Hi, I live in NJ, and I am pro bear hunt. Its all I see when I go deer hunting. We need to control the population as they are all over the place and that is not a sound wildlife management policy.

@bashfulbrother There are some humans who are cannibals. I'm sure somewhere in history there has probably been at least one person who has eaten his own children. Hell, knowing how many sickos there are out there, probably more than one. Back in 2009 there was a man who ate his son's eyeballs. And even if they don't necessarily eat their kids, there have been tons of parents who have murdered their kids.

My point was more to the idea that we view it as an aberration, while in the natural world it is far from a rare occurrence. It is common behavior amongst the bear families for the male to eat the young of the female. If a person were to try to do this today, they end up like Jeffrey Dahmer, Ed Gein, and other people that we lock them away for being abnormal.

Actually, many civilizations practiced ritualized cannibalism, to include Western civilizations...often times evidence of this exists through vestigial rituals still practiced into recorded times, or oral traditions that preserve the remembrance of such practices.

I'd imagine cannibalism was really quite common in bronze age and older times. Of course, in Oceania cannibalism persisted into the modern age, and possible still does.

I love to see the adorable little nursing bears on Mommy's tummy. It is so tender; not always are bears fierce. They are very likable and most human; they attack because we humans have hunted them down, killed and maimed them. We don't even deserve the love of this creature; it lives in spite of us, not for us. Long Live Bears!!
