Changed my whole perspective. Then I read the 'Twilight' books and understood that she plays Bella perfectly.

I guess I read the wrong series and confused it with the series about a comatose brat that only shows happiness (or emotion in general) when Jacob walks on set. The reason Twilight is mocked for its shallowness is based largely on the horrid portrayal by Kristen Stewart. I hope she plays better in this movie.

YAY more adult fairytale movies!!! Until this vid I had never heard of the second snow white movie to be released in 2012, only the Huntsman one and I'm nervous about that. K-Stew's characters are all the same (She did an amazing job in The Runaways tho) and I hope she changes up her acting style for this movie so it's watchable. It looks absolutely amazing. The other one I'd like to see aswell. I like movies with no big names. Makes it seem like they're more about the story.

Huntsman looks like it has a more impressive plot, while Mirror Mirror is prettier & more comical. I'm not a fan of comedy, but I like comedy more than I like Kristen Stewart. I would be happier if they switched the actresses playing the title character - or if they combined the two projects into something both aesthetically pleasing & action-packed (& starring a better actress). Besides, when they use "hair black as night, skin white as snow" in the trailer, shouldn't the actress reflect that?

Mirror, Mirror has a more fun, colorful look to it while Snow White has more of a darker look to it. I think that Mirror Mirror will sell because of Julia Roberts. I like the darker version more. I mean it depends what kind of taste you have. Either you like the jollier version, or you like the darker version. Darker version looks more epic and bad ass in my opinion. Ill probably see them both anyways but if I had to choose one, it would be Snow White and the Huntsmen. They have a better cast :D

Looking at Kristen play Snow White, I can't help but think, "The make up artists are shit." Can't even add lipstick to give her the red as blood lips. In "Mirror Mirror" the makeup is nice. But watching the trailer for "Mirror Mirror" I'm sitting here thinking it's a comedy. Personally, they BOTH RUINED Snow White, not talking about disney, (although done fairly well), but the real fairy tale. You know queen eating the heart, the 2 tricks before the apple & the queen dying in the wedding!!

@kipolem53 There are many versions of the story. In one the queen eats the heart. In the other she feeds it to the king. In another she doesn't ask for the heart but her lungs or liver instead. I have read a few versions; I used the one where the queen herself eats the heart because it is more symbolic to me: the queen's thirst for beauty.

I absolutely loved Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland and even though I kind of don't like Kristen Stewart this new lead might change my mind. Anyway I want to see both movies, to see how they are and to see which one blows the other out of the water (in other words-- better).

i think that the reason alice in wonderland was so popular was the fact that it was tim burton. i think that the second one might be good..
they should remake sleeping beauty, OMG LOVE :D
