Janeway was a raging, psychotic, bipolar bitch in this episode........AND there's no consequences and she doesn't have to deal with any of her actions. Typical Voyager really.
Omg more annoying Voy haters here, watch the dam episode carefully,Voy shields had trouble coz of the atmospheric properties of this planet.and voy was badly damage u clearly see the massive breaches on the ship.
To this day it remains a crappy scene. Equinox couldn't outrun Voyager, the old atmosphere trick wouldn't have hidden the ship. All Janeway had to do was maintain a high orbit and wait for them. But what does she do - damages her ship by taking it in. But for added complaining - Voyager was designed for atmospheric entry!
@ShoulderAB07 its best not to look to close or think to hard when watching vog. it will ruin the series for you if you start to notice that every ep has atleast 1 plot hole or just doest something that didnt make sense
I would not want to be Janeway's first officer, she was so unpredictable and random it was scary. Maybe Chakotay should have offered her a few drinks. McCoy would always serve Kirk alcohol when he wanted to get into the captains head...but that would have been crossing the line.
i have a question was the equinox crew and captian considerd renagades? where they prosucuted when they reached earth? also rember when in the end janeway tells chakotay u did have legal grounds for your own mutiny and chakotay said that would be gping over the line remember?
@kellyberry I would imagine both Equinox and Marquise crew were prosecuted. However the Marquise probably would hav had their charges dropped. I am also sure that one of the Equinox crew could have pressed charges against Janeway for threatening to kill him when he was locked in the cargo bay with that creature.
The title of this video seems a bit odd...Chakotay was in the right the way I see it, he was doing what a first officer is supposed to do, and that got in the way of Janeway's battle for vengence. It's not like Chakotay did anything wrong IMO.
@twosocks1976 No he wasn't, he dared defy the Janeway. There is only room in the Delta Quadrant for one genocidal, rule breaking Starfleet Captain in her eyes and to hell with anyone who disagrees.
Also voyager was showing more damage to it than when it had that silly battle with a cube where it recieved non, they always focus on the technobabble then make such gleaming mistakes elsewhere.
"Recieved"? "Non"? "Gleaming mistakes"? I'd have to say that you seem to focus a lot on insults while making such obvious errors yourself. Generally helpful to learn to spell before picking on another's shortcomings.
Every time a new ship is shown usually it is destroyed within the same episode, uss yamato, uss pegasus, uss jenolan, uss equinox the list goes on, and non of these were to do with big wars either.
@matthew5484 The USS Prometheus wasn't destroyed. Neither was the USS Relativity, or all those other ships shown on the Utopia Planitia shipyard. On balance, most "new ships shown" weren't "destroyed withing the same episode."
Oh my god, just when we finally thought that we weren't alone... Turns out that the others like us were a bunch of jerks and most of them are mostly dead...
The planet looks absolutely fantastic in this episode. I don't know what they did, but I've always been super impressed. It looks like the orbit of a real planet.
It's also possible they were already damaged during the battle. They were also chasing the Equinox xo they may have been commming in too fast. All factors together with the damaging atmosphere just might have been too much for the shields.
because, and you'd know this if you watched the episode carefully instead of nitpicking, voyager's shields were under constant attacks from those "other realm" beings. that, coupled with a steep atmospheric entry AND a battle was just a little too much...

@matthew5484 Pegasus was never destroyed per say, but it was found and left disabled inside the asteroid.

It's called C.G.I and it is something with no limits!!!
I know it sounds a little too direct in the way I put it but I'm meaning it as a joke...

I know! CGI has come a long way. The CGI in Voyager and DS9 was always top notch.

Why the hell were Voyager's shields having problems in a planetary atmosphere? It's designed to be able to land!
Odyssey1319 3 years ago
I'm not to sure but i believe that planet had a quantagenic atmosphere that disrupts their shields.

WTF would she follow them into the planet's atmosphere? Why not just stay in orbit right above them, it's not like they could go anywhere.
spork24601 3 years ago
I've always said the same thing. Stay in orbit and wait for them to come back up.
