Wonderful ! :) Pure magic TABLAS make my heart sway to its DELIGHTFUL RHYTHM with a big "SMILE" ! :) Can NOT get enough of Ustad ZAKIR HUSSAIN, the charming Tablas Maestro he is ! :) LOVE his magical, amazing talent on the Tablas, just as much as a JOY to see him up close in person playing with that divine trance he gets into while drumming out the mesmerizing, magical sounds from his favorite instrument, as have seen/met him in concerts small & big, here in the BayArea. :)
@ritupm Dear Ritu, it is mind blowing indeed, particularly in the last few minutes. What a big art it is, to be able to play it with this perfection. The science of playing tabla seems deeper than oceans alone. What kind of great acoustic beauty and influence tabla imparts needs no emphasis. A trail of great songs containing tabla is crossing my mind at the moment Chali gori pe se milan ko chali, Nache man mora magan, Dil ki duniya basa ke sanwaria, and dozens others. Thanks a lot Ritu.
@WillFielder78 I thank you for that. With literally tens of thousands of shots to choose from among my Flickr friends, sometimes the right shot finds me, by accident, as it were, and I just go with it.
What's weird is that it's rare that my Flickr friends agree with me that a shot goes with the music at all. I'm glad you hear and see things more like I do!
@TheFutureClassics Well, don't ever try to emulate Indian percussionists anyway. The musical tradition in which they work is unique in all the world! - and some even call it insane.

Did you count to 8? And did you make four regular counts of 8 before starting a new set of four 8-counts?

i think the flower in the picture helps bring out beauty from the music and lures people into grasping for it. :)

Yesterday I tried to play "drums" on the back of a big cooking pan, didn't sound as good as this :-))
