how is it the 40th year of Glastonbury festival when in 2001  which is only nine years ago it was cancelled due to the out break of foot and mouth that only makes 39 Glastonbury festival's since 1970

@GAZZA3674 actually glastonbury hasnt even had 39 festivals. there have been numerous years where there wasnt a festival, it only became a regular thing in the 80s with numerous fallow years so its nowhere near 40 festivals, but it is 40 years since the first, hence the 40th year anniversary

was amazing to be there for glastos 40th year :D was my 1st time but now im hooked! this was the defining moment of the festival for me but the realisation that it was all over was really sad! thankyou mr eavis :)
