I thought that they took extra care to make sure our military working dogs are treated as if they are human, i.e. if they are killed or wounded, they are retrieved, treated, and kept with the handler's family if possible. Well I am not bragging but this was in the 80's so things were different back then and I was a kid, and that dog was part German part wolf, he would never allow us to bring him in even in show we could not get him, he loved the outdoors and would sleep under the snow. Like a wild animal. Plus we would use chains and he would break loose and fight other dogs. Plus other dogs would come to him and he would beat their asses. This dog was named cognac, and their is no dog bader that ever lived.

These German dogs are the best, I have been an owner of that breed twice in my life and I know they would make bad ass millitary dogs. my first one was part wolf and german, that was the meanist toughest dog to exist. There is still a drug problem/trade in the military also given the areas this video was shot I am sure that they are looking for IED's and such more then drugs. There was also a major drug trafficking promlem during the Vietnam war so it would seem that the army is trying to avoid having that happen again.
