  • Hey great video.I'm gonna head up this or next weekend to a local place that has awesome fossils.

I have a question, if anyone can answer it-

What is the chemical make-up of the most common fossils? Like, if you broke up/crushed some fossils, and mixed the fossils in water....what would the water mostly consist of? ie: nitrogen / ro hydrogen? Please let me know if you know the answer. I've tried googleing my question, but had no luck. Please respond asap. Thanks alot for your time.

  • d2paintballer: Wow, I'm suprised that there hasn't been a response posted. What a fossil consists of is entirely dependant on the location it is first buried. The minerals in the groud water that lead to it's eventual fossilization will replace the organic material. It could be replaced by a great many minerals, like pyrite, silica, dolomite, and on and on. It all depends on what's available in the environment. Sorry I'm not more help.

  • You will have to goggle Texas fossil clubs .There are cretaceous sea and land vertebrate fossils .You might need a permit to collect bones .

  • Someone wrote in that 440 million years ago was the Sillurian .Not according to prevalent geological literature . It is the late Ordovician .

  • thats cool

  • These are Cincinnatian world famous Ordovician period fossils. Cincinatian is the name of the rock unit .Cincinatian epoch is the name these animals where alive .

  • The word label graphics are 3 seconds too soon .Have you noticed in some videos the audio words and visual mouth are out of synch.Same problem here with graphics.
