  • I think that if the government does this that they are crossing a very fine line. Does this mean that they will now tax any paycheck that they don't believe is deserved?

    The AIG bonuses weren't for executives or anybody else, they were contractual, and like you heard, this is all political song and dance.

    Quite disappointing Mr. Roskam. I thought Republicans were above this.

  • 90 % tax not legal and no grounds to do so. I didn't support the bailouts nor do I look at a billion dollars to Acorn any better than bonuses at A.I.G. in the stimulus. Yet theirs outcry but I thought the bailout was to keep them from going under. Which means they would pay us back and at a profit to support bonuses. So what's the point if someone earns a bonus now for a job done well if later the bailout is paid back. 90% tax is wrong and after the fact in this case.
