  • Oh look, playback Ginger :D 0:15

  • i wish i could play like that while mashed out of my brains too,

  • @Jonezi92 Everybody was MASHED out of there brains back then Me included

  • acid is oozing out of my computer screen right now.

  • er..........shakesspear? dont you mean ginger baker?

  • The coolest thing is that if you've heard them for their 40th Reunion gig at Madison Square Garden you'd be amazed how well they still play together for three old Masters . . . . These are some of the Kings, no Michael Jackson shit sounds - - - King of Pop my ass!

  • Dig that fuckin Afro on Eric Clapton . . . whaaaat?

  • @SouthcoastContractor That afro and style was hipper than hip back than!

  • i want to have sex with clapton

  • thumbs up for the "Strange Perm"

  • Who was Clapton trying to look like with that Afro?

  • @randyreal574 I think Jimi Hendrix had not long hit London-it took all the Guitar players by surprise-I think Clapton said this Afro period was a nod to Jimi. This mimed 'performance' is very odd actually-Clapton looks like needs to go to the Toilet.

  • clapton is the man!!...lead,rythem,vocals,.......pure talent

  • Clapton is SO high...lol.

  • I am not a big Cream fan, but I've liked this song.

  • in my mind... "am in love with you." (hehehe)

  • Don't ya love Ginger's cape? And Eric's fro? Ah the 60's. I'm almost glad they're over. Almost.

  • Is that a bass jack is playing

  • @MoPower2112 yea Jack s playing a 6 string fender bass, looks like this was filmed after hendrix came to town

  • @duffinpaul ok thnx, cause im trying to learn some cream songs on bass, and i like this song but couldnt hear the bass, and when i watched the video it kinda made sense :P

  • porq hacen playback?

  • life was so easy back then

  • :reallife:

  • Eric- Well done on that perm, man.

  • It kind of looks as if they had some strange brew before this performance, but great nonetheless.

  • This is an early video and appears to be lip synched. Is that a Jaguar guitar (pronounced JEG-u-ar) that Bruce is pretending to play? Although lip synched, I like a lot of these Beat Club videos.

  • @johnnystaccata It Looks Like One, But It's A Bass Called the ''Fender V''

  • i love this song...

  • Clapton is a living GUITAR LEGEND!! I only dream of playing as good as he can.

  • @Tombstoneblues19

    Ever heard from Roy Buchanan?

    /watch?v=XrJVCDSO96o

  • They may dress like middle Earth Wizards but they play like Rock Gods !

  • CLAPTON IS GOD !!!!!

  • Eric the Rockpoodle Clapton :D

  • Comment removed

  • Eric Clapton looks so cool

  • wow the syncing is so obvious is sad....pathetic

  • dig GINGER'S cape,he was truly super man on the skins

  • at the drums...william shakespeare

  • @rebounce1000 "on guitar and lead vocals, "Frohand" Clapton

  • @rebounce1000 Mozart on guitar

  • @nonconformistt Yeah, I'm sure you're fully hip to the fact that that 'Clapton solo' is a straight copy of an Albert King solo (the one in 'Oh pretty woman')...

  • @rebounce1000 "is this a drum kit I see before me?"

  • @rebounce1000 At the guitar.... doctor who?

  • @rebounce1000 Nah, more like Ezra Pound

  • this vid is fro tastic

  • I think Clapton had some strange brew right before this performance... :D

  • even the great cream had to do lip syncing to get some exposure. sad....

  • Confused- Looks like Jack on a Gibson SG guitar and Eric on 6 stringed Fender Precision bass- Are they taking the piss because they're miming for TV- or is that Eric with the bad hair?-- But-- what a tune! How amazing is Strange Brew???

  • Comment removed

  • Clapton is god.

  • Ginger doesn't look baked for once lol :-)

  • Best Video Ever.

  • Great tune, lame hair.

  • Justin Bieber is GOD!! ...oh wait wrong video...

  • @met3112 hey,hey,hey, carefull there.

  • The more I listen to the oldies the more I dislike the newbies. Seriously today's music's kind of shit, rock has disappeared and pop is shittier than it ever was

  • @geomusicmove you are so right, I hate music from the last 30 years

  • @geomusicmove look further than mtv and the radio and I'm sure you'll find some music from current artists that you'll enjoy

  • @scottj19x89 MTV? does it still exist? ha! I don't even remember last time I watched mtv, as for the radio, it's always been pretty lame apart from rare exceptions. But I wasn't talking about myself, I do find some new good bands now and then. I was talking about today's popular music culture. I don't think it regards hard working talented musicians but easy listen pop, computer made electro stuff or gangsta speaking bull...but it's a matter of taste I guess...

  • @geomusicmove naaa there still some good things, have you heard about The Black Angels? they're really good, and absolutely not mainstream.

  • @rippersk8er Yes, I have, they're good not really my thing though. If you read my comment again you'll see that I did say there are a few good bands around nowadays but that is not the point I was making

  • @geomusicmove I completely agree.

  • @geomusicmove yeah, just look at the great albums that came out in 1967 and those who came out in 2007... true but sad

  • @rippersk8er Absolutely. I dread to imagine what will come out in 2017 at this rate lol.

Popular music (rock, pop, jazz, and all their sub-genres) had their peak in quality and qantity in the 70s then started to decline slowly but steadily. There were still a few new good things in the 90s and a lot less in the 00s. I don't know if it's because of the music industry, the media or people just got lazy. Real good stuff was mainstream back then, now it's fringe music for a few people

  • @geomusicmove so true. I also spend a lot of time listening to old delta blues and lots of chicago blues, actual crap is so soulless

  • @geomusicmove I think it is because people are too lazy to go and find out what good music there is out there, so they just listen to what they are told to listen and don't have to look for.

  • Oh, and so was Jack Bruce :) Cute that is, in case someone happens to comment between this comment and my last. Now his voice...AH MY GAD! SO HOT!

  • Awww, widdle Ewic only being 22 years old! ^_^ In all seriousness, such a hot song :D And Eric was so damn cute in these days :D

  • is..is that Cedric from the Mars-Volta???

  • @oilreserve Seriously just fuck you fuck you.

  • @thatguru877 haha you see it though dont you,, i seriously thought he was randomly synced into some old footage like they did with tom hanks in forest gump lol

  • @prashantjohn i dont know how you think you know i listen with my eyes...but i think that you should know musician-to-musician that i have been playing guitar sicnce i was 9 and i play bass harmonica drums and i take my music seriously for a youngster (16 right now). I see that you are a musician and i can Absolultley respect that...and I thank you very much for Keepin on Rockin in the free world and listning to good music! And have a nice day good sir! :)

  • They were looking quite 'mod'.I believe that was the correct terminology for back in that day.Lookin' at this makes me think of a treasured artifact, very precious.

  • I think they all where stoned too ;)

  • Eric Clapton looks like Hair Bear Bunch!!!!!!!!!

  • the lead singer wants to be sick.....fantastic song and group though.....

  • Clapton looks so awkward lol

  • Ginger Baker did a killer drum roll at 1:48 lol

  • Capt. Barbosa can really play them drums lol :)

  • @kd4adv Fuck you thats Ginger Baker

  • @nicholasomesfilms Hey, I Do know who Ginger Baker is. You need to get serious help.

You got some major issues deep within that mind of yours, if you choose to take comments so damn serious. GEEZ. It's just a joke, dude. And you don't talk that way to me. Read My Post and see what negative comments I made that hurt your feelings. Don't see any? Know why? There isn't any? Chill Out!

  • Клептон круто, но клип ну просто гомосеки :))

  • They're all high as hell, so great haha

  • ma che cosa suona Jaack Bruce?

  • @alessio6678 un basso elettrico forse?

  • love this song

  • Clapton trying to look WAY too pretentious in this lip-sync!

  • @MattHatter I don't think anyone would try to look pretentious do you? Is it even possible to do that?

  • i love cream in and around my mouth

  • Cool you notice that too but i don't think he is laughing at clapton's hair but the lyric they just sang. "On a boat in the middle of the raging sea, She would make a scene for it all to be ignored. and wouldn't you be bored?

I'm always thinking during this part bakers expression and it feels that they are referring to somebody they have witness thrown a tantrum and it made good of a story for a song.

  • 1:39 Baker is laughing at Clapton's hair haha :)

  • Comment removed

  • Van Gogh on Drums.

  • Oh man, to think that that kind of music was played on TV music programs then.... compared to the crap we get now

  • This song was on the charts the same week that Pink Floyd's Arnold Layne was released.

  • Hey sholakeenan,,,,how old are you? that was the style back then! did u excpect them to wear member only jackets?

  • Why is Jack Bruce dressed all conservative like it's 1963?

  • And I always thought Kevin Keegan was the first one with the perm.

  • Clapton should have stayed with Gibson...

  • Weird Clapton face at 1:44

  • The drummer are in a another place...

  • @TheFoxtrader

    Ginger Baker, I assume?

  • Clapton looks like a geek in this one - kinda reminds me of Robert De Niro, making those faces - but Jesus what a band, each musician in complete command. The best of their time.

  • i will always watch this video for that great fro of eric's

  • His hair does look ridiculous and I am of that generation and I would have called it ridiculous in 1968. Ok, maybe 'ridiculous' is a little harsh but Clapton was a nice looking guy and he wasn't doing himself any favors with that hair! Still my top guitarist.

  • what a sexy guitar, mr. clapton... is it marble?

  • A great number of late 60's/early 70's musicians sported Afro haircuts (the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Mike Bloomfield, to name a few).

Both Jack Bruce and Noel Redding were playing Fender 6-string basses at about the same time period.

What I find difficult to believe here is that Cream actually allowed themselves to be filmed whilst mime-synching with a recording.

  • good music, and 1500's like appearance

  • i cant take claptin seriously after seeing this XD that damn poodle!

  • @Nekoman95 Ah gotcha - a guy who listens with

his eyes.one of those ...the bane of good musicians Really pity you you shallow fellow. your hairstyle will look like a geek's 30 years from now too, you know.

  • fthat was fantastic

  • Im 12 and this is a crap load better than the music we get today,by far.........

  • I love the way Clapton can hardly move under the weight of that barnet

  • Magic. When Clapton was god (even if he did resemble Michael Palin, with a bad case of piles).

  • 6 string BASS???

  • @KRUSTYskates welcome in the 70's xDDD

  • Anyone notice the dead bird hung from jack bruce's bass?

  • I think Ginger Baker had a little too much "Strange Brew" :O

  • Hey, don't get me wrong, this is great. But to me it almost looks like a bit from Spinal Tap--with Michael Palin playing all parts!

  • something's wrong with the people who dislike this. WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE???????!!!!!!!!

  • @breadboyplaysguitar Their hairs. :P

  • @breadboyplaysguitar

    there's always that insignificant .0001%

  • @breadboyplaysguitar for one, who's playing the riffs when the clap is playing chords..haha..obviously backing track...

  • Je plane...

  • this band was an amazing gift of God

  • Eric Clapton was so sexy.

  • @ILoveVitas909 What he is dead?!

  • @noprofitmaximierung umm no...he's just old lol

  • Clapton looks a little bit like Dr.Cox from Scrubs

  • Obviously the don’t like playback. Right!

  • i had no idea clapton was in the yardbirds and cream. haha

  • Comment removed

  • Conan on the drums

  • Back when music had meaning..

  • Ginger Baker is such a chill guy.

  • they're so average lol, i don't know how they got so famous

  • Jack Bruce looks like he is going to throw up at 1:14

  • For those that don't know Jack Bruce didn't play bass during this one pause at 0:30 look theres 6 tuning pegs (the amount of tuning pegs on a standard guitar) a bass has 4 tuning pegs

  • @Thelonesniper101 I think it's a Fender Bass VI. But anyway none of them are playing. I've always wondered how does a drummer "lip sync"?

  • read my review of Rolling Stone's latest list of greatest guitarists of all time here

    allsoundsmusic.blogspot.com/2011/11/debate-surrounding-rolling-stones-list.html

  • theres nothing like a shampoo and set!

  • @ZenHoboproductions

That's because his drugs were better than ours.

  • God, this vid is awesome in so many ways: Clapton's SG and outfit, Bruce's Fender Bass VI, Baker singing along while looking like Dracula...well, awesome and funny.

  • I will always 20/11/11 13.39. It was the first time I heard Cream!

  • @popsnorman Listen to Derek and the Domminos,Key to the Highway.Erics next band

  • I know it is swinging london and stuff, but with that crap in his neck Clapton is stiff as fuck and thus looking like a clown.

  • @PatentApplied

Back then, in London, it got him laid every 5 seconds.

  • @grabit1 So true haha.

  • is there a dance for Psychedelic rock?

  • @SlayboarderFilms yes, it's called "getting stoned."

  • the solo eric clapton does in the end is the same exact solo from Albert King's Oh pretty woman wow

  • why is Clapton wearing a poodle on his head ?

  • @sholakeenan That's Jack.

  • @camarorider67 no, thats eric clapton and i think he's talking about his afro.

  • @mahavishnuxc Yeah, my bad, Eric didn't normally sing so that threw me off.

  • @sholakeenan

We all wore poodles and Nehru shirts. It was the fashion.

  • @sholakeenan Oh, baby, yeah, but he still was old slow hand !!!

  • @sholakeenan It's not a Poodle, is a epic style.

  • @sholakeenan Because they were fresh out of Bulldogs ?

  • @sholakeenan some girl must have told him it would look good.

  • @sholakeenan poodles were in back then buddy!

  • Ahhh the 60's back when most live performances were lip-synched

  • nobody's singing how funny--there just goofin ((((love the cream

  • jack Bruce is pretty quiet in this song!

  • that is a fender 6 string bass that jack is playing not a guitar!

  • Blues rock guitarist Eric Clapton, bass player Jack Bruce and jazz-influenced drummer Ginger Baker.

  • Why is the bassist playing a guitar?

  • @manolo578 it's a sixstring bass fender made in the early days

  • The miming is worse than a japanese dubbed kung-fu film!
