  • by the waz the guy holding the cam must have been on some drugs or waz drunk lol

  • fucking asshole blowing up a good moter when you cud have pulled it out and sold it

  • What a slew of hillbilly fucktards! Yeeeaaahhh! Lets all get together and stand around a car while its engine blows...good times! Mother fuckers need lives seriously...just saying

  • davidsfarm??

  • I love the people crying about this. Come on the car was dead quit whining because nobody wants a recycled buick engine :P

  • Don't you guys just love your meth?

  • Idiots!!!!

  • Famous last words of a Red-Neck "We've done this before" "Hold my beer" "Hey guys, Watch this" , You say 'todays victim' Whats the deal, You do this as a service?

  • i f i was you i would drive it at the redline not in park

  • I was going to jump on the bandwagon and bash you but the engine did sound like it was on its last legs... so I cant.. ususlly thats one of the best engines ever and runs for a long time.. I know of the three 3800's weve owned the one that died the soonest had 238k miles on it.. and it was an accident it still ran

  • Those Buick 3800s are great engines. That's a shame.

  • that thing cammed? haha

  • You suck at filming.

  • great job i just recently sold a 94 lesabre for 700 bucks and the warranty lasted to the end of my driveway-get what im saying -the guy that bought that pos from me acted like he was in a new caddy-good luck with that junker dude-hope you get home and dont have to call a wrecker to get you home-lol-them old gm cars last for ever-the one i unloaded had 260 thousand on odometer-wow

  • @super151985 yep u got that right those engines are strong, and no that guy will make it home and drive that car for more years. we have an 98 oldsmobile lss since it only had 20,000 miles about 11 years ago and now it passed to me and the engines is very powerful and its almost hitting 210,000. only did lower intake gasket set once since then, will need one soon though.

  • never shut off an overheating motor, it will seize up

  • @CVRealMan so just let it overheat forever

  • @intangibledc no... run it until it blows, it had rod knock and as you said it was overheating, it would not have taken that long.

  • its hard to kill those 3800s those engines are amazing last along time =D

  • Its hard to kill a 3800 those are badass engines!!

  • They probably make the same noises during sex (assuming it wasn't cattle). YEEEE HAW IM GIVIN ER

  • next time ya try to blow one up, if its auto, unbolt the module on the tranny "gear selector" w/e ya wanna call it. and manually put it in drive and leave it off the tranny, so the computer think its in drive, and the tranny is still set in park or neutral w/e ya want. no rev limiter...would blow up nicer ha:). 6k plus blow up vs w/e it was cuttin off at..4k r so...just saying ha.

  • you would have blown it up alot faster if the dude tryin to blow it wouldnt have floored it and just about 3/4 4 throttle.......helllooooo.....rev limiter......theyre made to not blow your car up.........

  • Dude haah cnt kill her u jus had to call it quits! I love mine in my impala ls! I have a vid of her on my channel. The damn thing looks like new! I fuckin baby that thing tho

  • the dude in the car has tits

  • @0:34 Try it

  • why not take the oil out next time

  • why not ake the oil out next time

  • What the hell!?

  • i wanna beer and a front row seat next time, alright billy bob?

  • Idiots.

  • i don't mind being called a red neck it's a badge of honor really but anyhow bet it was a ford in which brought it home >:D

  • @NytrixOctane nope.... Dodge 3500 cummins

  • @spoolinaround man you guys are just looking to make enemy's aren't you

  • @NytrixOctane why is that?

  • @spoolinaround just to let you know i was joking to my previous statement... but anyways because everyones mentioning that you blew up a chevy and your a stupid red neck so on so forth

  • you are very wimp!!!!!!!

  • @paul8246 lolWUT?

  • This happens when yo don't go to school...

  • this car probably had over 200000 miles on it... but it still did not need to end like this

  • /watch?v=ufsf_-a_H9Q

  • Why not just replace the rod instead of killing it?

  • GM cars are not reliable as Japanese cars the best cars are the Germans these are Reliable

  • @megangel5 you thnk german cars are reliable?

  • german cars are unreliable and you like rotors arguing make is pointless today unless its korean ive owned datsun audis bmws shitloads of fords a chev impala commodores(australian cars with buick v6s) and remain open to everything,i have nothing against rotors but the best ive ever seen is 250000kms from a rotor constantly maintained, ive seen a bmw on 450000M(only car with lifetime warranty on the timing chain)also check out the cash for clunkers bmw engine ran for 2 mins with liquid glass added

  • @560287144602817 i like rotors because theres no other engine even like it, its one of the most creative engines ever built. not the most reliable. and yeah, you can find any car that makes it long. even when 99% of a certain car fail at 100K, theres always gonna be a small percentage that lasts past 200K. and im american so im talking in fucking miles

  • @560287144602817 have you ever seen how many k's the australian ford 4.0L inline 6 does? and how much torque it puts out standard? its insane and soo reliable.

  • Ha ha. You had to drain the anti freeze and cook the engine, because if you didn't that Buick would never die. Buick V6 is the toughest ever made.

  • new air cooled engines?

  • sounds like the harmonic balancer to me

  • your camerman sucks

  • @sLAKYification Your spelling sucks.

  • @TheDavidpayne Yea there was that thing was knocking on death's door.

  • Good Riddance lol and no this would never be my carI take care of my nice 97 Mercury Mountaineer with AWD and a 5.0 V8!

  • need a better camera man

  • @frosty9595 yeah there pretty damn tough u can run those fuckers on no oil for years lol

  • To all fucktards out there just look at a video w/ a V6 car with no muffler and all you hear is a deep tone with no rattle; there is a lot of rattling in this video. The rod knock is there. And if you paid attention to the little walk around he did the body was also rotted; that car was by no means salvagable. I love LeSabres too, but this particualar one has reached the end of it's useful life. Nothing is forever so just shut the fuck up & if you don't like the video, THAN DON"T WATCH IT!!!!

  • @TheDavidpayne trust me it was there

  • retarded

  • @wilsmanpeterexcess yup you sure are....

  • That is so stupid. How can you do that to a car.

  • @JonesSoda101 because I can

  • @spoolinaround so this is what a bunch of low life rednecks do for fun.

  • nice footage of the sky over the motor....

  • wat a waste of engine

  • @solis81492 yup, it was fun too

  • @solis81492 not at all, it had a bad knock. at the very minimum, it would need a crank and a new rod

  • i would of just took it off roading

  • Those 3.8's are bulletproof.

  • Fucking red necks.

  • @Jamerio3D no we wern't fucking... we were blowing a car motor.

  • @spoolinaround awesome!!

  • @Jamerio3D fucking city slicker

  • its fixable, 3800 series dont die unless u run it without oil, experienced it by accident in moms buick lesabre 01 engine lasted 5 minutes without oil but didnt relize it had no oil till it seized on the highway, all the oil leaked out and the oil pump was stuck closed :( all of the oil bursted through the oil filter. had 250,000 miles though!!!

  • @frosty9595 2 mill...i call bullshit!

  • @frosty9595 While I agree this is a good engine, there's no way you could get 2 million miles out of one. II've seen 1 million miles on many diesel engine, and a Ford E150 with a gasoline engine. But 2 million miles? I doubt it.

  • @frosty9595 i killed mine in my 86 olds... it only had 87k and it just quit. i was so pissed

  • You guys are dumber than the average...

  • cant fuck with a buick 3.8!!!

  • lol, it wasn't locked up. if it was, it wouldn't be crankin'.

  • 3800 are cam blowers not rods

  • my dad had a 99 olds intrigue whit this engine the motor hydrolocked twice beaucause of the plastik plenum and after that we go for a trip and the motor star to overheating so we stop of the side of the road all the coolant boils out the oil pump get clough beaucause my dad forgot to clean the oil pan after the cars get hydrolock so the engine was screwded but the cars was start like a brand new even wiht a blown engine really tough

  • that sounds like the 305 in my truck when i try to start it...

  • @5:10 he says 'I think she's pretty well locked up' while its turning over. Turning over means NOT locked up. Then they'r upset that it won't start after 4 minutes of bouncing off the rev limiter? Der! I bet the car was wine before these guys got to it.

  • look @ these guys trying so hard to destroy it. If thats a 97 that knocks than there is something definately wrong with this picture. Either it wasnt well maintained or you drove it hard to the ground. I have a 91 olds delta 88 (which is ready to go to the scrap yard because of all the rust) with the same engine with 254,000km and it fires up nicer and faster than my 03 monte carlo. I also floored that car numerous amount of times, and she still gives.

  • According to junkyard near me, any good 3800 is yanked before it gets to the back yard.

Checking the internet, some over 100,00 are more money than I would pay.

I bought a 95 T-bird engine at pick n pull for $189.00 with only 65,000 on it. it was for a 91 and I had to take some late model parts off. A very rare deal at any self service yard. The car was hit front and back and only been there a day or so.

such a deal. Pick n' Pull. bring a friend for security though.

  • this just goes to show the supioriority of a true gm legand the amazing 3800 seriesII, no pos vtec of bullshit like that woulda ran this long with a bad knock! these motors would run forever with regular car go gm!

  • yeah its like a monkey has the camera. you guys are just mean to kill a car that still ran good.

  • Ran good? Had a rod knock from the start. It would take 2 grand to fix an engine from a car worth 1000 max.

  • More like 100 max look at the rust on the rocker panels, hell they was rusted off. depending if it was a series 1 or series 2 3800, would dertermine if it was good or not.

  • Dude at the beginning said 97, so Series 2.

Does tell you something though, they started with bad rod knock, and no coolant, (probably linked, bet you the UIM gasket was just GONE) and it still took em that long to seize it. I'll bet you if they'd let it cool for half an hour it would have started again, too.

  • You picked the wrong guy to hold the camera.

  • I love my Oldsmobile Intrigue 3800 seriesll. She's never let me down. In collage I traveled 1,000 miles per week so I changed my oil every month and serviced her often. She's gone through rain, sleet, snow, Lightning storms etc. Never gave up on me and shows no signs dying. I drive her hard and have never had a problem. 3800 series was the best V6 GM ever made. (except intake) Their other V6s don't come close. They should be shot for discontinuing them! Only good one GM made.

  • To bad, those gm 3.8ls were strong, hard to kill, reliable engines!

  • Loved seeing this video. Had te identical car and it gave me so many problems. Wish I could have done this but I needed some resale money.

  • did you ever have bad vibrations at higher speeds and steering shake?

  • go look at my atempt at it

  • A comon problem with these engines (8th letter of the vin # is the letter 'K') they have a plastic upper intake plenum, when the coolant gets hot, it melts that plenum allowing water to get in the engine. Being water doesnt compress, it weakens the rods, and eventually shoots them through the block. Most likely this happened to this car. GM should have recalled the motor, but never did. The older 3800 had an aluminum plenum. Pontiac Boneville, and others had this same engine and problem too.

  • The shouldn't recall the engine, the engine are very reliable. They sholdve recalled the intake. I never heard of one shooten water out the block, usually it will Hydro Lock it. Which can be fixed rather easily. Remove the water,r replace intake with NEW style upper plenum.

  • thats the 3800 for you i tihkn any other motor would of blew gone a while ago

  • Great video of the sky dumbass.

  • This is a great engine.

  • i fliped my car and the hood and battrie went flying and the moter and trans are still good love the 3800

  • it hurts to see this but shes not blown you blew her head gaskets first the rev limiter kept you from blowing and shes a good motor i hear no knock just a loud exhaust

  • trust me the knock was there, you could hear it before I cut the catalytic converter off

  • I've got that same car, '97 LeSabre as my workmobile. I love it.

  • I got $20 that says you cant fix the spun rod bearing in 10 minutes

  • Im talking about getting it running again, Fixing the bearing would be interisting to watch someone try to fix it in 10 minuites.

  • Now y'all can keep it as a trophy on your front lawn.

  • wow gettin kind of close

  • wow id laft if it blew up and they died lol

  • I've killed two of those motors in my 96' buick.

  • Dan can't aim a camera well :(

  • Hmm.... Well I have tried running my truck which has a 24v Cummins motor in it at redline while in neutral and it still just goes up to the redline then purrs along without bouncing. Must be the difference between the limiters. I find that bouncing annoying. Like it's busted or something.

  • my 12V goes to 4100 and stays there, on diesels they just start cutting fuel back when they get to the speed the fuel rack is set at

  • You can't kill those. Turbo-less Buick Grand National, a beast. The only I could have killed it would be go get it up to about 80 mph and then put it into first. Since I have a 92' Le Sabre, I say that it's no sportscar. But I get 30 MPG driving 70 Mph Everywhere.

  • When you run them wide open why do they seem to rev up and down a little bit? When I am running my truck wide open it is nice and smooth.

  • its got a rev limiter so its bouncing off of it

  • My question though was why does it do that? On my Dodge RAM when floor it there isn't any "bouncing" off the rev limiter. It just goes to the redline and sits there smooth and steady as does most heavy equipment I have used.

  • The rev limiter is only in effect when in park or neutral, while your driving you can red line it all you want. But some cars have 2 rev limiters, one for when your in park or neutral, and another for when your driving. Heavy equipment wouldn't have one at all because it needs all the horsepower and torque it can get

  • diesel's cut fuel, well, limit fuel at max rpm. Petrol's cut the spark till the revs drop then turn it back on - so it bounces up and down around the redline.

  • Got to do better camera work, we could not see the "climatic" moment!

  • How much did the camera guy have to drink? my God hold the camera still!

  • thanks for showing cars hood in a most exiting moment...

  • sounds badass.

    but mine sounds cooler. haha

  • Now ya gotta feed the motor to one of SSI's super shredder machines....That would be sweet :)

  • Thats a GM 3800 it starts on fire before it blows!

  • If you want to overheat an engine drive on the freway through it in neutral and redline it and watch the tachometer bounce up and down

  • Not an easy engine to kill! I know, I've tried!

  • I had a 1997 crown vic with the defective intake and I accidently did the same thing these guys did unintionally by running the car hot. That tells ford engines are a pice of cake to kill

  • well the 3800's are just hard to kill. Most GM engines are from the 90's back. GM/Ford/Chrysler--they're all great machines. We should be annihilating JapScrap not real cars anyways. =0)

  • u r my man!!

  • @makaveli087 yeah! fuck them japs!! god damn nips need to go back to where they come fum!!! no japs in my neighbourhood!! only good ol american whites!!! fuck everyone from every other country!!!! yeee haw!!!! GM POWER@!!!!! WHITE POWER!!!!!

  • I already did, it went 6 minutes

  • Hell, Chrysler engines would blow in the first 10 seconds!

  • @ActiveWorldsLunitic

Mine lasted five minutes and twenty seconds before we decided the hole in the front of the engine was allowing too much oil out and was making a huge smokey mess. Very low on oil and coolant at the time. It drove itself onto the tow truck.

  • @electricshockproof What were you doing it to, though? If it's anything made before '95, then i'm not surprised, their older cars were a lot better.

  • @ActiveWorldsLunitic You really searched back a year?

  • @electricshockproof Yeah, someone replied to my comment on this video, and while trying to figure out what I originally said, I saw your comment, which never showed up in my inbox.

  • @ActiveWorldsLunitic alot of Chrysler and dodge cars have below average reliability but if Chrysler wants to stay around much longer hopefully there 2011s are alot better.

  • @victoriadish My grandma had a '01 PT Cruiser - biggest piece of shit ever made, it'd actually leave lines of antifreeze behind it when you'd drive.

  • I misread the article, it was mountede to a bell housing for 60 degree engines when the earlier 3800's were used for rear drive cars. It is a 90-degree; I stand corrected

  • I was surprised on this one because cosmetically the car looks fantastic...u sure it couldn't have been repaired?

  • Here is what you need to know about the Buick 3.8L (231ci) V6 and its related ones. First off, it is a 60 degree V6. Secondly, just to settle the arguments I have seen others have, the 4.3L (262ci) V6 is NOT related to the 3.8 in any way shape or form. The 4.3 is a 90 degree V6 that started in 1985. The GM engineers took the drawings for the Chevy 5.7L (350ci) V8 and omitted the 2 back cylinders and hence you got the 4.3L, so that settles that dispute.

  • . Most people are thinking of the 4.1L (252ci) V6 in which GM just added 0.165 (3.71mm) to the bore of the 3.8 And yes, there was also a 4.1L (250ci) V8 as well, but that was made by Cadillac exclusively for the 79-85 Eldorado

  • Suburbanator, The people who are saying that the GM 4.3-262 is the same block as 3.8 Buick don't even know the 4.1 Buick existed. They are too retarted.

    seeyou-mirrors

The 3.8 is NOT a Buick 350 minus two cylinders either. It was designed before the Buick 350 came to be. As others have stated.

  • I think someone got confused with the 4.3 V6 and the Chevy 350 V8.

  • its a GM u cant blow the motor

  • Maybe the audio was poor, but I did not hear a rod knocking?? Sounded like a good engine with some cooling system problems and bad exhaust.

I have tried this before and most engines will run a long time with major lower end problems. Good luck on the destruction of the next one. Try draining all but one quart of oil next time that usually works. It gives enough lube to keep it from locking up and most of the time its all in the head. You can get a rod to throw for sure that way.

  • i wrecked my 92 buick and drove for around 6 miles with no oil or radiator.

  • i had a 93 put 350,000 on it sold it dude put on 100,000 more on it and traded it in because of an oil leak they fixed leak and sold it adn guy traded it back in then they just junked it cause it had over 500,000 miles on it. damn things go forever. all frewway miles i think.

  • why do you usean extinguisher if your tring to blow it up?

if it doesnt start at least blow the starter....maybe throw some firecrackers in the engine

  • no put bleach in it

  • its a beast

  • that is a stupid comment. The GM 3800 is by far the strongest v6 motor made by gm. Look at the vid took that long to blow.

  • when you've still got oil, and coolant with the 4,500rpm Neutral/park rev limiter. yeah - it will last a while.

if its the strongest V6 they made, explain the 4.3 Turbo in the GNX, Typhoon, and Cyclone.

  • 3.8 is the strongest 4.3 is just the fastest.

  • when a motor has to hold boost the con rods and bottom end were reinforced - I admit Im not an expert on the GM OHV v6s but that doesnt make sense to me

  • it depends on which 3.8 motor it is some are super charged so they reinforced the con rods or bottom end so they dont come apart from all the boost from the charger. the 4.3 are about as fast as the supercharged 3.8's they are also built up for the power and speed. i think there the same blocks maybe dont know for sure just bored over and reinforced 3.8 blocks. i think i dont rememeber for sure.

  • the 4.3 is basically a stroked 3.8

  • You all need to get your GM V6 facts straight.

The 4.3 has nothing in common with the 3.8 V6.

The 3.8 is 60 degree V6. The 4.3 is a 90 degree V6, and is basically a 350 small block missing 2 cylinders. Also, the GNX was powered by the 3.8, not 4.3

  • really so your telling me that if you stroke a 3.8 you wont have 4.3 liters of displacement, why dont you get YOUR facts straight, because the 3800 never was or ever will be a 60 degree engine, its a 90* dont tell me im wrong, i owned 4 of these cars. i also never said the gnx was powered by a 4.3. now the 3.8 i am refering to is the l26 and l36,l67 and l32. look it up

  • wtf are you talking about 3.8 are the same block as the 4.3. 4.3's are just bored over 3.8's learned it in gm school. i just couldnt remember for sure if i was right and another tech has verified my learnings. you cannot cut 2 cyclinders out of a v8 wont happen. they are molded solid.

  • yes they are both the same block, but i dont belive its bored over, the block is too thin for that, im pretty sure its stroked

  • thats what i meant lol my bad. i went to a votech certified by gm and the state of fl for auto tech 14 years ago. i do my own work on my cars its cheaper and all but i never can get anything straight. i know what i am talking about but nobody else does lol.

  • if you "learned" the 3.8 and the 4.3 are the same block in "gm school" try saying awake in class and pay attention to the instructor. the other tech that verified your learning was either too dumb to tie his own shoes or a ford tech, the 4.2 and 3.8 fords are the essentially the same

  • hmmm i think you should have dumb ass, piece of shit ford dont make a 4.2 they do however make a 3.8, 4.0 and a 4.6 and for staying awake. why dont you try speelling class yooouuus neeeeeddssss itttssss realllyyy baaad. and its a damn good thing we wenrt talkin about shitty fords in the first place. if it isnt a 76 or older its junk.

  • hey retard the 4.2 is a f150 v6 so if you are smart as you think you are you would as least look it up on the internet which you obviously have, but then again look at who I'm telling it to its amazing that you can read

  • thats what i thought gm had said lol.

  • the 4.3 is a chevy 350 with two cylinders missing and the 3.8 is a BUICK 350 with two cylinders missing and destoked from a 3.85" stroke to a 3.40". They did make 4.1 but that was from 81 to 83 only. the only thing that the 3.8 and 4.3 share in common is that are both v6's and they are made by GM and thats it!
