  • They are so talented. God bless you guys!!!

  • Debate over private messages, not on videos.~ :) Enjoy the music, guys!

  • Awesome, I love Skynyrd and love Third Day, 2 great bands !

  • Christianity is for the deluded.

  • @DxFURY Atheism is for the deluded.

See how easy it is to just make a nonsense statement with out any evidence to back it up?

  • @nrolett Wheres ANY evidence for christianity? Most of your accounts in the bible are written decades AT LEAST after the events. Thats not even a first hand source. Its chinese whispers gone mad.

  • sad

  • Sounds even better coming from Third Day. No offense to LS.

  • @x001m69 You must be laughed at for such foolishness

  • @djk28161 Its not foolishness to have a preference. I like third day better. If you like LS better than to you it will be better coming from them.

  • As a Christian, all of you judgemental haters need to get over yourself. Third Day does a wonderful job being disciples of Christ. Go see them in concert and you will hear His name lifted more in a 2 hour show than a month of sermons at most churches. Secondly, they are musicians. Southern musicians on top of that. I can only hope that people who don't believe don't turn their back forever because of your blinder-wearing opinions.

  • @shanecruey Christian rock use rock music as a way to get the attention of those who listen to rock. Theres Chritian country music and Christian rap, it's another way to "speak" to different groups about God with out "scaring" them too much.

  • lets see here last time I checked, Lynyrd Skynyrd wear crosses around their necks and oh yeah in Simple Man when they say you'll find a woman and you'll find love and dont forget son their someone up above, the all point to the sky, and their are alot of rock songs that mention God , and most rock songs are love songs so for those arguing about Rock being bad, knock it off.

  • the bible says 2 sing love songs 2 one another.nothing nasty ect.

  • LOOK all you people arguing over rock music!!! Yes the Bible does say that we are not to love the world or things of the world, but if you take it out of context and into extremes than that must mean you cant even dance to a love song at your wedding because you think it always has to be about God. As long as the lyrics dont go against His character--guess what, ITS OKAY. We all have a right to our own opinion but dont go shoving it in ppls faces cough cough swiftcloud1 cough cough

  • @swiftcloud1

The Bible says you can't like Freebird?

  • @shurtz19 the bible says make a joyful noise to the lord with stringed instruments no where does the bible say you cant like rock music .

  • @shurtz19 - Where does it state in the Bible that I can't like Freebird ? Does it say just Freebird or all NON- Christian music?

  • nice video, great song!

  • Holy crap, the comments for this vid are super pretentious and overly analytical. They covered another Southern American Band, "Hey" lets start a major (stupid) fight over it!

  • If these guys were true disciples of Christ, they would not seek to be like the world, or to sing songs by rock bands

This kind of "Christianity" is why youth are so sensual

  • @shanecruey You r right, totally agree :(

  • @shanecruey

so you can't be a disciple and sing Free Bird? Apparently I must have missed it where it says in the Bible you shall not sing rock songs...I'm gonna have to go back and look for that passage

  • @shurtz19

Where did rock music come from? Satan! When rock music first came out Christians back then had more discernment, and most recognised it a a work of the flesh. What do rock bands promote? Drugs, sex before marriage, alcohol abuse, sensuality, witchcraft, etc. Was "Leonard Skynard" Godly men? No, but quite the opposite! How can light join with darkness. Friend it seems that you have not yet seen sin for what it really is. If you love the world, you do not love God.

  • @shanecruey

Rationalize much? Not all rock music has the negativity that you suggest. Some does, and that is when the listener needs to have the discernment to know what to listen to and what not to. I did not know the men from "Lynyrd Skynyrd" personally, so I cannot say if they were Godly men or not...in fact I believe that is Gods call not mine! Did they make mistakes? Yes. But so have you and I, at least that's what Paul tells us in Romans!

  • @shurtz19

I used to play rock music, and I personally know the spirit behind it. Even these "Christian rock" groups stand on a stage while lust-filled teenage girls scream after them. Come out of the world, and be separated to God.

  • @shanecruey

What may cause you to stumble may not be a problem for someone else. To say that these men are wrong for singing praises to their, and my, God is unbelievable! I would be careful judging others for their actions (I believe it says somewhere in the Bible that we shouldn't do that).

  • @shurtz19

If a school bus driver pulled up to pick up your children and he was drunk, and he says, "hey, I'm the new bus driver, and Im a Christian." I'm sure you would quickly make a "judgment" and say "my child is not going to get on that bus!!" The bible condemns using unrighteous judgment, but says to judge righteous judgment.

When I see "Christians" imitate rock stars I can KNOW WITHOUT A DOUBT that they are not imitating Christ. How could they accept their fans adoring them that way?

  • @shanecruey

Wow is all I can think to say. Of all the options out there you go with the drunk school bus driver. Like apples to oranges. We obviously don't see eye to eye on this and will not any time soon. So I am going to end this. I will pray for you in your service for God....all that I ask is that you do it in love.

  • @shanecruey being christian does not mean your perfect just forgiven no where in the bible does it say you can only like christian music Ephesians 2:8-9 for it is by grace you'v been saved though faith lest no man should boast!!!!!!! Matthew 7 judge not lest ye be judged Romans 3:23 for we ALL fall short of the glory of God.stop judging !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @shurtz19 it says that in Matthew chapter 7 and i agree with your point .

  • @shanecruey I have been to plenty Christian rock concerts in my day and have never seen girls behaving in same way that they would at a secular rock show. YOu are generalizing! If Christian rock is not your thing because of your past, then fine. I would not be the judge of your conviction. However, for you to criticize another brother and set your self up as a judge as to what is acceptable to God, I would encourage you to read Romans 14. In that chapter, you would be the weaker brother.

  • @x001m69 Are you saying it is ok to sing secular rock songs by bands well known for their immorality and wickedness? If so, how do you attemt to justify that? Why don't they ever have solid preaching at these concerts? I bet they would probably never tell the crowd that whosoever looks with lust has commited adultery in their heart. Why not? Jesus did. Oh yeah, that would probably not make them as popular. If we want the world to love us, we probably couldn't say something like that.

  • @shanecruey The most beautiful Christian music and lyrics ever composed were done so by immoral and wicked people. Don't believe me! Read the first three chapter of Romans and tell who is exempted. By your logic, please do not ever pick up a hymnal and sing any song in church. Again, if you do not believe it is ok for you to sing Freebird, then don't. Please don't judge other believers by your own convictions. You have an attidude of a pharisee. Again, read Romans 14!

  • Before I was converted, I used to go to rock concerts. I have seen bands such as Metallica, Fuel, Godsmack, Limp Bizkit, etc. According to your logic, a Christian could probably still be involved in such things. One can look at even the beginning stages of rock music [Elvis, beatles etc.] and see that there is definately a spirit at work there. Please research the history of rock music, and then look and see what it has done to an entire generation. It is dangerous to lead sheep that direction.

  • @shanecruey Have you not read Romans 14? You are not respecting other peoples freedom in Christ. Knowing your conviction, if you were at my home and I started blasting Freebird, I would be at fault per Romans 14 as I'm causing the weaker brother to stumble. However, according to scripture all things are good including all kinds of music. It is the message in the music that potentially makes it evil. For that reason, Christians should stay away from the likes of Godsmack, etc.

  • @shanecruey No, i'm not saying Christians should listen to just any message that is found in music. However, you are overreaching as it is illogical to conclude that because evil exist in music that all music that doesn't sound like a hymn is evil. in the 80's I listened to Van Halen, Kiss, Def Lepard, etc and God used the very rock music you now condemn to bring me to Himself by bringing me to Petra, Whiteheart, David Meece and DeGarmo & Key concerts.

  • @shanecruey I have been a Christian for over 25 years grateful to how God appeared to me through Christian music groups to bring me to himeself. Now you come along with this self righteous attitude condemning Christian goups. Ever occur to you that some lost soul who loves Freebird hears Third Day sing it and is attracted to the band and later hears their song called "Love Song" and God supernaturally reveals Himself to this kid leading to salvation. Who are you to decide how God works?

  • @x001m69 It is strange how that you accuse me of "judging," yet you have made pretty harsh judments towards me, by calling me "self righteous," etc. Would you drink a little beer, in order to "win" an alcoholic? Would you use just a few idols and images, in order to win pagans? The church has tried that for years with santa clause, and the easter bunny, etc. We ought to abstain from all appearance of evil, and let the world see how God has made us new creatures.

    God bless you my friend

  • @shanecruey If you read Romans 14 and read my comments you would already know the answer to your questions regarding beer or idols. Your analogy is ridiculous. The church I go to has never mentioned Santa or Easter Bunny and we do not encorporate either in our holiday celebrations. You are entirely missing my point. Music is not evil, it is how music is used.

  • @x001m69 I have studied Romans 14, and i see the point you are trying to make, but it is in reguards to food, and esteeming certain days. Many people use this to justify all sorts of things. many churches now celebrate "halloween," in the name of "christian liberty."

Can light dwell with darkness? Should children of God dress up as witches? Should we imitate rock stars?

These are all good questions to ask.

  • @shanecruey The context of Romans 14 is that there are many issues that are not directly addressed in scripture and are gray areas. The strong believer is one who understands their Christian liberty while the weaker brother sees their faith as a list of Don'ts. I am not trying to justify anything that is evil so you are taking my comments out of context. The point of me bringing up Romans 14 is to show you as the weaker brother judging those who understand appropriate Christian liberty.

  • @shanecruey If you cannot listen to a song by Third Day with a clear conscience then that is between you and God and I respect that. I take issue with your inability to show the same courtesy to your fellow Christians and is why I called you self righteous. I am not courting an evil spirit because I listen to Third Day and that is between me and God and you should not be attempting go judge God's servants. I can listen to Third Day and feel God's presence and it is none of your business.

  • @shanecruey I have no problem with you having a conviction that listening to a group like Third Day is wrong for you. I would never say you are wrong for having that conviction. YOu cross the line when you say that it is wrong for other believers to listen to a great Christian music that does nothing but Praise God. Scripture doesnt say we cannot listen to music and scripture doesn't call music evil.

  • Honestly, how much of the word of God is promoted by many of these c-rock groups, or are they mostly there to entertain? Here's a small example: The Apostle Paul said that every man praying or prophisying with his head covered dishonors his head, and that if the woman does with hers uncovered she dishonors hers. And Paul even goes on to say that it is a shame for a man to have long hair. Do they?

Most of the c-rockers are entertainers, and are not leading people into a close walk with the Lord

  • @shanecruey I am just completely taken aback by your inability to be respectful to other people's freedom in Christ and condemn the ministry of CCM. No matter what I say, you come back trying to win an arguement and being judgemental. YOu seem to think you are in a position to determine what God can use and what He cannot. Remember, you are a sinner and wicked to the core just like the rest of us. That is bible talking, not me. Don't believe me, read Romans 1-3 chapters.

  • @shanecruey It is sad Shane that your new faith in Christ is at a level to where you condemn other believers when Christ came not to condemn the world but to save it. You look at an issue like music and take the position that your conviction about it is now the standard by which all other Christians must follow. Without knowing other peoples testimony, you make blanket generalizations about the appropriateness of all music.

  • @shanecruey Christ is more concerned about the heart than about outward appearance. Regardless, the issue of length of hair, music we listen to, the food and drink we consume is between the individual and our Lord. It isn't between you and the individual. Your job is to point people to Christ, not be the judge of them. You are acting like a religious zealot out to condemn everyone because they don't live how you define Christianity. You should be showing grace to people, not condemnation.

  • I didn't "condemn," I just said what the bible says. Thats the problem. God commands us to worship him in Spirit AND Truth. Today, when you show people what the bible says, they have the attitude of "I don't go by those scriptures, leave me alone and let me have a good time".

Obedience is better than sacrifice my friend. Many many scriptures are set aside by many today, for a "feel good" experience.

I love you my friend, and all I am saying is that God wants us to keep his word.

  • @shanecruey I know, I show you Romans 14 and you totally ignore it! You don't go by that chapter. I have tried to be as gracious to you as possible, but you are proving to be challenging. I do not disagree with you on scriptures you mention, but you are applying a personal preference pertaining to music and making a doctrine out of it and then judging all who don't live by your created doctrine. Is there bad Christian music, Yes, but that doesn't mean your generalizations about it are true.

  • Why would bands like "Jars of Clay" and "P.O.D." tour with mainstream lust-filled secular rockers? I know what goes on at rock concerts. Do they warn those attending that drunkards, or the sexually immoral, will not inherit the kingdom of God? The Apostle Paul did in 1 Cor. 6:9-10. I don't know about you, but I have a burning desire to see people SAVED from these things. I don't want to be interested in entertaining people. How could you play at a secular rock concert and not warn the wicked?

  • @shanecruey Regarding Romans 14, I'm not trying to justify all forms of evil. The only issue that concerns me regarding our correspondence is that of music and your false presuppositions. I have attended Christian shows for over 25 years by many artists and have witnessed people come to the Lord in some. I have seen the Lord use music to bring people to himself. YOu are free to live by your own convictions, but a gracious Christian will be mature enough to let God be the judge of others.

  • @shanecruey "People are going to judge you, look for excuses to condemn and say bad things about you. But God doesn't look for those kinds of excuses. I would rather live on the verge of falling and let my security be in the all sufficiency of the Grace of God, then to live in a pietistic allusion of moral excellence. Not that I don't want to be morally excellent but my faith is in the idea that God and his love are greater than any sin that anyone of us could commit." Rich Mullins

  • @shanecruey

Looking back on your comments about rock music, I must say that you being extremely ignorant in your beliefs. I am a Christian, and I have been my whole life, but I'm open minded enough to sit back, and listen to this music for what it truly is. Most of these bands are in no way shape or form evil or satanic. I want you to go watch the videos to Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold, Monster by Skillet and Fallen Angels by Black Veil Brides. Then come tell me what you think they are about.

  • @shanecruey With your logic you should not eat at restaurants because the food might be prepared by a wicked and immoral person. You should not buy a car from a salesman for fear that he might be wicked and immoral. Don't ever read a book not written by Christian with no known sin. Might as well turn off your water and electricity in your home because the people providing your supply just might be wicked and immoral. The object isn't wicked just because the artist or worker is wicked.

  • @shanecruey God said all things were good. What makes somethimg evil is how it is used. Yes, some rock music is evil, but just because a song doesn't say "praise Jesus" throughout the song doesn't mean it is sinful. A Christian band doesn't lose their standing as Christian just because they sing a song from a secular group. A girl who lusts after someone on stage is the only person sinning, not the performer.

  • Listen my dear friend. This is not about winning arguments, but about a desire to see a pure bride of Christ, presented to Him blameless. When I was in darkness I played in a "christian rock band." I loved bands like Creed [who even used the Lords name in vain in one of their songs]. I was a lust-filled person who desired the praise of men, and I often would drink alcohol. The truth is that I was DEAD in sin, but Christ raised me from the dead!! People's hearts MUST be changed, and Christ can!!

  • @shanecruey some of them yes and a lot of them sing praise to god like Boston skynerd the Beatles

  • @shanecruey Rock music did not come from Satan, but satan has used music that God created. God created all things, Satan did not. NOthing and absolutely nothing came from Satan for he is a created rebellious angel turned demonic. You give way to much credit to him. Some rock bands do indeed promote many vices, but not all of them do. NO, LS were not godly men, but neither are you or I. We may be justified and in the process of being sanctified, but we are not godly in practice.

  • You said that "nothing came from Satan." What about temptation? What about abortion? What about witchcraft? Who do you think is behind movies like "harry potter," or "twilight?" Satan is a deceiver, and he deceives the whole world according to the bible.

Also, are you saying that we can be "justified," yet practice willful sin? I'm not sure what you are saying. Can we really be ungodly yet godly at the same time? In Christ we become a new creature. What are we saved from?

  • @shanecruey Shane, you are just looking for something to pick at. Look at my comment!!! I said God created all things. The context of the comment was that Satan has not created anything. We all willfully sin every day. Your sin of pride in trying to beat me down with your judgementalism and attempt to win an arguement not allowing God to be my judge makes you guilty of committing every sin in the book. If we are guilty of one part of law, we are guilty of all. Repent brother.

  • I am not "picking." The main point I am saying is that professing Christian "ministers" [musicians] who won't speak against sin, but conform to the world instead are wrong in doing that. They are more interested in crowds, than in leading people out of darkness.

I know that we all are subject to commiting sins that we don't realize, but you said that "we all willfuly sin every day." Can a Christian willfuly lie and still be ok? Can they commit adultery and be ok? Jesus can save us from any sin

  • @shanecruey No a Christian who willfully lies is not ok in the sense that his/her relationship with God not right. If you mean ok in the sense that, "is he/she still saved" then yes absolutely he /she is still ok. Repentence is required to bring the relationship in proper fellowship with God. I'm not interested in a discussion with you if you do not believe in eternal security. If you don't, please just drop it. We will agree to disagree.

  • Oh...the once saved always saved doctrine...Now I see...The bible sure gives a WHOLE LOT of warnings about falling away from the faith, not to mention No one that I have found in early church history taught such a doctrine until well after the death of the apostles. Why would the bible tell us repeatedly to "continue in the faith?" Or "He that endures till the end shall be saved?" Or "he that overcomes will inherit all things?" Let's not ignore these scriptures to hold a doctrine together.

  • @shanecruey Thats right, you should not ignore scriptures to hold to a doctrine from hell. Satan wants you to believe that the sacrifice of Christ was not sufficient. However, "Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" Romans 5:1 At conversion, we are justified before God and all sin of past, present and future is nailed on the cross. If you disagree, I'm sorry that you have not got a pure understanding of Grace.

  • "A doctrine from hell?" The sacrifice of Christ Is sufficient, but you must have faith. If you depart from the faith, and turn again to sin and shame and will not humble yourself, you will be worse off than if you never knew the truth. Jude warned of those who would change the grace of God into a liscence to live in willful sin. If you are automatically forgiven of all future sins, then why does He tell us that "if we confess our sins" He will forgive us? Even the devils "beleive" but are lost!

  • @shanecruey Could you just stop please!! I do not suggest that anyone choose to sin against God. I have not departed from my faith in what Christ has done for me. I have not changed the Grace of God into anything other than what it is which is salvation as a free gift for all who call on Him. YOu are not understanding the point I'm trying to make and I'm tired of trying. I would appreciate it if you would just stop trying to convince me of your position. You do not understand mine.

  • @shanecruey Jesus is called several times in the scripture "the Savior of the world." But he is not the Savior of the world if the world is in fact not saved. One may say that he merely offers salvation to the world, or made it possible for the world to be saved. But why would God, knowing that most would not be saved, still have Him called "the Savior of the world?"He saves the world. "And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world."1 John 2:2

  • @shurtz19 Love not the world or the things of the world! Hey check your bible!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @shanecruey If you were a true disciple of Christ, you would spend more time introducing people to the Lord rather than tell other believers how to live their lives. The great commission is not to point out the specks in other peoples eyes, but to preach the gospel. How about deal with the logs in your own eyes and minister to the people you know around you rather than preach at people you don't know on YouTube.

  • third day,,,you guys are amazing,,,thank you
